SW flight change is not as fun when they actually change your flight. they cancelled the late direct flight from HOU-MCO, so we may have to fly into TPA instead. I'm more worried about not being able to get the Visitor's Toll Pass than the actual drive. With 6 trips this year, maybe it's time to get our own tollpass?

Definitely no fun when they do the changes. I had 6 people booked. A set of 4 and 2 individuals. The set of 4 was changed from a direct 5hr flight to one with 4 changes and 11hrs. The other 2 became 8 hr flights.

I assume there’s nothing else that works then? You could hold out a slim hope that they aren’t done making changes and a new option pops up... Did they send you an email that your flight was cancelled?

SW sent an email about an hour ago that the flight had changed. My first thought was "yeah!" until I realized that they really changed it. They rebooked us onto flights earlier in the day, but I don't want to pull the kids out of school for a weekend trip. We haven't flown into TPA before, but the flight times work. Looks like it should only be about 30 minutes further drive to our house. Shuttle to rental cars. Any feedback on TPA airport at 11pm?

Eta- Think I'm going to bury my head in the sand until tomorrow and just hope that our preferred flight magically reappears.

I fell down a rabbit hole trying to book a last minute weekend trip to WDW. Flights and rooms AREN'T synching up so I have abandoned that.

Sorry it didn't work out. We just booked another last minute trip and wound up doing something we haven't done in a while for WDW. There were no DVC studios or 1 bdrms. I don't want to pay a lot of real money for the trip either. $95 is fine though. So we decided to book using DVC points on the hotel side. Not the greatest use of DVC points but it worked out. The last time we did DVC points for hotel side was VGC.

Glad that worked out for you! Our upcoming trip was booked 4 months in advance which is the least far in advance I have done. I was thinking of doing the same as you if I couldn’t get a DVC room.

Are synching up or aren't synching up?? I'm still trying to piece together our early feb trip to take dd down and resorts are ridiculous prices and pretty much sold out. I blame it all on SWGE

On the bright side, At least once your DD gets there and through traditions she should be able to get you a good discount on a room for your next visit!

Where are you again? And where is she from? And representative how? Because Disney would be or Washington DC or any major US city. It depends on what you want to show her away from where you live. Though I think where she's from would play a big part in where I'd think to take her as well.

We are in Oklahoma and she’s a 5th grader from Spain. D.C would be cool but it might be too cold for me. I was also thinking NYC, but I don’t like the cold, but then neither DH or our kids have been to NYC.

My SW card FINALLY arrived last night! Already working on that MSR with some expenses I've been waiting to put on the card. I'd like to earn the miles in Feb so I have the CP before our March flights.

Apparently DH has been hard at work on earning his Hilton Surpass free night as well. I reminded him it's Jan, he can pace himself! LOL. In all seriousness, now long after you spend the $15k do you get the free night certificate? I'd like to use it on our August, Seattle trip if possible.

I have lots of Hilton FNC. Any suggestions on where to use them in early June? We are on the East Coast and I need a break from Orlando. And with the SW loophole it will make a nice 4 days get away (Thurs-Sun) after DS’s 8th graduation. We have our big trip to AUS in Aug so this is just something fun to hold us over.

If I have a Retail Me Not that says we will do our part by 1/16 and it still shows pending does that mean it did not track or might it load later in the day? It was for the disaster of the dishwasher purchase, which I did return, but I was hoping it would still track since I had to buy the 2nd one in store.

You could call in to see if they are done changing the schedule. At least then you’d know what you’re working with. It’s been a long time since I flew into Tampa but when I did, I got in late at night. What specifically is your concern about that airport at 11pm? The food situation, or rental cars, or safety?

Not sure what time the earlier Orlando flight is, but could you pickup the kids at school on an early dismissal and head straight to the airport so they missed minimal class time?

My home airport is TPA, however I've never had to use a rental car here. I've arrived several times around 11pm, and have always felt safe. The airport is very easy to navigate (they use the monorail system to get from the terminals to the main hub where the ticketing/baggage claim areas are). Very easy to get to WDW from there, if that is what you're doing - especially at that time of night.

Can you try to cancel now - it might give you the option to keep them as travel funds in lieu of a refund. If not, it should remain open for a few days. Maybe Sunday at the latest / somebody who got the actual email could probably tell us the window.
