Plans for the July 4th weekend?

What is everyone’s plan for the upcoming holiday weekend? DH and I are going to Maine for a week. We are actually camping at our favorite place so I am in the midst of packing.

You guys have any fun plans?

the usual
family comes over, goes swimming, eat grilled things, etc., watch a movie, more swimming and fireworks

Not much. DD19 will be home Saturday afternoon through Tuesday morning. She's been working at a camp and it's been pretty intense with long hours so whatever she wants to do. She did just text and tell me we're watching The Chosen series while she's home. DH suggested hitting a bike trail, but he has other things he wants to get done so we'll see if that happens.

My bil is having his annual bbq and pool party. Other than that our weekend is free.

It's supposed to rain every day this weekend. Not all day every day, but enough. No definite plans right now.

On Sunday we are going to our old neighbor’s lake place but other than that, we have no plans Saturday or Monday (we are both off on Monday) We ordered a new stove and microwave and both are in, so maybe we will get those installed one day.

We’ll be visiting my parents for the first time since Christmas 2019.

Taking a local commuter train up the Hudson for a picnic and hike.

We usually go to a party, but we're "in the cone" for Tropical Storm Elsa, so she may have other plans for us. We're also in the final stages of a hurricane shutter upgrade, so the timing is perfect...if they get done this week as promised.

No. July 4 (or July 5 in reality) is not a day off work for anyone in my family. All but one of the community fireworks shows were canceled due to covid. And our fire danger here in California is so high right now, some communities have even banned so called safe and sane fireworks.

Burgers on the grill with many side dishes and grandkids splashing around in the little kiddie pool.....all taking place on Saturday. We do have some poppers they can throw on the cement in front of the barn but that's it.
