***Official April 2023 Thread***

As if I could be any more pumped? Then they drop that news!! We’ll be at WDW from 3.30 - 4.8 so will hopefully catch all the changing nighttime shows. What fun!! I've never seen Epcot Forever, or Happily Ever After!

I switched our park rez on April 5th from HS to MK in hopes I can get a virtual queue for TRON. We’re slightly obsessed. April 4th is AK, and I’m hoping for a slower morning there. Although it would be fun to be there for TRON’s opening day. Might change… LOL!

Thank you DIS friends!! Seems like we picked a super fun month to visit!

EDIT: Jumbled up my fireworks shows. Should never attempt an excited reply before coffee! LOL

Hi all!
We'd been holding on tickets in case they resumed offering APs, but with the news of Tron opening we decided to get them, knowing it's already a busy time and now perhaps even more folks will travel in April. Got 3-day tickets with 2 MK and 1 EP day reserved. That gives us two chances for Tron and one day for Flower&Garden Festival (which I seem to be not seeing info for yet; is it out there and I'm missing it?).
Also, what does everyone think: likely that the days and parks of the extended evening hours will remain the same (Epcot on Mondays and MK on Wednesdays)?

Hi! Does anyone have any thoughts on how Tron is gonna affect crowds? I’m excited to hopefully ride it but I’m also gonna be there on Easter weekend and with the Tron announcement, I’m kind of scared, not gonna lie, lol. Would love to hear someone assure me that crowds will be survivable, haha

Don’t shoot the messenger but crowds are typically awful for Easter weekend either way, I would assume Tron will just add to it lol. Embrace the craziness and enjoy yourself! We’ll be there too :)

We’re excited about our upcoming trip 4/11-4/18!!! 🤗 I’ve never been during spring break crowds before, but I’ve heard Easter weekend is crazy! We’ve been over Thanksgiving before, so we know what crowds at WDW are like, but how does it compare? Do Easter crowds usually spill over into the week after Easter or is it usually a buildup the week before? Or both? Also, I know the Springtime Surprise race is the next weekend…how does that affect crowds (and where/which parks does it usually affect the most?) Thanks for posting, my fellow April travelers…it’s so fun to read everyone’s plans/questions!!!! 🤗

A lot of the northeast is on their spring break during that week, I would expect heavy crowds. Never been thanksgiving week but I typically hear people compare Easter week to Christmas week as being one of the busiest at Disney. Not sure if that means the week before Easter or the week that starts it but I am going on expecting pretty high crowd levels. I’ve been during this week before and it was very busy, I can’t say that I noticed the races adding much in terms of crowds, just be aware if you’re a rope drop person it could cause so traffic… I think the races then primarily take place in the Epcot area.

Good to know! Although I live in New England and the April break for the northeast is the following week (4/16-4/22) …it’s always the same week as Patriots Day (which is the 3rd Monday in April). Was hoping for a few nice park days before the New England crowds descend. 😉. That’s why I’m curious about the week after Easter…

Ok, so I just found out that you’re totally right! A lot of schools have their spring break that week. Nuts! Oh well, I guess there aren’t really any non-crowded times anymore, so we’ll just go and have fun!

I’m in NYC and we have the bulk of our spring break the week after Easter. It’s tied to Passover usually and that’s when Passover falls this year (and also last year).

I’m at the runDisney race for the 5k April 14th and that is my schools spring break in jersey. I’m finding it strange a race would be during such a busy week but works for me since I don’t have to take time off!

Our trip is 4/16 - 4/20. I didn't realize that I made reservations during the spring break for the northeast. I was just trying to get a nice date in April that was between Easter and my daughter's birthday. Most schools in our area of the Midwest have a spring break in March. Most parochial schools in our area have Easter week off - which this year is April 7-15.

I don't think there is a time when WDW isn't crowded. ;)

Bit nervous about mid-April crowds still. Touring Plans has us mostly at 4, 5, 6, if those are still reliable. How are people feeling about crowd predictions for like 4/16 on? Anyone heard any scuttlebutt?
