Sister Wives

The episode was interesting but didn't add much outside of Meri revealing their marriage was dead long before the catfishing episode. I wonder if they were still intimate when they were talking about having another baby. Or if that's what killed it.

Kody really was a piece of work. I agree with the PP who said he sounded like a 12 year old girl. "Pu-lease!" I mean, seriously. He really has done bad things to his image during the pandemic. It wasn't good before, but it went from bad to really ugly over that time.

It appears the episode of Truely nearly dying had a big impact on Kody. Not enough to go visit her regularly, but enough to make him want to take better care of Robyn's kids I guess?

His comment about having children at a "tender age" was interesting. He also has a lot of other kids at non-tender ages who need him, yet he's completely checked out. Not because Covid killed him, but because he's ignoring them. He acts like all those other kids aren't even his.

Does anyone know when this tell all was filmed? Was it a year behind like the footage? Or was it done recently?

I need more discussion about the nanny and also the nanny Covid exposure.

The tell all was filmed recently since Christine is already divorced. There are two more episodes that may deal with the nanny issue according to previews.
With Meri’s comment, then I wonder if she and Kody were really trying for a baby, or if that was all fiction just for the show?
Wonder where the usual host was - she was really good and was not afraid to ask hard questions?

I read that yesterday. I’m feeling a little catfished by the show. Lol. Apparently, he had significant marriage issues with both Christine and Meri from around the time the show started. If they intended to show the world that polygamy families can be happy and functional, it’s showing the opposite.
Very much so; it's one of the first things they tackled in the early years. With Meri it was infertility problems and with Christine it was her jealousy of Robin. Funny thing though - if you go back far enough in this thread, the sentiments at the time were completely in Robin's favor and sympathy for her that she was being treated unfairly. :scratchin

The breakup was announced just prior to the start of the season, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen earlier. I mean, she moved his boxes out roughly a year ago so it could have been filmed any time since then. I have to assume they timed the announcement for maximum impact on this season's viewership.

Ah, 2 more episodes. I can only hope the others are more interesting.

I really wonder when these interview shows were filmed.

Christine looks much thinner now than in the interview show, unless it was the camera angle last night.

That's a good point. Not to body shame her at all, but either the clothes or camera angle made her look bigger or they shot this some time ago.

Now that we know that Kody checked out of his marriage with Meri so long ago, I wonder what might have happened if Robyn had supported Meri’s desire to go to college and find a career helping children like she wanted. Instead, Robyn whined that she needed more help with her children and My Sister Wives’ Closet and that Meri shouldn’t be with outsiders because she might leave the family. I’m sure that Robyn was in Kody’s ear about all of that, too. If Meri was finding fulfillment in other areas maybe she would have been less likely to go looking where she found her catfisher. I’m not saying that Meri was blameless, but it’s too bad that she wasn’t allowed to follow her dreams because of another’s insecurity.

I have watched it for the last few years,,but I am confused on something. Meri was the first..he was legally married to her. She let him divorce her so he could marry Robin and call her kids his own. So were he and Christine, or Janelle ever legally married? The part about Christine saying 'they are divorced' has me wondering, because I thought he was only 'legally married' to 2 of them.

No he was never legally married to Christine or Janelle, they just had a celestial marriage as they call it.

I guess even the therapist (Nancy?) couldn't fix the two broken marriages. Makes you wonder if Kody was just going through the motions with her too.

Good point. And yet they kept going back to her. Maybe they should have tried someone else.

hate to say it but rather than being fatherly love i suspect it's largely based on his knowledge that her near death was due to his own gross neglect of care for a 3 year old. all the wives were on a trip and kody was left to care for the kids. truely came down with the flu and kody just shoved off her care on the teens saying it was nothing serious. truely wasn't taking in fluids, kody kept doing his kody stuff........... truely's kidney's shut down and by the time christine got home and took her to the doctor's office she was in total kidney failure.

i suspect if any of the wives had been the adult in charge and it had escalated to the near death episode they/we would have never heard the end of it and kody would be emotionally punishing them through eternity.

I just don't see Kody as the sort who would ever blame himself for something like that. More likely he would blame Christine for not being there.
