Canadian Buffoon's Exhausted Vacation - Update 09/01 - New TR link!

Sorry for being a ridiculous 7? 8? pages behind. My surgery didn't go as well as I'd have hoped- at least the recovery and then the company and holidays were upon me. My folks are gone now and I think I am over the worst of my recovery, so can slowly re-integrate back into my DIS Life. But, lots of long nap breaks are in my future as well.... one thread at a time....I'd actually had your whole (LONG!) chapter quoted and ready but if you forget to "save" every day or so, it goes bye-bye. So, replies, Take 2.

Yes, I know dressage is horse
riding, but it just sounds fancy!
Tell me if you caught that
or knew that.

I did. But, got teased one time about mispronouncing it.

We set out in due course on
the rough-hewn jungle road.

So did you use compasses or use sun navigation? or ? drive by the seats of your pants? How do you know it was, in fact, "due course"?

Alas, our mode of conveyance
was out of action and would remain
so until we could effect repairs.

Don't worry, as per our discussion on my thread, they know how to fix stuff like that super well and know where to get (or carve) new parts.

The sounds of drumming in the
distance drew me onwards.

TAM TAM!!

when I came across the tribe's
sacred tree, whom they'd named
Hoyle Derrick.

Nicely done.

DSC08260_zpsb0r7pgpq.gif

As I made my way forward,

Nice animation too! #skilz

I was able to spy a rare Brownschmuck duck;
prized for its golden hued eggs and fatty meat.

Perfect for breakfast!! Like McDonalds!

Surely, the lifespans of these people
could be measured in mere decades.

Only mere decades?! Must be the golden eggs and fatty meat.

At last, I came upon the headwaters
of the river I'd been following these
past several weeks.

YAY!! You can see the backside of water there!

I pulled a simple camp hand-meal
out of my pack.

To supplement the golden eggs and fatty meats from earlier.

It's not a difficult task, all that is
required is 8 Spoons.

Which makes me wonder if you've grown 6 more arms for this trip.

A few of the children, sensing adventure,
accompanied us on our trek.

She looks like she is either wholly unexcited or scared to death.

The great Kelly-tree rose above us majestically.

... on the RIGHT side of the jeep! ;)

Apparently, the cheetah had actually been hunting
and had pounced on a mouse or small bird.
Wish I'd seen that.

Dang it!

Really nice image.

As the afternoon progressed into
evening, the villagers encouraged
me to undergo a cleansing ritual.

I wonder if the guy after you thought it should have been encouraged sooner.

But... I was terrified at the thought
of what might lie before me.

Yeah I was too when I had my last "cleansing ritual". At least I got propofol after mine.

Or is that vomit no evil??

Wait! That TOO?!

Eventually, the gentleman who'd gone
to retrieve my package returned and
said "Are you staying at Allstars Port?"

Whoops.

I retraced my steps back to my tent,
retrieved the wayward phone and
returned to the rendezvous point,
arriving five minutes after my first
attempt.

For the regular masses, a forgotten phone would be a 30 minute setback in time.

And likely a missed bus too.

I let myself be persuaded to imbibe
a potent concoction made from the
extractions of Mandarin oranges, lemons
and corn distilled alcohol.

That sounds simply amazing!

Mm, pie with ketchup and mustard!! My faves!

Date Night

It was not a great night.
I got to bed right around
eleven pm... but was up
from midnight... to four am.

:sad2:

I went to the bathroom
and might have squealed
in pain as I partially threw
my back out.

It wasn't a complete disaster
luckily, or un-luckily.
While I was severely
impaired, I was at least able
to remain upright.
When I completely throw it out,
I am unable to stand.
It hurt... a lot... but I could
at least move.
I limped/staggered/shuffled
back to bed and miraculously
fell asleep.

Until the alarm blared at 5:15am.

I was moving a little slowly this
morning, not of my own accord,
so it took me a full 45 minutes
or so to get up and dressed
and out of my room.
I arrived at the bus stop at 6:04am.
The bus arrived at 6:11am.

Seven minutes... a slight improvement,
but not nearly the promptness
I have grown accustomed to
and deserve.

I stepped/limped/groaned/disembarked
the bus and made my way... finally!...
to the Magic Kingdom.

