I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I have the Venture X with Priority Pass. Trying to figure out where I will actually be able to use this on our Europe Trip. Flying out of MSP (They have a PGA MSP Lounge where you get $15 per person in Food or Golf - assuming that we won't be able to use this one...)

Fly into ORD then on to Rome (Looks like ORD may have one)

Flying Home from ATH to EWR. Anyone know about these.

Tempted to PC my Marriott Card to the Ritz Carlton Card for unlimited access that includes a food credit also. Hmmm.

Checking all my accounts and noticed a few errors.

SW Card - Pending charges of over $500 from some Beach Club. Fraud on that card. They are sending me a new card. Apparently, they also tried to charge over $500 at Ikea but that was declined.

Chase Freedom Card - Had booked my Daughter 2 nights at hotel for one of her nursing clinicals at the Mayo Clinic. Booked with points from CSP Card. DD gave them the Freedom card for Incidentals. They ended up charging me for the 2 nights even though I used points. Called Chase. They are sending a form that I have to attach info showing I paid with points. Couldn't they go on and see that - or should've I called CSP instead of Freedom....

I need to be watching my accounts more closely... glad I caught these.

We went for 4 or 5 years the first week of May when the girls were in elementary school (a long, long time ago!). The weather was great and the crowds were lower. We would plan to go after the statewide testing and the teachers didn't usually ask them to do alot of work since they were wrapping up the year. We loved going at that time, but I would think it would depend on your kids and whether they are good with missing that much school.

ETA: Lots of schools will have spring break the first week of April (i.e. Georgia) and that coincides with Easter next year.
Do they have off the week of Easter or the week after Easter?
Everyone just pointed out that Easter is 3/31, and my kids do in fact have a 4 day weekend the first weekend in April.
I’m thinking fly into MCO on Thursday night, go to parks Friday-Tuesday, fly home Wednesday, they would only miss 2 school days.
I think a lot schools in central/south American are out the week of Easter and the week after.

Our girls are out of school, but I checked two larger counties and they both have the week after Easter off (April 1-5). In years past, the whole state took the same week off. Not sure if that still is the case.

There is a total solar eclipse on April 8th next year which is the reason schools around here (NY) are closed that day. It looks like Florida is not a state that will be impacted.

So we’re pretty sure we’re doing Ireland either in August or September. Leaning towards August but need to check where we want to stay and see what’s available first since August can be more busy. We’re looking at visiting Dublin, Killarney, Dingle, and some areas near Galway. We’re a little late booking all of this so probably won’t get our first choices at some places. Anyone stayed in any of these areas and loved where you stayed?

Has anyone recently been able to add a household member to the Chase UR system for transferring UR points? Or know if it's easier/more efficient to call or SM?

Anyone have dining suggestions for Paris at places that are yummy, not too fancy, and have outdoor dining?

Were you able to book 2 queen rooms? I've checked different dates and only the king room is available using points.

I booked the king room and then e-mailed them to ask to be put in the 2 queen. Quick response that they changed it.

Thanks to @FreeDiningFanatic for the tip!
Same! Thanks to the tip from @FreeDiningFanatic we were able to switch to a 2 queen room. We had originally booked 2 king rooms (this is a splurge trip for us!) and this tip saved us a bunch of points! Unfortunately I think the hotel recently went up a category, but I would still go back at the new price based on our experience.

Awesome... hopefully that practice continues, we don't plan to go until next year some time. I'm just trying to figure out our budget and points need for next year so I can focus on accumulating those points.

We are not foodies at all, in fact we are picky eaters. So disregard if you are looking for something with French cuisine or something exotic. In August, we discovered a little Italian place fairly close to the Louvre that we liked so much we went twice. We were staying Park Hyatt Vendome and this restaurant is fairly close. It's very casual, we went in shorts and t-shirts. It is Caffe dei Fratelli It's basically at the corner of Rue des Pyramides and Rue St. Honore.

