Now that Jan/Feb cruises are cancelled, do you think next up is information on the cruises longer than 7 nights which were removed at the same time? Wondering if there will be new itineraries or just complete cancels.

Hard to say. Could be a combination of both. Some itineraries could lend to easy modification. Others would need to be canceled.

I'm torn on if new itineraries would help thin the herd, or just create accounting horrors.

If you paid for a 9-night sailing and it got bumped to 7, would you be okay with having paid for a longer sailing, no credit given?

I would imagine price adjustments would follow any shorting of cruises. Certainly, any port fees for ports not visited in a new itinerary would be refunded.

We actually are on a 9 night Alaska and would expect a price adjustment given the 7 nights are significantly less, but I agree it would be a nightmare for accounting.

and then if they move it to 7, what does the ship do for the extra two nights and is there room at the ports to disembark two days early.

Here's a thought, they could take the time to do an extra good deep cleaning/sanitizing for the next cruise.

I'm sure port schedules will need to be adjusted as necessary to accommodate all the ships with new schedules.

We're currently booked on the 9N Southern Caribbean departing July 22nd. DCL has a lot of options for this cruise IMO, although I'm not sure all would work. First, they could certainly hold out as long as possible, hoping that the CDC order gets modified as vaccines roll out, modifying at the last possible moment. Next, they could announce a reduction in length well in advance with a reduced fare and modified itinerary (January?) and offer refunds/FCC for those who do not wish to cruise this new itinerary. However, this would leave the Fantasy idle for 2N during what is typically peak season. Or, lastly, the can cancel it (early next year?), and replace it with some combination of 5N/4N cruises centered on Castaway Cay. This makes a lot of sense as DCL would have much more control over the logistical challenges. The downside to that is that I would expect a LOT of folks on the 9N itinerary to cancel. And I don't think (pure speculation) the combined fares of 5N + 4N would equal the revenue of a 9N cruise.

I'm hopeful that we can still get the full 9N cruise, but I'm not planning on it. What I'd really like is some type of communication from DCL on PIF dates for this cruise or options they are considering. As it stands now my PIF date is well before when I would expect DCL to cancel (60 days out) based on past history.

no credit given?

No Credit for missing 10% or 20% or 30% of your planned cruise? Who in their right mind would be okay with that? Especially when you consider in reality your planned cruise was technically cancelled which normally gives a 125% credit so you essentially are losing out on roughly 40% to 50% of the value possibly.

Yep.

I think it is complicated from a decision standpoint and they are probably dragging their feet much as they have with many cancels so they aren't dealing with too many credits and refunds at once.

If the CDC doesn't relax their stance in time, the most likely outcome is cancellation.

If DCL can make both the 5N & 4N a Double Dip, I think there would be a lot of demand.

Good point.

I just looked at the current itineraries for the Dream from the 22nd to the 30th. (Wonder is on the west coast, Magic is in Europe) She will be at Castaway on the 25th, and the 28th. This leaves 6 days that DCL could schedule at Castaway.

We are on the 8 night cruise on the fantasy next October. This is the second time we have booked this cruise and we pay extra for it - for the extra night and the different ports. If they change it to a 7 night, just going to the normal ports, it needs to be priced accordingly :)

We are booked on this cruise too!! I am so torn on hoping we can still go, and cancelling now because who knows what will happen. We already had our Spring Break cruise cancelled this year, so we already have another cruise to book.....not that I am complaining about more cruises! I am just hoping we can safely sail!!

I wonder if they will be able to allow b2b though. Seems like it might be a technicality under RTS that would be a lot like certain b2b under PVSA - hard nope.

If the point of the longer trips being cancelled is to avoid spread on the ship seems b2b would be a nope and Disney would have to allow 1-2 days between cruises as well.

Well, here's the answer. The 9N has been converted to a 3N and a 6N. People on board the current 9N can book either at a 10% discount.

All of us at Disney Cruise Line hope you and your family are staying well. Our team remains focused on the health and well-being of our Guests and team members.

Based on the conditional sail order provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Disney Cruise Line must cancel sailings longer than seven nights. Unfortunately, this means that your sailing has been cancelled.

We are offering affected Guests that have paid their reservation in full the choice of a 125% future cruise credit* to be used for a future sailing prior to May 31, 2022, or a full refund. The credit has automatically been added to your account. Once you have decided on an alternate sail date, you may contact your travel agent. Your agent may place a reservation on hold for you by applying this credit as a payment option when booking a new reservation online. Guests that have not paid their reservations in full will automatically receive a refund of what they have paid so far.

Additionally, we are offering you a 10% discount** on the following two cruises that are replacing your cancelled sailing:

They now have the cruises over 7 nights that were cancelled on the list of cancelled cruises on their website.

May 9-12 on Magic
June 28-July 7 on Wonder
July 22-31 on Fantasy

We’re on the same cruise and only booked it for the extended day, new ports and to use our 125% FCC from the cancelled Hawaii 10nt. We have no interest in doing another standard 7 night Eastern so will probably bail if they modify it that way.

If a 125% FCC booking is cancelled do you get to double dip in FCC if it’s offered?