I was by no ways the first to arrive.
Not even close.

IMG_2883_zpshfunlmy4.jpg

But I know a trick or two and...
By skirting around the crowd to
the right, I was able to position
myself fairly close to the entrance.

IMG_2884_zpsledqmta3.jpg

Once the throng was allowed
to enter, I hopped on a car
for a relaxing, leisurely jaunt
down Main St. USA.

DSC08509b_zps2pbxrbqs.jpg

You may be thinking to yourself
that doing that puts you at the back
of the pack.

And you'd be right... and wrong.
If you take your time and follow
the crowd... yeah... you'll be behind.

I don't do that.
I thanked the driver and set out on foot.
Moving as quickly as I was able,
which was slower than my normal speed,
but still slower than many,
I made my way over the bridge heading
towards the Spew Cups.
By moving as far as possible to the
left, I was able to get right up to the
rope stretched across the end of the bridge.

Soon we were marching off towards...

DSC08585_zpsxwus5wfv.jpg

7DMT.
I stayed to the left, right behind the CM
and was rewarded with my efforts by
following the CM up to the queue,
into the queue and right up to the ride.
I was the first guest of the day on 7DMT.

After a successful tour of the Dwarf's mine,
I zipped over to PP and was pleased to
see that it was still a walk on.

DSC08502_zpsfx6odwnb.jpg

My near sleepless night was
beginning to catch up to me.
I stumbled off of PP and semi-
sleep-walked over to Splash.
I needed some time to regroup
and wake up a bit.
What could be better than sitting
in jammies and a housecoat, sipping
a mug of coffee (or in my case, hot
chocolate) and perusing the morning
paper?

<yawn!>
Still tired...

525416750_zpsajoeensf.jpg

...might as well go again...
There we go... starting
to wake up a bit, now.

525406496_zps9yjhj3hp.jpg

Okay, now that I'm awake, it's
time for some excitement!
And I can't think of a better
way to get it in MK, than a
quick spin on BTMRR!

DSC08537_zpsaiv3ju5z.jpg

DSC08534_zpsdsrio8el.jpg

I won't say it's my favourite
ride in Disney... nor even in
MK... but it's in the top 3
(at MK, at least.)

Speaking of favourite ride,
I was simply beside myself
with fright when I rode HM.

525451193_zpsc6bajnaj.jpg

Please keep your cutting remarks
to yourselves.

It was time to knock a treat off
the "to-do" list.
I'd heard of the Cat Tails for a while
and had tried to get one during
the last trip, to no avail.
I was not thwarted this time!

IMG_2887_zpsmokbzns4.jpg

And... I gotta tell ya...
I didn't like it.
Far too many chocolate chips.
At that time of morning, for
breakfast, I just don't normally
like or want a lot of chocolate.
Unless it's hot chocolate... then maybe.

Oh, well. Glad I tried it, nevertheless.
But I did wind up tossing more than
half of it in the garbage.

A bit disappointed, I headed over
to Buzz to see if the lines were
still short.

Hmmm... 25 minutes... I think
I'll pass on that one.

I headed across the hub
and into Adventureland.

A quick spin on POTC,
with no wait was a much
better option.

DSC08568_zpswt2y0jco.jpg

And by the time I exited
POTC, my PP FP was due.
I decided to mobile-order
a Dole Whip Float first.

OMG.... soooo good.

IMG_2888_zpsvcbperlp.jpg

Rejuvenated, I was able
to help Peter defeat the
pirates.
(My recent experience on
POTC played no small part.)

DSC08499_zpsnjtbl3j3.jpg

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted
to do next, so I wandered over
towards Tomorrowland.

While I was in the area,
I had a nice chat with a DVC
CM and decided to let myself
get talked into a DVC tour.

The offer of three anytime FPs
didn't hurt either.

Tour arranged, I made my way
onto the WEDway People Mover.

Tron was coming along nicely.
Looks like they have the track
laid now.

DSC08608_zpsdfdaxw3a.jpg

DSC08606_zpsa4figwnr.jpg

And... it must be done...

DSC08604_zps16xshyl7.jpg

I was in full relaxation mode now
and decided to wander around
Main St. a bit.
I didn't take many photos as
I was concentrating (or rather,
not concentrating) on doing
the absolute least I could not do.

