This is Us- Season four

Question: Has Chrissy Metz lost a ton of weight IRL? I keep seeing click-bait about it in my newsfeeds but I never click those so I’m very curious. I’m not sure when the current season was filmed but she doesn’t look any different, although that could just be costuming. :confused3

I follow her on FB and she posts a lot of pictures and it doesn't look like she has lost a ton of weight from those pics.

I don't think she has lost weight. I suppose it's possible and they are padding her for the time being until it's relevant to her story line. When the show first started I think it was said that she was under contract to lose weight as part of Kates story, but has since said that she is not being pressured to do it. So I don't know if that changed or if it was just a miscommunication.

I think Randall has come to the realization that his trying to be the savior to the rest of the family was not healthy for him. He needs to focus on his own circle, Beth and the girls. I hope that he and Kevin and Kate can mend and become close again and I am glad to see Kevin reaching out, but I don’t blame him for not jumping right back in.

I finally watched the latest this morning. I still enjoy the show and will still keep watching.

It dawned on me what I don't like about the show. Every single character sounds like they are written by the same rather verbose person. The same witty deep thinking person. And most people just aren't that way in real life.

I’m glad we now know the birth mother story, but I have to say I found this episode pretty boring. I hope this will give Randall some peace and we can move on from him crying every episode. It’s depressing! I’m also not a fan of the forced Covid reminders. When they show up to visit Hai and he says “thanks for testing and quarantining” :sad2:
And now it looks like Kevin will miss the birth (couldn’t have predicted that! lol)

I thought it was just okay. People on FB are going on and on about how good it was and that it was the best episode ever and that it was so iconic and moving etc. I felt it was okay, not one of the best for me.

I liked getting her backstory, but I guess I thought William was her true love, but he wasn't. I thought she met Hai after William. Not sure how I felt about the screaming in the lake. Felt a little obvious. I knew that was what he was going to do at the end as soon as Laurel did it.

I guess the point is now Randall has the answers. He kind of summed it up at the end when he said, "now I know my story, and it's not just that I was found at a fire station."

Am I the only one that cringed every time someone went into the water last night? They had no concern for alligators. ???

It was nice seeing the story of his birth mother and giving him a sense of peace but I agree this episode was a little boring.

I too found it pretty boring. Is there a reason we needed to see this, will more family show up? Well he have an inheritance? Because if it was just to have Randal have closure or whatever didn’t cut it for me.

For the guy to just hand over keys was just weird too .

I think it was just for the closure. Randall needed to know where he came from and who is birth parents were. It was like he could not move on until he reconciled his past. Now I think it's done.

I thought the key thing was weird too. Was Hai living there or just looking after it?

I can't believe how people are gushing about this episode on the This is Us fb page. I mean, it was good, but I keep thinking, "did we watch the same show?" For me the best episode was Williams backstory when they went to Memphis.

I agree about the alligators! A lake near New Orleans has to be riddled with them.

I actually liked the episode. Now that Randall has his answers, he can find some peace and move on.

Feel the same as everyone else. My attention kept waning.

I am very concerned about Kevin though!

We know he is okay though because we have seen him in the future. My prediction is that he misses the birth and Madison gets mad. Or, maybe Madison will die during childbirth?

I thought the episode was just "meh".

I agree on the alligators--crossed my mind, too.

I found in unrealistic that she would have gotten 5 years in prison for a drug overdose/possession. I also found it weird that nobody connected the druggie asking for her baby, and a baby having been dropped at a fire station.

Of course Kevin will be fine--we've seen him in the future, not only is he healthy, but he has no obvious scars. Of course, he could lose a leg or something, which is convenient for actors (cover the fact with long pants).

And can I just say, I love Chi McBride in anything.

Lol...that was what I thought every time...fresh water in Louisiana...ummm no thank you.

I finally just got to watch last weeks and then last nights as well. I liked last nights episode and glad we found out everything about Randal's biological mom, but I don't really like when they do episodes on just 1 person/story line. I felt like I needed more lol.

I will also say that I didn't really mind Madison last week. After reading the comments, I thought she was going to come off really rude/rough etc. and I didn't see that. What I saw was 2 people who forgot to talk about how they were going to live their life together. I think it happens a lot and while Kevin just assumed that Madison would be happy to raise her family hopping around from 1 place to the next; Madison seemed to assume they'd raise their children in a more traditional setting. Don't get me wrong, I think they could work it out, especially since it's not like Kevin's filming all the time, but I didn't think Madison was mean about it...I think Kevin was a little presumptuous to just assume Madison would be happy doing what worked best for him and around his schedule (and I think Madison reacted a little offended by that,) while in reality they really never had that talk.

While I agree it is "forced", it's reality, and if it wasn't mentioned, those of us that like shows to "feel real", would point out the absurdity of leaving it out.

I thought this was a beautiful but RUSHED episode with so many holes, still.

And at night too! No way!! Alligators and crayfish, mudpuppies, whatever else could be hanging out in that pond!
