Awesome to know! We were able to move our pickup resort to another years ago but it seemed rather problematic and we were kind of "disciplined" lol in a Disney kind of way so I didn't want to encourage that. The situation was my girls were staying at a different resort with my aunt and uncle. We were staying at another resort with our boys. My aunt and uncle had a different flight and therefore, different pickup time than us. So, we had to move the girls to be picked up with us. Oh my goodness, you would have thought we were asking for like free nights or merch lol. I've never asked again...!

You must have gotten somebody mean. Either that or they are scared to say no to old people. j/k

I would think the major consideration would be if there was enough space on the bus and if there was actually a pickup happening at the hotel already. I could see them not wanting to mess with a schedule that was set with no space, or no pick up at that particular time and the request throwing everything 'off'.

Also, my guests and family members were always toting their own luggage - one of my rules for traveling is the only one allowed to over pack is me! (Usually kitchen, food and comfort type stuff for visits that go 2ish weeks).

Oh I'm most definitely already lost! :rotfl:

Will check out WDW Prep School; thank you. I am not a twitter-er... still can't figure it out.

I had forgotten about there being no FP right now. Honestly.... I am not sure I'm sad about that. I do want to get a BG for ROTR because my husband's never been on it (in a normal year we would have been to DL several times by now). However, I also know that by November things could be different.

I definitely will check out restaurants. We are generally very much a Quick Serve family but I feel like there should be some Table Service meals we should not miss.

@Judique had some food suggestions. What are everyone else's favorites?

(I did read on another thread that so far, at least, people have been allowed to "resort hop" if they took WDW transportation... like no one checked to see if they had a restaurant reservation somewhere... I do hope to still be able to check out some of the fancier resorts and if it means we don't have to drop $300 on a meal there, then so much the better!)

The fancier places such as Grand Floridian have counter service choices as well. Also, the new bar is very pretty - used to be Mizner's or something like that name and now is Beauty and the Beast themed - I didn't drink there but I did a walk through with friend right after it opened and it's special.

Grand Floridian Cafe is semi reasonable and good. Narcoossees is expensive as is V and A's and darn can't remember the other name - checked and I was trying to remember Citricos. Not sure what they are doing with the character meal/buffet option -1900 Park Fair - it was one of my faves. Hopefully it will eventually reopen in some form. It's somewhat pricey as a buffet but everything costs at Disney.

If you are allowed to tour the hotels, people do this all the time in normal times. I think most want to 'take a look' and Disney for the most part doesn't discourage this as you may be the new customer for that product eventually.

There is a door man and usually they are part of the atmosphere, not trying to keep you out, but more 'hey take a photo with me' and 'can I help you find anything?' as opposed to guarding the entrance from possible undesirables. And, if you arrive by monorail it stops on the second floor and you get off nearest the shop and will go down the glass elevator or the very charming and picturesque staircase - ie get your picture taken on this like the brides do.

Grabbed a Discover IT card yesterday....surprising amount on additional info needed for approval but I guess instant approval with document submission and chat. I did use a support link from Dischurners and sent a PM to that person.

Need to figure out a new card for Player 2. When the cup ran dry decisions got harder and less lucrative.

Also I saw there was some home improvement discussion yesterday since moving to Tampa 4 years ago we have needed new roof, new pool pump, new pool salt system, new lawn irrigation, new washer/dryer, new fridge, new AC unit, new closet (debatable) and I am sure I am forgetting something else....but in the end still better than how much we were throwing away in rent in Southern California.

I love talking about Disney. Happy to answer questions, the only thing now is so many things are different and changing - it’s hard to give advice on how it is now. Maybe there is a thread or you can post questions for people who have been there recently when you get closer. When is your trip?

I've been watching the "reopening" threads and have gained a lot of valuable information and plan to keep watching. Those aren't really for "noobs" such as myself tho :D

It will be mid-November. It won't make up for the loss of Japan but it's a good excuse to use this time for a first trip!

I love the decorations at Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and Grand Floridian.

Wow, two votes each for Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian. Adding Beach Club!

That all sounds lovely! And BATB is my favorite so I shall have to go search that out!

After talking with my mom we’re canceling our August Universal trip :( We each have travel booked for September that would be impossible to reschedule if we got sick or had to quarantine after visiting Orlando and we want to be safe. I am thinking of rescheduling for October to hopefully be able to hit up HHN. Our Universal hotel is booked on an AP rate and I can get that refunded. Should I rebook 1) an AP rate with cash direct through Universal and get a $50 resort credit? Or 2) Book with URs at 1.5cpp through the Chase portal?

edit: removed my ? About PYB as I forgot travel wasn’t one of the categories :)

What is the deal for a $50 resort credit? I have a stay in September booked and I have not seen this.

This came up earlier today on FM before DoC posted about it just now. You can now book Hyatt suites with points online.

This is big because it makes booking suites a lot more convenient. And the rates are still fairly reasonable. Many Hyatt properties abroad limit the number of guests allowed to like 2 in standard rooms, which is what’s available with awards. You can book a standard award room anyway and contact the hotel to ask if they’ll allow extra guest(s), but it’s ymmv and you may be told to upgrade to a larger room or suite. Never count on an upgrade with status alone, unless you’re Globalist with suite upgrade awards.

This is awesome... I started looking for rooms for next year and the Wittmore in Barcelona is 25K points for a room and it's called the "Tiny Room" ugh... Europe is going to be so expensive.

Interesting that the Hyatt Premium Suite offering is getting press all of the sudden. It started on 11/1/2018. I guess that it was not very clearly communicated when it launched. It is also possible that not as many hotels were participating at that time.

mid- November!

I guess I better go put a calendar reminder on now so I don't forget.

Can I do the "park reservations" as soon as I've purchased my tickets?
Yes. You’ll need to link the tickets to your Disney profile to made the reservations I believe.

Mid-Nov warning: only some Xmas decorations will be up. When I was there last year we were double blessed in ourBC/WL split stay as a couple days into each we woke up to Xmas. CMs don’t know until it’s happening, guests wake up to it. Resorts are decorated as late as Thanksgiving week and deluxes are toward the end is my understanding. Last year BC was decorated 11/15, WL 11/18, GF wasn’t up when we were over there for Enchanted Rose although the Gingerbread House was.

If you go to BC & it’s decorated walk over to YC. It has nautical themed Xmas and a neat train set Village thing. (BC/YC were decorated same night last year.)

It looks like a beautiful hotel though!

Anyone know how long it would take to see a $5 credit for the small business offer? I have a few purchases from this week that posted, no credit tho....

But could you do it online? I know previously, you could book suites with points if you called.

Ugh! Just heard from our accountant that our return was rejected because someone already filed under one of our SSN! trying not the freak out but wondering what steps are reasonable to take. I don't see anything unusual on our credit reports. Should I put a freeze on? I'm not planning any new cards in the short term.

I would. It's easy to freeze and the temporarily unfreeze. Just because they haven't yet doesn't mean they won't. When someone tried opening a cc with mine I froze everything including Chex. Just make sure you keep all the pin numbers and stuff once you do it.

Have you contacted IRS yet?