DSC08548_zpsnuxryhbu.jpg

I followed the sound of
ivories being tickled
(no, not the elephants
on the Jungle Cruise)
and paused to listen
to some rag time piano.

DSC08624_zpsg90vhntm.jpg

Love this guy.

At one point he stopped playing
and I asked him if he was about
to take a break.
He explained that he wasn't allowed
to play when other musical acts
were performing.
(The marching band was playing
just then.)
He commented on my camera and
was especially interested in my
tripod.
I told him it was carbon fiber, so,
very strong but also very light.
I offered to let him hold it, but he
surprised me by saying that he
wasn't allowed to touch guests'
cameras.
I wonder why not? Because it would
stop him from playing? Because
he might drop it? But other CMs
use guests' cameras all the time.

I still don't know.

It was getting on towards lunch time.
And I was getting hungry.
All I'd eaten that day was a bit
of a cat tail.

When I'd originally booked a lunch
ADR for this day, I'd made it at LTT.
I really wanted to try the burger there.

But when my flights got delayed,
it caused me to cancel that day's ADR...
And it was one I really wanted to do
because I don't know anyone who's
done it!
I managed to rebook at...

DSC08629_zpsnbpjllwp.jpg

While I suppose the "all you can eat"
option is what might bring in the hungry,
I'm just not that big an eater to make
it worth my while.
But you can order a la carte.

The view when you enter:

DSC08630_zpsqzgqzmqb.jpg

DSC08631b_zpsz1p15asf.jpg

I waited for a few minutes
and was brought to what
was described as "The best
seat in the house."

IMG_2890_zpsqen31ake.jpg

There are two tables, one on either
side of the stage, set on elevated
platforms.
It's very set apart and offers plenty
of elbow room and privacy.

I loved it.

I looked around and was a bit
surprised by these (for Disney)
slightly risqué prints on the wall.

IMG_2894_zpsw0wy23r1.jpg

IMG_2893_zpsclvsyvxt.jpg

Ooh, la la!

The server arrived and took my
drink order and handed me
a menu.

IMG_2892_zps3buwfuts.jpg

My frozen Coke came moments later.

IMG_2896_zpsdhsryhcg.jpg

And not long after I ordered,
I received my chicken sammie
with side of spud salad.

IMG_2897_zpsyf6jqv1v.jpg

Was it the best meal I've ever had?
Well... no. Of course not.
Was it good?
Yes, I'd give it a thumb's up.
The sandwich was fine
and the potato salad had a nice
smoky flavour to it.
I don't know if I'd go back,
there are plenty of other dining
options to choose from in MK.
But I am definitely glad I tried
this new-to-me spot.

After lunch, I had some time to kill
before my DVC tour, so I slowly
made my way around and over
to Tomorrowland, stopping
to take photos as the mood struck.

DSC08579_zpsen966imt.jpg

DSC08584_zpspf4hwwm2.jpg

This couple at the Speedway made
me laugh, so I snapped a photo
as they chugged past.

DSC08592_zpsz6ix3ndh.jpg

And I like to think that this
guy looks like he's 15 feet tall.
(No, he's not photoshopped.
the cars are just that small.)

DSC08593_zpsmb6xq3sp.jpg

I passed the line for the Speedway
and shook my head.
I just can't imagine standing in
line for the chance to slowly
jerk around a track.
Nope. Not for me.

DSC08594_zpsl91twtyr.jpg

And no trip to Tomorrowland
would be complete without
a quick snap of my favourite trees.

DSC08598_zpshgtxprbp.jpg

I arrived back at the DVC
booth where I was taken
backstage and whisked by
van over to WL.

IMG_2899_zpsrb8nylol.jpg

I won't go into all the details
of the DVC spiel.
It was interesting and informative...
but I just don't think it's for me.

Returning to MK, I used my
first FP to hop on Buzz.
I brought all my weapons
to bear and defeated Zurg
and saved the Galaxy!

525965280_zpsh220t5lr.jpg

IMG_2900_zpsyifq8pxc.jpg

IMG_2901_zpst88wdtbf.jpg

You're welcome.

To celebrate my conquest,
I stopped by Auntie Gravity's
and ordered a root beer float.

I was surprised, given my recent
heroism, that they asked me to
pay for it.

