"Official" 2020 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - Poor Unfortunate Souls (2020 MNSSHP CANCELLED)

We have a October trip planned but obviously not sure the parks will be open.

Are we safe to buy tickets now assuming if it is closed or the party cancelled that they will be refunded?

My opinion is there’s no real need to buy tickets now. Unless you’re talking 10/31, parties rarely sell out more than than day of, a few days
, or in more isolated cases weeks in advance. I’d personally keep the cash, watch how things progress, and then make decisions later on when we know more about how Disney will operate going forward. In my humble opinion.

I am like you don't know if I should buy the tickets now or wait , This was our re-scheduled trip

Thinking of getting tickets to MNSSHP for October. We've never been and I'm just wondering if someone could give me a little more info about the Hocus Pocus show.
Is it in front of the castle or somewhere else? What's it like?
Thanks

It is in front of the castle, like the normal stage shows! It was cute, and if I'm remembering right, about 15 to 20 minutes long. I'm not a huge fan of Hocus Pocus (I know, I'm like the only one!) lol. But I saw it because it happened while we had spots for parade/fireworks.

Yes, it’s in front of the castle. If you don’t mind spoilers, you can watch the video below. The video is from 2018 although I don’t think the show was materially different in 2019 (someone chime in if I have that wrong).

While I know many people love this show and especially villains, this one is a pass for me. I get bored/antsy/ready to do something else after 10 minutes. I do think everyone should experience things for themselves just to see so don’t take my word for it, it’s just normally an easy pass for us in lieu of other party activities or rides.

We rescheduled our spring break trip to August and was hoping to go to the first party. I know it's typically very crowded and usually sold out, but with all that's going on this year, does anyone think crowds may be lower? Of course, that's assuming Disney is open by then and the party doesn't get canceled.

If it helps, in the times I've done the party I never bought tickets this early. I know 2 years ago I bought tickets for a September party in August, and last year for one of our parties I didn't get tickets until *about* 2 weeks prior to leaving. Maybe less? I can't remember right now but it was a do-over trip from a hurricane a few weeks prior so we didn't have much time to prepare. I was able to get my tickets (the party later sold out closer to the date) and get FP+ for 7DMT, Jungle Cruise and Buzz at that late date.

I have a couple of thoughts on this, and some of my family were talking yesterday about trying to plan a fall trip. I'm not there yet for a few reasons.

I think the first party, if Disney does continue with parties, will still be crowded because it's a big media night. If Disney does some sort of modifications for the party (which I do think they will, if they have the parties) then the bloggers/vloggers will definitely be at the first party to get that info. on their pages/sites/etc. ASAP.

I have seen both on here and spoke with friends and family who are rescheduling to the Fall, most during Halloween party season. For that reason, I would think it *could* be more crowded....

But... I'm also thinking that in a continued effort to maintain safe social distancing, Disney may modify not only the parks/shows/restaurants/etc. but also the parties. None of us knows that that may look like, but I wouldn't be surprised by shows and parades being put on hold. Or less tickets sold so they parties aren't overcrowded. These are only my thoughts and the next few months will be a time to just watch and see what transpires.

We didn't reschedule our cancelled trip, and we're just waiting to see what the next few months bring. If... and that's a HUGE if... we would go in the Fall I would love to do the party again. I just don't see it happening for us this year though. I will say that in talking with extended family yesterday about them rescheduling their trips I got that "Disney-pang' and really wanted to plan something!

I bought my MNSSHP tickets about a week ago. I'm not concerned about the parks being closed (IMHO, the parks will be open by October, but with restrictions). I'm concerned about WDW reducing capacity to aide with social distancing. If they reduce the number of tickets sold, I wanted to make sure I had my ticket.

Trying to decide what to do. I'm worried they may reduce # of tickets, so I want to be sure we get tickets before they potentially sell out. BUT I don't want to go at all if the parade is cancelled.

If we buy now, then Disney modifies the experience making it not worth going (to us), we can't get a refund, correct? Or sell them to someone else?

I’d wait a month. DeSantis is dropping all kinds of info this coming week. He already said he doesn’t want to open theaters, to close environment. Not good, think Haunted Mansion, ROTR, Mickey’s Philharmonic etc.

Our plans were for the week of March 16:sad: Luckily we decided to cancel(news of the virus was spreading and my gut told me NO) before our long drive down from CT. What really clinched it was the fact that Spring Training was no go for our game on the 19Th..
So we switched to October my Bday week of October 18th. That again was switched to the week of August 9th. My daughter a teacher really needs a break so thats the week we could go before shes heads back to the new school year.
:tink:
Sooooo were going to the very 1st MNSSHP on August 13th.party:pixiedust:

I pray we all stay well and the parks open up sooner than later.

I'm currently booked for 8/9, as of now it's looking like a no go for me. I also work for the schools, but NYC. We had plans for the 13th party too. I haven't canceled anything yet. I want to wait and see but my husband is a bit nervous. Hopefully one day. I miss Disney.

Awwww dont cancel. If anything you can go to Disney Springs and enjoy your hotel. Thats what we figured we do. Worst comes to worst we'll wear our masks and gloves to the parks.:(

2nd
That's a possibility too. We will just have to wait and see. If we can get our money back for the flights (even a credit) then we may just cancel. We just have to wait and see. I have 3 hotels booked!! GF and WL, both club level and then one of the Disney Springs hotels.

Have Sep trip planned from Australia. Booked 13 Sep party too. I can't see us making it. I hope they will be nice enough and give us some form of refund, or at least credit to re-book for 2021.
