Boulder Ridge Refurb Has Begun!

Our fridge opened and closed just fine. There was/is room for both appliances to fit properly in the space provided. They were still walking the building this week doing punch-list items, so if guests just let them know, they can adjust it. In the WDWNT tour video, you can clearly see there is plenty of room on the oven side of the fridge to move it over a bit. It's on rollers, so no biggie. Ours did need some leveling to be sure.

Both appliances are being re-used, the wall next to the fridge hasn't been moved, and the countertop next to the oven is the same size as before.
Thanks Don! That's so good to hear. That really bothered my engineer husband. Ok fine....and me too.

I was bothered about the missing decorative backsplash on the kitchen sink, but looking at it in other views you can see a couple of stools and the ability to eat at the counter. So ... that's ok.

As far as the Murphy bed situation, why wouldn't that be in a 2BR if it doesn't have the sloping ceiling?

I saw this pointed out on facebook - where's the corner living room chair???? Maybe can get by in the 1BR but with 8 or 9 in a 2BR? Even for 4 or 5 in a 1BR it should be there.
Are you talking about the normal chair that was in the corner? It wasn’t a sleeper, so I’m not sure it would really help any. I don’t think a sleeper chair would fit there either, as it would either hit the sofa/Murphy bed, or block the door to the bedroom.

Yes, a chair. Someplace to provide seating when you're all relaxing together. The chair that has always been there.

I guess we never have that many people in one room all sitting together. I do get that larger families do travel, I guess I just like having less clutter (I’m in the minority that isn’t sad there isn’t a trundle bed in there either).

A 2BR accommodates 8-9 people. It's just logical there should be more seating. It was actually lacking even with that chair. With the chair it was just adequate for the 1BR occupancy.

I totally get it. I just can’t imagine that many people in even a 2 or 3 bedroom condominium in the real world (and in college we’d stuff 12 or so in a ski cabin regularly), never mind everyone in the same room. But, as I said, larger families may have no issue with it, and DVC is for everyone.

I took the 2 bedroom tour that didn’t have the Murphy bed. While we obviously wanted it, the fold out sofa bed was likely the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on. You did not feel the middle bar whatsoever. Floor 5 rooms are the most quiet rooms you will find in any resort on the planet, btw.

The new room refurb turned out much better compared to other recent dvc refurbs.. and if you factor in the new pool, deeper theming elements, and the addition of geyser point restaurant, the BRV area of the resort has come a long way in the last 5 years.

I'm looking forward to seeing these rooms in a couple of months. We've never stayed in any part of Wilderness (it and OKW are the one ones missing from the WDW DVC List). We were planning on a 8 Night CCV Studio / 9 Night SSR 1 BR split but love the look of the BRV refurb so opted for 9 Night SSR Studio / 8 Night BRV 1 BR split instead. I have a feeling that we will like BRV a lot, so much so we've started scoping resale contracts.

Is that a dining room sofa.!?

Staying at BR for the first time in June (have done CC in the past). We have a 1BR booked for 3 adults and didn't realize that the Murphy bed's were not put in all of the rooms. The pullout is not really ideal for our 3rd adult. Is calling MS with my request my best chance of getting a Murphy bed? (I understand it is just a request) and if so, how far in advance should I call? and should I do online check-in before I call or after?
TIA