Oh, well... heroes don't complain.

much...

IMG_2904_zpshxefum2d.jpg

I wandered back over to Adventureland
and using another FP, boarded a Jungle
boat for a cruise down river.

There was one joke that I hadn't heard before.
Skip it if you'd rather hear it straight from
the source.
Otherwise you can click the spoiler button.

We were floating along,
enjoying the skipper's corny/fun jokes,
when...
"I'm going to point out some plants.
<points up> That's a hibiscus.
<points down> That's a lowbiscus.
If it's in the water, it's a …...

Seabiscus.

If it's in a dog's mouth it's a...

Bark."

Okay... 2 FPs down... what to use my
third one on?

BTMRR, of course.
There was a one hour wait
as only one track was operating.
But with the FP, I was on almost
immediately.

Okay... I have one more important date.

Hmmm... time for a snack, though.
I picked up a chicken skewer
from the Westward Ho wagon.

IMG_2905_zpsc3rse6al.jpg

I know one of my readers
recommended this.
And I almost remember who.
But that note is at work.
If it was you... thanks!
It was really tasty!

Now... time for that date.
I made my way over to
Ariel's grotto and she was
(of course) overjoyed to see me.

525590222_zpscualbabz.jpg

We hugged and laughed and
reminisced.
I pulled out my phone and
showed her photos of how
our relationship progressed.

525588979_zpsyyemm1u8.jpg

Our first meet, when she
played hard to get.
But I was persistent...

IMG_2877_zpsxzuh4xgf.jpg

When I proposed... much to the
dismay of my DD, who wasn't
so much a fan of having a fish
for a new mom.

IMG_2878_zps0yn7qyx1.jpg

Or those other times we'd met
and the kids were always
bothering us or getting in the way...

IMG_2876_zpsybbu38kl.jpg

422576963_zpsqcvq6sst.jpg

But we were alone now.
No stinkin' kids to bug us.
I could see that there was
a long line to see her...
So I suggested she ditch
the grotto and come with
me and play for a while.

She quickly nodded, I picked
her up (fins... you know...)
and we headed out for some
rides.

First stop, of course, was HM.
She loved it.
I knew I'd picked the right girl.

525451186_zpsmnpxg2xn.jpg

Then we went for a spin on 7DMT.
She had a blast!

525378562_zpsluliw5be.jpg

But... then... it happened.
And... I don't know if I can
continue seeing her after this.

I asked her what ride she
wanted to go on next.
And this is what she picked...

IASW_zpslxuuigzo.jpg

After that torture was over,
I dropped her off back at
the grotto and told her I'd
have to rethink our future.

Sad... but everyone has their limit.

I spent the next little while
wandering the park, trying
to decide what to do.
Really, more or less in shock.

I snapped out of it by snapping
some photos here and there
as I made my way out of the park.

DSC08626_zpsyzligxkp.jpg

DSC08619_zps5hfqd7il.jpg

DSC08553_zpsbwnhldvv.jpg

Dejected, I arrived at the bus stop
at 7:09pm... and to add insult to
injury, the bus didn't arrive until
eight minutes later, at 7:17pm.

I just sadly shook my head
and headed back to my hotel room.

Alone...

Heartbroken.

Lost all my quotes and replies that I did a few days ago... starting over. Sigh....
Ugh. The worst.
I've had that happen
a few times.

Not fun.
No worries, Liesa.
I've read what you're going
through and totally understand.
I did. But, got teased one time about mispronouncing it.
Hmmm...
If you pronounced it "dress-age"
instead of "dress-ahjj", then...

But if you pronounced it

"horsey-riding"...
So did you use compasses or use sun navigation? or ? drive by the seats of your pants? How do you know it was, in fact, "due course"?
I had my Official Red Ryder
Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot
Range Model Air Rifle.
It has a compass in the stock.

(And this thing that tells time.)
Don't worry, as per our discussion on my thread, they know how to fix stuff like that super well and know where to get (or carve) new parts.