Since I'll be hitting my spend on the Wyndham biz card, I guess it's time for another new one, LOL. I think next up on "my list" was to have an AA card before the summer. But now that AA has kinda gotten rid of the saver awards you got for certain airports for having the cards, and now the cheaper flights, I'm not sure it's worth flying AA anymore to NC. When I could fly into EWN (New Bern) cheap, it was worth it. DTW-CLT-EWN as it is 30-45 min from there to the beach. But now to get the "cheap" flights I have to fly to PGV. Which I don't mind but I think it's 2 to 2.5 hours to there. Add in the layover and it's cheaper and easier to non-rev Spirit as it's a 3 hour drive from there. So now I'm torn on if I want an AA card. I'll probably do it so I have that option. It can't hurt to have more AA miles, LOL.

Minnesota was right behind them, I think the average age of MN was 1 month older than MI. Same seeing so many of them in the NHL when the season ended Saturday. Faber had a good start with the Wild, Knies looked pretty good with the Leafs last night.
My son would die to play at UM, but has Minn and ND on his list too, LOL. I tried to tell him there's no cracking Minn as they are all homegrown, LOL. I just want to know how the Hughes family birthed 3 NHL players!!! My son is back to skating w/ the son of the NJ Devil's scout. They played Mini Mites and Mites together. Maybe he can get on his radar, LOL. As NJ loves some Michigan players! My BIL is a HUGE Devils fan (went to Maryland, lives in NJ). I told him he needs to become a UM hockey fan. My son played for the "rangers" and he hated that, LOL. His other nephew (in NJ) played for the "Devils" and hated that as he's a Rangers fan, LOL. My son is currently a "flyer", his coach is a former flyer, LOL. He's also w/ little caesars. We're LIVING at the rink for spring. UGH. 3 teams......his choice, LOL.

Are you on FB? This group was great - https://www.facebook.com/groups/158560111446142. You might be shocked! I didn't start planning hotels till a few months in advanced and I was planning over St. Patrick's Day! We managed to find something everywhere. I have heard lots of people say fly in/out of Shannon. We would have done that if I could have gotten flights. Now that we're looking to fly out of CLE it's only direct to DUB. It's okay....We'll make it work ;)

I can’t join the group because I don’t have a profile picture lol. I’m not a Facebook person. I’m sure there are other groups I can look into though.

Dh is gonna look at the Shannon airport but he didn’t think there were any flights. That would be nice though because everything we want to do is on that side of the country

I (DS actually) got a new Bonvoy card, and I'm hoping someone can help me determine when the first statement will close. The due date is May 24th. Can anyone help? I get very confused on this :-) Thank you!

Question. DD has an Avis offer on her Amex BBP. We are deciding if we want to rent a car at WDW in May. If we do, I am the one that drives. Is there anyway for us to use this offer, if I will be the driver? We can rent through Coscto, but I would be the primary driver, she would be the secondary. The Costco membership is mine. Any thoughts on this? I was hoping to have it on my employee card in her account, but I don't have it.

This is a Chase card? Should be April 27.

Though I had an Ink that didn't fit the pattern recently. Due 4/23 and closed 4/2. Weird. Though still 21 days grace period as legally required (not sure if that still applies for business cards).

I don’t think this is a problem at all. With Costco you get a free 2nd driver, so you should both be listed on the rental agreement and therefore it shouldn’t matter if you pay with her card. I’ve done this with Costco and Alamo. DH and I are both drivers and it’s never mattered who’s name was on the card.

I've been told the name of the primary driver has to match the name on the credit card, and most of our car rentals are through Costco. I've had the experience of not being able to use my credit card to pay for a car rental under DH's name. It might depend on the car rental company? I don't remember which one was insistent on the name on the rental agreement matching the credit card used to pay. Why don't you put her name down as the primary driver and make yourself the additional driver? Another route (not guaranteed to work although I've had success with it) is when you return the car, ask to change what card is going to be used for payment. Usually I have to go inside and speak to a rep in order to do that.
