Last Friday 1/31 was a bad day for the attraction, and our BG 63 wasn't called until 6:30. Our Sci Fi ADR was at 6:45. We asked a GET CM about our ADR just before our BG was called and were assured the restaurants (in DHS, at least) were being quite adaptable and understanding regarding RotR BGs interfering with ADRs. We enjoyed RotR and showed up for our ADR at 7:30 and just had to wait a little bit before being seated. It wasn't a problem at all.
That is good to hear. I wonder if restaurants outside of DHS are also being this flexible.

Yep! That’s what I have. Opening the App is slower at home now but everything else seems to be working fine. We’ll see what happens when we’re at DHS next week! 🤞

App woes...can’t even get to main screen let alone “find out more.” So I updated and now the app is very unreliable. Sometimes it won’t open at all, just crashes at the purple castle screen. Sometimes it opens and has no option for “my plans” which makes me think it’s not fully connecting to my account. This is not a “sign in” issue because it DOES have my hotel and ticket info..,just no “plans.” Also, it seems most likely to crash if I’ve just closed the app down and tried to restart within a short amount of time. If I leave it alone for 30 minutes or so, it works again. I’m wondering if version 5.8 is problematic on older phones (IPhone 7)...? Maybe the folks with crashing issues are in the same boat?? Headed to GE in 3 weeks and hoping to have it worked out by then.

For folks who leave it open, do your people “show up” in the “select your party” page or have you had to restart?
Not your iPhone 7. I have an 8 and my wife has the iPhone X and have had the same thing. A friend of mine has an Android and his is fine. Just the 5.8 update having problems on iPhones.

If the ride goes down while you are in line, has anyone succeeded in getting a return FP if you have and ADR or FP coming up.
We were in line when it went down today, and the second time it went down we happened to be beside one of the emergency exit doors with a CM at it. We had 15 min left to get to our RNRC FP, so we asked if we could leave and go to it and get a FP to return later and she said sure. She didn’t even seem to do it begrudgingly, which I thought she might do since I was asking just because of a FP. When I left the line to go to the bathroom and was being led back by a CM there was a group leaving, and they got a FP to return simply because they didn’t want to wait. So it appears they are being very liberal with the recovery fps.

Hi All - read posts 1 and 2 and some comments. Are normal boarding groups really filling within 1 minute?! We have wife, and 3 kids. I’m not sure I can get everyone into the park ready to go at 7am sharp.
I thought things would settle a bit after the holidays but it doesn’t seem so based off some charts shown.
Thank you-
Ryan

Yup. That's been the case. I'll be down there for one shot at a BG on Feb. 27. Me, wife, 3 kids. Just make sure everyone riding is in the park before 8 am opening. So, arriving by 7:30 should be enough for security and entrance. Maybe 7:20 with the double stroller. Park opens at 8. I assume you're not planning on rope drop, so no need to be extra early. But, if you can drag them there, just get them there and you can still rest a little if needed on a bench or wall or even outside the park.

And another, it seems that there are fewer "guaranteed" BGs that are only lasting the first minute, but backup groups tend to continue for at least a little while, even almost 2 hours. Even getting a backup group tends to mean still having a decent probability, depending on how the ride operates that day. They tend to get through a good number of backup groups most days also. Welcome to this board. This board should be renamed to reflect our identity as the Cult of The Chart! :rotfl2:

Now I’m debating leaving the Fam back at the hotel, getting there early and rope dropping millennium falcon and joining BG. I didn’t get a FP for millennium as I didn’t realize they added them after I already booked all my fast passes day after Christmas.
How early do I need to be there to rope drop millennium??

thanks all!

If the rest of your family is going to ride Rise, they have to be in the park before it opens in order to get a boarding group for all of you. If only you're in the park, only you'll be able to be part of the group because when it asks you who is part of your group, because they haven't tapped in at the tapstiles, it won't recognize them as eligible party members and you won't be able to add them if they come into the park later. If only you plan to ride Rise though, then it doesn't matter as long as you're inside the park.

Yep, sorry, should have mentioned my family would be ok with missing.
They’re 4,3, and 7 months. DH is ok missing it.
Boys 4 and 3 are both tall and are 40’, just don’t know if it’d be a little scary for them.....

Would love folks to share the timing of their morning with the 8AM opening, especially if rope dropping MFSR - it’s been so helpful to see that for the 7AM opens

We are going for try number 1 today. Left Grand Floridian via car at 6:10. Arrived at HS at 6:20. Through bag check and in line at 6:30. So far super easy, but I did do the update on my phone last night before reading about the issues people were having with it. There are three of us and four phones between us. I-phones 8, 7 & 6 and and an Android.

Gates opened at 7:03 and we tapped in at 7:08. We were behind a family that had little ones in a stroller and issues with a magic band. Now we are sitting on Sunset Blvd waiting.

Since the update the Disney app continues to crash on my iPhone 5s. Heading down in three weeks. I guess I won’t be going on the ride.