While I was severely
impaired, I was at least able
to remain upright.
When I completely throw it out,
I am unable to stand.
It hurt... a lot... but I could
at least move.
I limped/staggered/shuffled
back to bed and miraculously
fell asleep.
How did you ever function the rest of the day??
DMT.
I stayed to the left, right behind the CM
and was rewarded with my efforts by
following the CM up to the queue,
into the queue and right up to the ride.
I was the first guest of the day on 7DMT.
That's awesome!
My near sleepless night was
beginning to catch up to me.
I stumbled off of PP and semi-
sleep-walked over to Splash.
I needed some time to regroup
and wake up a bit.
What could be better than sitting
in jammies and a housecoat, sipping
a mug of coffee (or in my case, hot
chocolate) and perusing the morning
paper?
Officially the best picture ever.....major points for cleverness!
Speaking of favourite ride,
I was simply beside myself
with fright when I rode HM.
Ok, this one might even top the Splash picture.....
And... I gotta tell ya...
I didn't like it.
Far too many chocolate chips.
At that time of morning, for
breakfast, I just don't normally
like or want a lot of chocolate.
Unless it's hot chocolate... then maybe.
If I was there I would have made short work of that pesky chocolate.
And by the time I exited
POTC, my PP FP was due.
I decided to mobile-order
a Dole Whip Float first.

OMG.... soooo good.
Nothing better....well except maybe the pineapple upside down cake topped with Dole Whip!
While I was in the area,
I had a nice chat with a DVC
CM and decided to let myself
get talked into a DVC tour.

The offer of three anytime FPs
didn't hurt either.
Did you get the gift card offer too?
While I suppose the "all you can eat"
option is what might bring in the hungry,
I'm just not that big an eater to make
it worth my while.
But you can order a la carte.
That place is hardly ever open when I am there.
es, I'd give it a thumb's up.
The sandwich was fine
and the potato salad had a nice
smoky flavour to it.
I don't know if I'd go back,
there are plenty of other dining
options to choose from in MK.
But I am definitely glad I tried
this new-to-me spot.
Always good to try somewhere new!
I won't go into all the details
of the DVC spiel.
It was interesting and informative...
but I just don't think it's for me.
So, you had your tour at Copper Creek? When I did my tour it was at Saratoga Springs. I wouldn't buy direct from Disney but I am very happy to have bought in.
o celebrate my conquest,
I stopped by Auntie Gravity's
and ordered a root beer float.

I was surprised, given my recent
heroism, that they asked me to
pay for it.

Oh, well... heroes don't complain.
At least not too much.............
I know one of my readers
recommended this.
And I almost remember who.
But that note is at work.
If it was you... thanks!
It was really tasty!
That looks great....definitely putting it on the list!
But we were alone now.
No stinkin' kids to bug us.
I could see that there was
a long line to see her...
So I suggested she ditch
the grotto and come with
me and play for a while.

She quickly nodded, I picked
her up (fins... you know...)
and we headed out for some
rides.

First stop, of course, was HM.
She loved it.
I knew I'd picked the right girl.
Alright, I bow down to your photopass skills.....just amazing!
But... then... it happened.
And... I don't know if I can
continue seeing her after this.

I asked her what ride she
wanted to go on next.
And this is what she picked...
Well she is a smart girl....she likes details, elaborate theming and multicultural perspectives.

You’ve created a monster. Thanks to you after several years on the boards I have finally mastered the art of multi quotes from a single post LOL

Yikes. I have a bad back and occasionally severe sciatica so I understand that pain. Glad it wasn’t worse. It’s sometimes the smallest things that cause it too :’(
Seven minutes... a slight improvement,
but not nearly the promptness
I have grown accustomed to
and deserve.
They knew you were moving slowly today so gave you extra time to get to the stop.
Okay, now that I'm awake, it's
time for some excitement!
And I can't think of a better
way to get it in MK, than a
quick spin on BTMRR!
I can barely handle that on a mostly good back day. I’m impressed you did it with a tweaked back
Speaking of favourite ride,
I was simply beside myself
with fright when I rode HM.
Ok now you’re just showing off (and you have every right too - that’s fun!)
I'd heard of the Cat Tails for a while
and had tried to get one during
the last trip, to no avail.
I was not thwarted this time!

And... I gotta tell ya...
I didn't like it.
We missed in when we were there in Feb. I’m learning as much about what I can skip as what I should try. Thanks!
The photo of the castle from the side bridge was supposed show in this quote. I love that view. I took this nighttime one in Feb from the same spot. Only an iPhone shot but I was really pleased with it.

