Does anyone know when the SW window ends? I’m trying to use my play credits, but couldn’t find flights I could change to within the window. I’m hoping to give them 24 hours to post, then cancel for travel funds and use those to rebook my flight

It ends at midnight on 1/19

A minor glitch SW had some direct flights coming home in April. I no longer see them as options in their schedule. I’m still seeing them in my upcoming trips. Hopefully it’s just a glitch that will clear up tomorrow.

The direct flight I changed to also disappeared from the schedule. I just called and they said it was canceled. You might want to call with another flight in mind that you prefer.

Holy smokes, just conned dh into a last minute (well for us anyway) trip to WDW to see Rick Springfield at the Flower and Garden festival!!! We were supposed to be done for awhile, but you know, Rick + AP + DVC + Airline miles = yeehaw!!!! Of course I can't get the same room for all 5 night yet, I will keep trying, but I did find rooms at least for all nights. It's also Star Wars race weekend, but who cares LOL, I'm going!

Woohoo! Sounds great, I talked to my DH into an unplanned trip for Flower and Garden too. Wish ours was when Rick was there, but I am still happy to be going.

Ahhhh, I can see where that would be a pain!!! I had an incident at TSA (fun story for a later time!), but I didn't have to go back to the ticket counter. It would be nice if that would've been caught by the agents that check your info before getting onto the trains.

I am a crazy/anxious person that has to be at the airport at least 2 hours early, no matter what. That TSA incident made me very grateful for my craziness

I like to be that early too. Especially in the winter when we have a 2 hour drive to the airport - you never know what the conditions are like. We had a snowstorm in November for our last trip and ended up driving down the night before to ease our worry.

Well either I screwed something up or the "new" w4 estimator is drunk, because it says we should get a 10K return if we continue as is. Ummm that would be cool but I don't think so. We usually get between 3-4K and most of that is just the child tax credit.

I fortunately don't have to worry about snow - I would do the same in your position! I'd rather sit and wait (eat, have coffee, read, do work) than be rushing and worried. I do have colleagues that scoot into the airport maybe 45 min before their flight, especially if they just have a carry-on. I get anxious FOR them!

SW sent an email about an hour ago that the flight had changed. My first thought was "yeah!" until I realized that they really changed it. They rebooked us onto flights earlier in the day, but I don't want to pull the kids out of school for a weekend trip. We haven't flown into TPA before, but the flight times work. Looks like it should only be about 30 minutes further drive to our house. Shuttle to rental cars. Any feedback on TPA airport at 11pm?

Eta- Think I'm going to bury my head in the sand until tomorrow and just hope that our preferred flight magically reappears.

I fly into tampa a lot. No issues. I like it better than MCO, less of a zoo IMO. You take a monorail thing to the rental cars.

We are in Oklahoma and she’s a 5th grader from Spain. D.C would be cool but it might be too cold for me. I was also thinking NYC, but I don’t like the cold, but then neither DH or our kids have been to NYC.

Neither should be that cold if your fall break is in Oct. One advantage to DC so much of it is free but it also depends on what you want to show her and do yourself. NYC would be more of a mix of history and entertainment.

Now on another note, can I get some pixie dust or some kind of Disney magic sent my way? I'm currently kinda dating a pilot. He's a pretty decent guy, and I wouldn't mind locking in those free flights, LOL. And yes, I've told him I plan on using him for his travel perks. I keep asking when we're hopping a plane to head south and get some Zaxbys on a date, LOL. I'm CRAVING Zaxbys HARD! LOL.

I have lots of Hilton FNC. Any suggestions on where to use them in early June? We are on the East Coast and I need a break from Orlando. And with the SW loophole it will make a nice 4 days get away (Thurs-Sun) after DS’s 8th graduation. We have our big trip to AUS in Aug so this is just something fun to hold us over.

Looks like Hertz found my rental car. I got no call nor email from anyone, but they just sent a bill giving a time that the car was returned...3 days before they contacted DH saying that the car was overdue! I assume this is over, but I will have DH call tomorrow just to make sure. All this headache for absolutely nothing!

Can you try to cancel now - it might give you the option to keep them as travel funds in lieu of a refund. If not, it should remain open for a few days. Maybe Sunday at the latest / somebody who got the actual email could probably tell us the window.

Thank you for the info. Just a quick look and we would need less Hyatt points for DC, Hyatt Place National mall is 12k a night. NYC would be 20k/night. AND I like free stuff.

Have you looked at Uniqlo?

Checked it out. End of season so colors are limited but looks good. Do you have this? How is the fit (big, small, right on)?

I bought the Lands End version when it was 40% off. It is so lightweight, packs down quite small, yet is very warm. It worked very well with a shirt and hoodie underneath when we were on our tiger safari drives in India (open vehicles, 40 degrees). A warning though---the men's version is different from the women's and does not pack down as small because it's made from a different material.

I didn't think of LE. Checked them out and I didn't see a packable one with a hood. I would want a hood but maybe should think about wearing a hoodie underneath for the hood. There is still a 30% off coupon out there.

I also found one by 32 degrees. Great sale price ($24.99 down from $100). The reviews are mixed though - some with feathers coming out. Maybe too good a price. I am looking for under $100. The Patagonia ones look great but at $200+ not worth it for as much as I think I will use.
