I checked this morning on my Hertz compact SUV for the first week of May, and it had dropped $110. That’s about $360 less than when I first booked it (and had a heart attack) in December.Hertz dropped for April 16th as well through car rental savers. We had Alamo but for 90.00 will use Hertz!
Yeah when I was first looking it was around $600 for my minivan(and that was cheap at the time!)...I will happily take $354 over that!I checked this morning on my Hertz compact SUV for the first week of May, and it had dropped $110. I would only have the overlapping ones with Hertz for a couple of minutes(just to make sure the advertised price showed correctly), my other one was through Alamo so I don't think I ever had both for enough time for Hertz to ask about itHertz sent me a email asking if I want both reservations or want to keep just one. It was recommending that I keep the lower priced reservation, but I decided to keep both for now.
I would pay probably 15% more to have the rental through Hertz over Dollar. I know I can be through Hertz and on 528 in 20 minutes. Can't say that when I've rented from Dollar.I currently have reservations for an SUV, May 17-23. $298 at Hertz thru autoslash/priceline, $289 at Dollar thru carrentalsavers. I'm keeping both for now; we had a nightmare experience at Dollar when our flight was late so I don't trust them, especially to save $9!
ETA: Autoslash is tracking my rental. I just got notification that they have found a better rate, but it turns out to be a "pay now" offer through Autoslash alone. It can be cancelled up to 48 hours prior to rental. I've never seen this before with Autoslash. I'm not going to take it as I am not 100% sure this trip will happen, but it'd save me $50!
It's my first time using Hertz so I am not sure...I'm sure someone more familiar will be along to answer this for youThanks to all who have shared in this thread!
We were going to drive our own car for our 2 week trip due to the prohibitive cost of rentals. But I was able to book a Hertz midsize SUV through Priceline/Autoslash for $535 May 18-June 1. Hopeful it might drop a bit more, but it seems worth it at that price.
I've signed up for Hertz Gold - anyone know if I can still add my husband as a driver without additional charge, since the reservation is through Priceline?
As long as you entered your Hertz Gold Plus number on the reservation and it is pay later reservation then yes you can. Thanks to all who have shared in this thread!

If you pre pay or do not enter your number, you will probably be charged.
Keep checking the price as it will continue to go down up to approx 2 weeks before your trip. Thanks to all who have shared in this thread!