But when my flights got delayed,
it caused me to cancel that day's ADR...
And it was one I really wanted to do
because I don't know anyone who's
done it!
I managed to rebook at...
Ooh! That has never been open when we’ve been there except as a dance party spot at sm MVMCP.
Returning to MK, I used my
first FP to hop on Buzz.
I brought all my weapons
to bear and defeated Zurg
and saved the Galaxy!
I have a love/hate relationship with this ride. I hate it because I can never figure out where my laser is pointing. I think I’m on target and the points don’t move. I walk off it in a bad mood. The Paris one you can even lift your blaster out and move it around and I still get practically nothing. Give me TSM any day and I’ll wipe the floor with you.
To celebrate my conquest,
I stopped by Auntie Gravity's
and ordered a root beer float.
That looks like an amazing RB Float. Will have to remember that one.
Dejected, I arrived at the bus stop
at 7:09pm... and to add insult to
injury, the bus didn't arrive until
eight minutes later, at 7:17pm.
Refer to my note at the start. They gave you a couple extra minutes thinking you might be more sore at the end of the day ;). In all seriousness I hope it eased off relatively quickly.

In real life, does this roller coaster look small, or is the building that is going up around it bigger than Space Mountain? It is hard to tell by looking at these photos.

Love the Ariel photos! You had quite the afternoon with her!

How did you ever function the rest of the day??
I'm not quite sure.
I guess I'm used to operating
on very little sleep. :confused3
That's awesome!
::yes::
I was pretty happy about that. :)
Officially the best picture ever.....major points for cleverness!
Thanks!

all of the chocolate chips.

Right!

I looked a bit into buying

really ticked me off.

You're welcome!
Yikes. I have a bad back and occasionally severe sciatica so I understand that pain. Glad it wasn’t worse. It’s sometimes the smallest things that cause it too :’(
Then you can literally
feel my pain.
It's never fun when it

goes out.
They knew you were moving slowly today so gave you extra time to get to the stop.
Ah! Of course. Quite right.
I can barely handle that on a mostly good back day. I’m impressed you did it with a tweaked back
I was feeling better enough
(miraculously) that I could
do it.

Space Mountain was right out, though.
Ok now you’re just showing off (and you have every right too - that’s fun!)

Well, take it with a grain
of salt.
@chunkymonkey loves it.

Beautiful shot!
Love the colour and reflection. ::yes::

Pro tip.
Before you enter the shooting
area, start shooting at a blank
wall so you can see where
the dot is in relation to where
you're aiming.

It helps.
That looks like an amazing RB Float. Will have to remember that one.
It was good. :)
Refer to my note at the start. They gave you a couple extra minutes thinking you might be more sore at the end of the day ;). In all seriousness I hope it eased off relatively quickly.
It did ease off.
I got lucky.
I've had times when I've literally
fallen to the ground and not being

able to get up again for a few days.

In real life, does this roller coaster look small, or is the building that is going up around it bigger than Space Mountain? It is hard to tell by looking at these photos.
It looks much bigger IRL.
I don't know about the size
of the building, but the track
length will only be a bit shorter
than Space Mountain.
(If it's the same as Shanghai's.

3,169' vs 3,196'/3,186'.)
Love the Ariel photos! You had quite the afternoon with her!
We had a very nice time...
up until she picked IASW...

I may have to break off
our engagement.

Tragic, really.

I went to the bathroom
and might have squealed
in pain as I partially threw
my back out.
Oh.

Oh my.

Until the alarm blared at 5:15am.
Buy why??

I was the first guest of the day on 7DMT.
Oh, that's why.

<yawn!>
Still tired...
This is phenomenal. Please tell me you wore the robe around all morning.

Speaking of favourite ride,
I was simply beside myself
with fright when I rode HM.
What sorcery is this??

I headed across the hub
and into Adventureland.
GREAT photos! I love the B&W one especially.

with no wait was a much
better option.
Geez how long do you think that guy has been waiting?

The offer of three anytime FPs
didn't hurt either.
And free ice cream!

And... it must be done...
Okay good, we can allow you to continue as a TR creator. You have passed the test.

Love this guy.
Look at that grin.

