You don’t want it to come to denying guests at the gate. It causes angst, and pileup. People in stressed situations like that are more unaware of their surroundings causing possible build up of close contact

I feel like it goes both ways though with the denying people at the gate. Presumably people will have much more knowledge about what they are getting into after the fact. But it seems similar to the RotR boarding groups. You still have people showing up every day upset that they can't ride and didn't know they wouldn't be able to. I think it really depends on how necessary the reservations are. If they are actually expecting demand to WAY exceed capacity on a daily basis, then yeah it is needed. And it sounds like that is what Disney thinks is going to happen. I wonder if they are being optimistic, erring on the side of caution, or a little of both. I don't see it being necessary to the point that it will inconvenience and annoy people planning. Maybe they need it only for a park or 2 a couple times a week. That wouldn't be a big deal. But until we know that, it's going to create a lot of anxiety for people like us, but maybe not so much the normal Disney guest who gets to be blissfully unaware of all this stuff until their trip.

Projects that aren’t far along, or haven’t started yet will likely get the axe, temporarily or permanently
Chapek specifically rejected this idea, said good ideas before are still good ideas now. Delays, not axes
Fair, but risky. Especially if the employees not given shifts aren’t able to collect unemployment
That’s not how furlough works with unemployment in the US.. You lose it when YOU are called back, not when someone is called back.

I was wondering about this. If they need way less CMs to start, that means someones furlough could be extended until they specifically are given a shift? Doesn't matter to me since apparently I'm never going to get any unemployment anyway.
