Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

For those that are platinum or elite, where on property are the breakfast vouchers valid for?

also - are the properties currently packed?
At the Reserve, you get continental in-room breakfast. It’s not bad! A choice of coffee, choice of pastries and a choice of yogurt or oatmeal or fruit.

Oh my goodness! After holding for over two hours, I am wondering if I should cancel my Disney Travel Company reservation and rebook with Marriott directly.

We just wanted to book a quick end of summer WDW get away. We had never stayed at Swan/Dolphin before. After eating there and passing through on the way to the mini golf course last summer, we thought we might want to give it a try. I did a mock booking with Marriott and was going to be charged for the whole stay up front - and that was the flexible rate.

So, I called Disney direct and booked a room only for our August stay. She said the charge was $895 and I my credit card would not be charged. I knew that I was not getting correct information. The resort fee did not seem to be included and I knew that a deposit was needed for room only. I just decided to wait and check out the booking info on MDE or my email confirmation. Never got an email and never showed on my MDE. My credit card has a pending charge from Dolphin for $338.

I called today to inquire and started with reservations. She said she would resend the email and it would take 24 hours. I was transferred to another department. After another long hold, I was told I need to wait another few days for Marriott to respond in regard to the reservation not showing on MDE. Disney always says emails will take 24 hours and they usually take 24 seconds.

Do you think I should just book directly through Marriott? I was trying to avoid paying the entire balance up front.

I have 1 AP rate ressie at the Dolphin in Oct and one AP ressie at the Swan for later in Oct and so far I haven't received any charges to my credit card, despite it seeming like the full amount would be charged when I made the online ressies. I made both this week. It's so strange.

Hey y’all! I’m currently staying at the Swan Reserve if anyone has any questions. I’m in a traditional king room with a Hollywood Studios view.
How is the pool area? Pretty quiet? How is the water temp? Anything else you can share about your stay is welcome. Heading to swan reserve for first time in May. Have stayed at dolphin and swan, but thought the newer rooms might be nice to try. Have you tried the coffee shop breakfast sandwiches?

It looked pretty busy when I saw it yesterday when I checked in. I headed right to the parks and I’m only here for 2 nights so I haven’t checked the water temperature. These new rooms are great! The bed is very comfy but I recommend asking for an extra blanket. I ordered my free room service breakfast and that was just so nice!

Thank you! Am surprised that pool is hopping. Hoped it would be a bit of a hidden gem (that most kids would want the main pool area). So glad to hear the rooms are comfy and nice. Can't wait. So you must be like super platinum or whatever for the breakfast? That's awesome! Have a great stay. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Has anyone tried to push together the double beds at Dolphin? We have a 3 year old who’s been getting scared and wanting to snuggle with us from 1am til morning. So ideally we would shove the beds together to make one big massive bed.

Has anyone decided to remove days from a Dolphin reservation and, if so, was it a "change reservation" where your rate stayed the same, or did you have to rebook and take the current going rate? I am unsure about our travel dates until we can book our flight and am considering booking an extra day on each end of our planned stay so we can shift dates as needed, but I don't want to do that if changing the dates would mean rebooking at whatever is the going rate at that time. (The current nightly rate is good.)

As a safety net, I suggest doing a separate booking for each night you are unsure of. If you ultimately decide to keep either/both, just advise the Dolphin of your continuing reservation, at least about five days in advance; that will give you the best opportunity to remain in the same room, as long as all dates are in the same category of room. If you decide not to add either/both extra days, just be sure to cancel at least five days in advance (assuming you book a refundable rate).

How does the free breakfast voucher work for room service? I thought it had to be presented at time of seating to your waiter?

Hey gang! My Sister, BiL, Mom and Dad just booked at the Dolphin for a spring trip. We are staying at SSR and are connecting the group on MDE so we can get iLL$ and stuff together.

Do they add their Dolphin resort reservation number to their MDE account so they get all the onsite benefits?

Can you just do a king room...they sleep at least 3.

At the Reserve, there is a special option on the mobile room service menu and you must present your voucher when they deliver it. It’s honestly so nice and easy.

yes! Takes a day or 2 sometimes for the # to show up in the system.

My sister booked the two rooms. She will need to add our parents names to one of the rooms for them to be recognized by MDE I assume? She booked online and I don't think it asked for names of everyone in the two rooms.