I offered to let him hold it, but he
surprised me by saying that he
wasn't allowed to touch guests'
cameras.
Dude's got a lot of random rules to follow.

My frozen Coke came moments later.
Nothing sounds better than a frozen Coke at this exact moment.

I just can't imagine standing in
line for the chance to slowly
jerk around a track.
Nope. Not for me.
Same! Although I'll have to ride it eventually so that I can say I have...

There was one joke that I hadn't heard before.
:rotfl:

If it was you... thanks!
It is my deepest honor to accept thanks on behalf of whomever gave you that advice because it certainly was not me.

She quickly nodded, I picked
her up (fins... you know...)
and we headed out for some
rides.
This just might be my favorite thing ever.

Let me check.

Yep. It is.

I've tried that...
I don't really care for it. Sorry!
More for me, then! :) The great thing about Disney snacks is that there is such variety. Definitely something for everyone!
I did.
I could choose one or
the other. I took the FPs.
That's interesting. When I did the tour in 2018 I got the $75 gift card and three anytime FPs. It was at the main presentation centre though so maybe the incentives are different there.
I looked a bit into buying
points from outside of Disney...
But their new legacy rules

really ticked me off.
You mean with Riveria and future DVC properties?? It didn't bother me at all as I bought where I want to stay. Even though my contract expires in 2042, it gives me 22 years of Disney to enjoy. I will probably buy another 100-150 points as I would like to have a total of 300 points eventually. But 150 is a great start and I love BRV!
It's not the details, theming
or multiculturalism that bugs me...
You mean you don't love that charming and inspirational song that gets played over and over and over again????

Oh.

Oh my.
Not a great thing. :sad1:
Buy why??
Reasons...
Oh, that's why.
See? Reasons!
This is phenomenal. Please tell me you wore the robe around all morning.
No, I didn't.
I wore it off the ride
and through the exit...

But that's as far as it went.
What sorcery is this??
The ghostly kind.
GREAT photos! I love the B&W one especially.
Thank you! :)
Geez how long do you think that guy has been waiting?
In full sun?
In the Florida heat?

15 minutes?
And free ice cream!
I didn't get free ice cream!
Now I feel ripped off!

Okay good, we can allow you to continue as a TR creator. You have passed the test.
Phew! Close one!
Look at that grin.
Right!?!?! :goodvibes

I still can't figure out
the camera one.

I think I have... before you were born.
It is my deepest honor to accept thanks on behalf of whomever gave you that advice because it certainly was not me.
Okay...
You were one of a small group
so that narrows it down...
This just might be my favorite thing ever.

Let me check.

Yep. It is.
Glad you liked it. :)

Very true. :)

Huh.
I had a choice between
the two... and my GC was

only for... I think $25 or $50.

Can I ask about that?
Where did you get your points?
How were you able to chose
where they were?
And... what's BRV?

Boardwalk Resort Villa?
You mean you don't love that charming and inspirational song that gets played over and over and over again????
Lady, there's a reason why
I carry my earbuds with me
when I'm in MK.
Just in case I somehow wind
up on that ride... then I can
listen to Aerosmith (at full

volume) instead.

I bought through DVC resale market. There are others out there though, just google DVC resales and a bunch will come up. After staying at Wilderness Lodge this summer (Copper Creek Villas) we knew we would like to own there. We didn't care for the busyness of the main lobby or main pool but really liked how tranquil and relaxed Boulder Ridge Villas (that's what BRV stands for) was. The Boulder Ridge Cove pool has free cabanas (yes, free! At Disney....I couldn't believe it either.), Geyser Point is right there, beautiful walking trails exist over to Fort Wilderness, boat transportation to MK etc etc. It was the perfect fit for us. I knew I wanted enough points for a week and potentially a long weekend so 150 seemed like a good place to start. I will probably add more as if we did a big family trip with the boys it would be awesome to have a two bedroom unit. Quite the change from all five of us in a room and sharing a bed with squirmy little ones!

I loved WL and would probably
also love BRV.
Wonder if there's any more points
available... Hmmm....

I just spied a new resale contract for Boulder Ridge. 170 points at $105/point for a total of $19,324. Plus the resort is coming due for a refurb in 2022 so now is a good time to get in. It is an awesome resort. :)
