I think you have to compete the interview 12 months after you pay

I wondered if there was a time limit. I paid for DDs in January and haven't been able to finish the process yet. Are you in the Pittsburgh area? We noticed there was no appts listed there. I wondered if you could walk in.

Yes, I was hoping the Fed would extend the process, I'm in central PA. Not that this is of any importance in the grand scheme of things...

I was just at Sams and Kroger. Spent $200 at one and $250 at the other. Eeek. Hope it lasts awhile, but don't really feel like i bought all that much. I swear Kroger had no sales. Anyway, I would say maybe 10 people tops in each store with masks. I was one of them. The rest where in pairs or more and just doing their regular lolly gagging shopping. I was on a mission, knew what I wanted and was in and out. Well as fast as you can be in and out spending that much. lol Many older couples, many kids etc.
I have not seen any children in stores but OMG a ton of seniors!

I think amazon has everything, some things you pay for to stream.
I have Netflix and Disney+. So if it isn't on there, I am probably going to hold out. I'm not that into any movies that I have to see ASAP. I think I saw Frozen a year after it came out on DVD.
I had Sling but until college football or Olympics come back, I just could not justify paying for it. We are so old school we get broadcast over the airwaves.

In CC news, DH is now the proud owner of a BBP! As our overall spending has decreased, so has our AmEx so I was glad he didn’t get a pop up.
This makes me want to try with Amex again. Except it would be hard with making MSR right now. I have a CIP I am working on, Hopefully DH will have a CIP (waiting on decision) and still finishing his BBP ($1200 left). Without being able to travel or do MS, it is hard for me.

I was just thinking I saw mostly singles today at the store. Last couple of weeks there were still families and groups of people grocery shopping. I saw two shipt shoppers discussing their jobs LOL but they were standing at least 15 feet apart
We were suppose to have our TSA Pre Check appts next week but I just moved them to May. Didn’t seem like that would be an essential appointment when we no longer have flights in April. Who knows if or May or July or even September (that one darn better) happen, but since it’s good for 5 years we are going to get it now anyway still
DS is wondering if SW is going to do anything for CP holders that expire this year. Kinda wondering that myself.

They haven’t mandated solo shopping here, but they have suggested it. That will be tough for single parents. However, we do have new rules that started Friday. Stores are only allowed to have half of their customer capacity inside at one time, so there are lines outside with people standing six feet apart. Only every other register can be opened, there should be plexiglass shields up to protect the cashiers, and cart handles must be wiped after use by an employee. Also, aisles are now one way. I havent been shopping for two weeks, but I plan to go Monday or Tuesday. Not sure how much longer the trip will take now. My only question is if we are allowed to pass in the aisles. Passing doesn’t allow for a six foot distance between customers, but I have my list organized by sections, and I just want to get in and get out. I don’t want to wait behind someone dawdling over what brand of pasta to buy, lol.

I am seeing this too. But a few couples - mom and one teen or a pair of seniors. More singles are better. The more people in the store, the more they clog up the aisles.

I found a video on how to make a cloth face mask with a bandanna and hair ties. I'm going to use that next time I have to go to the store. I'm not sure if everyone gets that it is not to protect yourself, but to protect others from you shedding the virus. So it isn't going to make me feel more protected, just weird.

My neighbors are driving me crazy. I understand that stay at home doesn't mean their kids have to stay in the house. I am fine seeing them play in their yard. But yesterday there were kids from 4 different houses over there playing tag. And I see the parents leave for work every day. So it is just like all of those families are going out and are all exposed. It is not that hard to understand! Isolate your kids to just your family living in your house!

I'm so glad my afternoon runs this week should be warmer, mid 30s this morning with wind made for a chilly first mile and a quarter.

Had a global chat with two of my dis friends, who are actual friends now but still dis friends, this morning. One in PA, one in the UK and me in WA. It was nice to see their faces and chat vs text in messenger.

Made our masks, something I never thought I'd be doing. Used stuff I had already, would have preferred white elastic but was just glad I had some.20200404_140223.jpg Things like that make it seem more unreal then the shopping and working from home but it's still hard to wrap my head around this being the norm for now.

Going to watch The Terminator for my 80s movie and see if there's anything good in the shop disney mystery sale so i can add more to my msr. Beginning to think I'll still hit spend on time since I'm doing all the grocery shopping and mom's giving me money for her stuff.

Ahhhh. And there’s the fine print I was looking for. “May not be combined with any other discount or promotion.” So I can’t use the “sun and fun” promo with the free dining. Which would make it a wash in terms of savings, if not more expensive.
Yeah, it really all comes down to how you dine at Disney. We stay Value and usually QS over TS anyway so if we needed to buy tickets (or had APs, I think it's available for AP holders w/o tickets, but don't quote me on that) it'd probably work for us with the new dining plan structure. But it's very YMMV just like any other FD promo depending on rack rate for your time frame... oh geez and now ticket pricing, keep forgetting about that. Sucks, sorry :(

Saw the same video. Will use it tomorrow at the store. My sister sewed us some masks and they were supposed to arrive today but our mail carrier often doesn’t deliver all of our Saturday mail ☹️

We really liked Onward. Maybe not the best Disney movie ever, but definitely worth watching if you have Disney +

In puzzle news, the Kinkade Lion King one is done and put away again, and Mickey Mouse is just getting started. I am really glad I found a dozen of these a few years ago, at reasonable prices and in small boxes (we have storage issues here).

I really wish I had a sewing machine and knew how to sew right now. I can hand stitch stuff fine, but I don't think I can make masks. Kudos for those of you who can make your own!

This is what I used as reference and you could easily hand stitch them, it would just take a bit longer obviously :) It's all straight stitches and you could skip the part where she sews all the way around once it's right side out if you ironed the seams after turning it right side out.

I just realized the flights we are supposed to be taking back from our cancelled NYC trip had a 3 hour flight change. Yay! I'm pretty sure that qualifies for a refund even if the change was made ages ago and I didn't really notice. However, that one was paid with Amex MR credit card points. I am curious to see if it gets credited back to the card and Amex leaves it as a statement credit or if they will convert it back MR points once it is credited back. I haven't looked for any DPs on that. A statement credit would be nice since I am now part of camp furloughed. But, points are fine too.
