Hi All,

It's been a day. Not bad just lots moving parts. I was offered a job this morning and ultimately ended up declining the position. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and I know it's not going to be the best news and need more scans and figure out treatment soon. My Matt got great offer for a job that in outskirts of Chicago, which isn't quite commuting distance here. He is going to try to negotiate splitting time between here and there and staying at his sister's house to commute in I think. We will see. Just too many moving parts lately.

We went to Costco this evening after dinner. Still no fresh chicken but plenty beef and pork and frozen chicken options. Plenty of water and TP, PT. I didn't see lot of cleaning products, which we didn't need. I also picked up alcohol popsicles. That will be fun for summer especially if my girlfriends get over here to visit. Seems like a world away.

Dinner tonight was beef sandwiches with peppers and onions and mushrooms with green beans.

Gratitude:
Job opportunities
Good friends, I miss them and just want to hug them
Blessed to be able shop and get what we need and more we want

Peace and blessings to all

Question of the day: 5/21 How many states have you lived in? Would you move again?

Have you moved often or lived in lots places? Being in the Army, we moved quite a bit but not as much as some. We've lived in 5 states in between our deployments. After 3 years in this house, I'm getting the itch to move though not as easy as used to be since the Army doesn't move us around anymore. I told Matt that whomever buys this house will love all the pictures and furniture and the stylish clothes lol. I'll pack one suitcase and go on my way and start new.

First--sending you prayers and pixie dust for your Drs appt tomorrow Tina, I hope it goes better than you expect it too.! :grouphug:
I have lived in 3 cities in MA and 1 in MD. I was born in Holyoke, MA, grew up in Agawam, then moved to Chicopee. Lived there until I moved to MD in 2000. I will never get the itch to move again, I am getting too old and it's too much work!

Have been a legal resident of two states: NYS and MA. Enjoyed my time in both places:).

Tonight was time to tackle the crab legs part of the restaurant leftovers.
Took some ghee (butter with the whey removed) out of the freezer and simmered it w/ some garlic slivers, smoked sweet paprika, salt ( I use sweet butter generally) and chopped ramps to make a seasoned clarified butter. Nuked the crab legs for 1 minute @ 60% after I whacked em with my chef's knife to make the shell easier to open. Served with baby corn in a green salad and sliced bell peppers and the last of the radishes.

 Tina, prayers your appointment indeed goes positively tomorrow.

I am a CA gal through and through....except for being born in NY. I moved out here at less than a year old so am pretty much a CA Native. I have lived way far up in Northern, CA a couple different times in my life. I mostly have lived in SoCal.

So our state opened phase 1 yesterday, but many stores have decided to remain closed. We have a woman on the town open forum who was so angry that people had the nerve to go out during the lockdown, that she only took her dog for a drive in the car and she felt that NOBODY should be going to stores, even grocery shopping could be delivered. Now that same woman is angry that the Christmas Tree Shop (among others) has decided to remain closed for now :rolleyes2 Happy that our library opened the book drop yesterday, so I was able to return our almost-2-months-past-due books (technically...but I looked today and they've all been listed as "due 6-1-2020"). They will be starting curbside pickup on Tuesday, so we can at least get some actual books soon! I've been buying books for my tablet, but unfortunately they've all been stinkers. I hate not being able to actually read a few pages to get a feel for the story. Good thing none of them cost more than $5.

I am having some difficulty with the little girl who lives next door. She is 9 (and my son is only 4.5). I am trying to be kind, as I know this time is very difficult on these kids, and she's an only child like Josh, so I'm sure she's lonely. But every blasted time we're outside - which is a lot right now - she comes over here! Yesterday she was out front with her parents when Josh and I walked by. She asked if we were coming over, and I said, "No, we're taking our walk like we do every day." She said, "Oh. I guess I'll see you when you get back." I didn't respond. When we returned, with the way we approached our house, we can go straight into the backyard and avoid the front. Josh wanted to play in the back anyway, so we got about an hour in without being bothered. But then I made the mistake of going out front to get the mail, and the girl saw us. She actually got mad that we'd been out back the whole time and she didn't know it. She demanded to know what was in the box that got delivered (it was my husband's CPAP supplies...thrillsville) and wanted us to open it so she could see it. Nope. Then she said, "I'll see you in the back" and when we got there, she was waiting. She then rummaged through our deck box, pulling out one toy after another, using each one for about 5 seconds before literally dropping it where she stood and getting something else. She threw a frisbee at me and thought it was funny when it hit me (I was picking something else up and didn't see her throw it). She dumped an entire bottle of bubbles out on the patio.

Today she found us in the front yard and even my mother was trying to ignore her. She actually had the nerve to ask us for food! She complained that her father eats all the Doritos so she never gets any, and literally begged us to give her some Doritos. She also goes right into our garage and looks around for something to play with - she can't stay away from the dang bubbles - and picks on Josh when he tries to tell one of his (admittedly far-fetched) stories. I was so glad when her father called her back to take a ride with him somewhere. I feel like we can't even go outside in our own yard anymore. My husband can't stand her and tries to ignore her, but she just doesn't get it. The thing is, there's a family catty-corner to us that has a girl close to her age, and I think they go to the same school. Why doesn't she go bother them???

On a better note, I've had several computer games that haven't worked correctly in months...I've googled how to fix them, and I've tried so many things, I can't even remember half of them. I found something new today and I was beyond gobsmacked that it actually worked! I've got all my games back! Now if I only had time to actually play them...

