This is Us- Season six

So at this point have we established that Kate is alive by the last episode and possibly Miguel is dead? And if Rebecca proclaimed Kate as her person in the cabin scene, how did Rebecca end up under Kevin's care?

B
Knee deep in the NBA playoffs , talking to myself on a thread , but have been reading here.

Too lazy to go back and find the original post.

So going to chatter a bit on my thoughts.

First, I no longer care who Kevin ends up with - now that part is a snorefest to me.

My money is on prairie_girl. Don't tell her husband.
Or Annette that I am making tv characters real.

Ok, I 100% concur with you LOL

He really does clean up nice 😍

Hmmm, that’s a good point..

To me it makes sense that maybe they are gathering for Kate's funeral because of the scene with Toby in the bed all depressed when Randall called him. From the flash forward to the bar scene when Little Jack sang, Toby and Kate were both in a good place in their lives and co-existing nicely. So the bed scene with Toby where he's depressed and shaken wouldn't make sense. idk. I'm overthinking again.

One episode coming up is titled "Miguel" and I am so looking forward to that one.
That was the teaser for next week, and I'm sooooo looking forward to getting his whole story!

And in other news are we supposed to care that the words "Only love can break your heart" were playing, as it all played out.
That worried me too!

I still have a little bit of doubt that Sophie and Kevin are end game only because she hasn’t been shown in the deathbed scene. I was hoping we’d see more of it but I guess they’re saving it for the actual end.
I'm hoping she's just off on her nursing travels. She made a big deal in her speech about being the best version of herself now and not wanting to lose that. It would explain him wearing a wedding ring, but her not being there (and little Nicky saying that Dad never had food in the house) in the flash forward cabin scene.

Oh my gosh, I hope that's not it!

Reactions to last night's episode (which I watched insanely early this morning because my cat woke me up...but I wasn't even mad, because I so look forward to this show! 😆 ) -

I'm so glad it was Sophie!!! They have been meant for each other since they were little kids. I was really worried when they started to play out her story first of the three, but then they just tucked the "clues" from the other two in so quickly, and it showed how every other girl he's been with has just been a blip on the radar compared to her.

I loved that they used Rebecca's difficulties in a positive way when she talked to Sophie. Rebecca thought Sophie was much younger, but Sophie needed hear exactly what Rebecca would have said to her younger self.

Already looking forward to next week, but will probably rewatch this one at least twice!

I had a feeling it would be Sophie. I remember a scene from a while ago and Kevin is standing at Sophies door and he says, "It's you Sophie, it's always been you." Ever since then I felt like they would wind up together.

Her being a traveling nurse would explain her absence at the death scene at the end. She would not be able to be back quickly if she was in another country.

Overall it was just okay for me. Last week was SO intense that this one fell a little flat for me. I feel like they could have made this part of another episode instead of dedicating a whole episode but I'm sure the writers have a lot in store for us in the last few episodes,

I guess I'm alone in thinking that this episode was some super lazy writing. I mean, come on--Sophie is allegedly so close to Kate that she flies in for this fairly small wedding, and responds saying her husband is coming, but she's divorced? Ridiculous! Divorces take years to unwind, even comparatively quick, uncontested ones. She didn't mention it to her bestie, Kate? I just thought they could have done a whole lot better to make her available now, at this point in Kevin's life.

Overall, this episode was a snore-fest for me. Except for the hallway/Nicky scene, which was hysterical. I was also disappointed that they listed the kids in the credits, and then we never saw them (Randall's kids, specifically). I also thought it was stupid that Kevin was addressing his valentines in class--don't you do that at home? I always did, and it's not as if he had an inattentive mother who forgot, or other reason why he couldn't do valentines at home.

Ugh I held out hope for Madison. I’m not a Sophie fan. I just think there is too much baggage in that relationship. With Madison he really leveled up and learned about another person. Me 😭

I felt it was too dragged out. I found myself being really bored at parts, like when he was talking to the wedding singer. Kind of stupid that they would think we would believe she was Kevin's big love. I don't think we needed a whole episode on Kevin's evening and the three ladies they set up as "potential Kevin love's." It was kind of a let down from last weeks episode.

When there are no kids, you can very quickly get a divorce as long as neither side is being difficult about the division of assets. I had a friend whose husband left her in early July for another woman - she filed for divorce by August and their divorce was final in mid September.

I wonder if Rebecca ends up staying with Kevin because Kevin and Sophie are married, Sophie is a nurse so knows how to care for Rebecca.

Last night we saw Kevin grow up even more. That he had always loved Sophie and no one else would fill that space.

I hope so. Kate is the worst of the Pearsons.
