Official Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend 2019

They’re runDisney branded. The material is not slick like the Champion ones. I’m just not quite sure how to describe it.

They feel a lot scratchier. And the fit is kinda weird. The arms are very baggy and the rest seems half baggy and half fitted.

It’s weird and I’m not a fan.

I knew they looked different in the sneak peak pictures. It’s silly but I’m so sad about this. I love my Champion shirts. Not doing Wine and Dine but signed up for the January 10K.
I agree. I really liked the Champion shirts.

I will say I have a shirt from another race that feels scratchy, but it really doesn’t bother me when I run. I’m hoping for the same with these.

All 4 of my shirts are the same size and they all fit completely different. I dont mind the material so much, but it's weird that my challenge shirt sleeves are very baggy and slightly long and my 5k is like fitted to my wrists.

Can we link our bibs to photo pass after the race? I can’t get mine to link. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Sign at ASSp says last bus to Epcot tomorrow is 4am, the website says 5am, which is it??

So this was my first (and hopefully not last!) runDisney Expo experience at WDW. My previous only experience was in Paris in 2017, with a lot less merchandise and a much smaller Expo with very few exhibitors.

Not a great start to begin with, as I turned up to the bus stop at Pop around 9.30am to see a queue stretching out all the way into the side road. Around me people were saying that we might maybe get on the 3rd bus. Waited a while in the hot sun before I gave up and just got an Uber to the Expo (gave a couple of nearby people a lift too). As I left the queue a bus did pull up, but apparently there were already a number of people on the bus...

Bib collection was probably the most organised bib collection I've ever been to, so was quite impressed by this!

Merchandise area... Wow. So much merch. I went around a few rounds just to see all the different merch for all the races. I loved the design of the half marathon stuff with patriotic Mickey on the front and Chip and Dale on the back (I love Chip and Dale so anything with them is a thumbs up in my book). Not such a fan of the purple 3 Caballeros challenge shirts design though. Luckily I have zero use for running jackets, otherwise my wallet would have taken an even bigger hit. Got a few shirts and a few other things. I went back again later in the day and there were quite a few empty shelves so I'm glad I got there early despite the insane crowds early in the day.

I think I was particularly impressed with the merch because the DLP race I did really didn't have much merch at all. And it helped that I really liked the designs of most of the stuff they had today.

Race tshirts - loved the designs and colours of the half marathon and the 10k, not so much the challenge (bright orange?!) and the 5k. Hate the long sleeves, and if I want to modify them into short sleeves I'll have to cut off the "runDisney" logo. Might still do it though as I have zero use for long sleeve running shirts and they would otherwise just sit in my closet unworn.

Oh just a note about sizing since this was mentioned earlier in the thread. I am now thoroughly confused by runDisney sizing. The shirts that fit me today are all S. My DLP race shirts that fit me perfectly are L and XL. I know the DLP shirts are European sizing but the sizing just seems so far apart!

Exhibitor area - again, wow, so much better than the DLP Expo and most of the races I do back home because it actually had lots of running gear that I actually use! Picked up a couple of Sparkle skirts and a couple other small items. Fun to walk around the runDisney stuff and see all the medals too!

I think I just spent all my souvenir budget for this trip at the Expo...

Does anyone know if there’s a new management team in place for RD? The organization is the best I’ve seen in years.

The weather today was completely perfect for me - not cold enough to need a jacket, but cool enough to make running a joy. Had a great time running especially since so much of the route was backstage (which I always love running through) or inside the park.

There were 7 character stops if I don't remember wrongly
Country bears
Baloo and King Louie
Chef Donald near imagination pavilion
Remy in France
Dopey in Germany
Flik
Mater and Lightning McQueen

Then Mickey and Minnie at the end.

It was fun and I enjoyed it!

Two more races to go...

There was a man who went into cardiac arrest by Nemo, getting CPR. Anyone know the outcome?
As I ran by, I heard the paramedic say, “We’ve got a pulse.” I hope that means he survived!
Also, I don’t have the RunDisney logo on the sleeve of my 5k shirt. DH does. :confused3