I also meant to mention that Josh and I are doing The ABCs of Gratitude, as I call it. My SIL in suggested it...write the alphabet on a piece of paper, and try to things for which you are grateful that start with that letter. I decided to do one letter every day with Josh, to make it last. We've done A through F so far. Today, he is grateful for French fries, Florida, friends, football, Friday, and fun. My list was family, friends, food, Florida, flowers, flip-flops, faith, and freedom.

Now to play catch-up...
Question of the day 5/20: What is your best trait? What is your worst trait?
Best - I'm loyal and honest (to a fault).
Worst - I'm moody, over-sensitive, and lazy.

I've lived in 3 states - my first home was in Indiana (born in Illinois, though). My mother and I moved to Connecticut a few months before my 2nd birthday. I moved to Massachusetts when I married DH in 2011, but we moved back to Connecticut 3 years later. I can't decide about moving. It's hard for me to fathom - my grandparents bought this house in 1973 and it's so hard to think about giving it up. But I'm tired of CT. I want to go to Florida. In fact, just 2 nights ago I was looking at listings in Clearwater and Largo on realtor.com...

OMG, I thought that possibly I was the only person who did that. The grocery store where I shop was in the middle of a remodel when COVID hit. I didn't know where anything was anymore and wanted to get in and out without the searching. They had copies of the store directory for customers so I brought one home and type out my list on the computer and organize by aisle number.

I do that too.....makes it so much easier

I have lived in Four states - Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Georgia. Would I move again - yes, we talk about it often. Not sure it would necessarily be out of state or to a different part of the state. I would also consider NC or NC too. Our dream though is to live in Italy. We could do it probably (husband has dual citizenshipP, but is seems very daunting.

Good luck with your doctor appointment.
I have one next week...........been on a new med for the last 3 months, so we'll see how it is doing.

I have only lived in 3 states.
California where I was born, went to college, got married and after college we moved to Washington.
Lived in 4 houses there as a child and 2 apartments while married and going to school.
Lived there for over 30 years. We did love most things about it. 2 houses there, one rental and one we had built. But the dampness was getting to us, so.....
on to Arizona. Been here for 10 years now. New house in a tract
We like it a lot and we are done moving.

Dinner tonight was Chicken, strawberry, apple salad.

Tina, I hope things go well for you tomorrow. And yay for job offers, even if not a fit right now.

@apirateslifeforme . I have a bag of books to go back when the library opens. I am re-reading a book I own now. Next I'll try Hoopla but prefer real paper books.
I know it's hard and a difficult neighborhood situation, but can you just tell your neighbor girl that you are busy and she needs to go home? Sounds like she needs boundaries.
Glad you fixed your games. And cool gratitude list with Josh.

I read the CDC guidelines regarding groceries. They are not saying that you need wipe off your groceries as now they saw the virus doesn't live on surfaces. Just wash your hands. A lot of info on their website.

Question of the day: 5/21 How many states have you lived in? Would you move again?
I've only lived in 2 states, Maryland and New York. Born and raised in Baltimore, college in Ithaca and the Bronx, back to Baltimore (my parents' home, 2 apartments, then bought a house) before moving to our current home in Elkton in 1988. If we moved to a retirement house or community, I would expect it would be in Maryland, or nearby Delaware, to be near our kids.

I've lived in 5 states: Colorado, California (for a brief 4 months), Arizona, Nevada (twice, both southern and northern), and now Florida. All states except CO were after I turned 18; I bleed orange and blue, haha. However, I have vistited all 48 contiguous, and I've been to (briefly, like less than 18 hours in each) to Winnipeg, Vancouver, and...Tijuana! (though I don't think Tijuana really counts, because we were there for about 4 hours, and my dad wouldn't let me stick my head out of the bunk, let alone let me sit in the passenger seat or get out of the truck.)

Well, we ended up with Throwback Thursdaze burritos from Tijuana Flats for lunch (mainly because I didn't want Five Guys; no Chinese place is delivering..or even open right now; and I knew we'd end up with pizza for dinner)....and yep, cheap Domino's pizza for dinner. However, to make up for that disappointment, I opened a bottle of Stella Rosa Berry wine and am thoroughly enjoying myself right now.

Water was barely on, but not for use except for flushing, about 3 hours after I posted this a.m. We spent the day drinking bottled water, and cleaning hands with baby wipes. It's back on fully now, once we flush the taps; it took about 6 more hours until they gave us the all clear. They left us instructions, but I put it off today. I figured tomorrow I'll run the washer empty on the clean cycle, with bleach and run the dishwasher (it is full of dishes, though, so I think I'll pull the bottom rack out and then empty the top into the sink, and then run it through with either bleach or vinegar and baking soda, if I have enough; then I'll run the dirties through, maybe twice), and flush all the sinks and tubs then, as well. The icemaker was shut off already in the freezer, since the tray was full, so should I run and toss a tray, just to be safe?

I hope your dr appt goes better than expected! :flower3: And YAY for job offers! Even if you don’t accept it, it’s nice to have options.
I’ve just lived in one state so far.
Gratitude: our DD came to spend the week. She’s working from home so why not? She can work from our home. I can’t even begin to say how great it is to have her here. We’ve been cleaning out closets and stuff she had brought home from college a few years ago that’s just been here. Lots of trash, recycling and donation boxes filled. It feels good. I wonder how many people who are now not commuting and have more open time in their day are cleaning out closets.
