Definitely something that people should price out. I can see if they deal with Costco is better than the cost of any upgrade would be, I can see people taking the Costco deal.
I personally do not like to use any travel agents because I like to be in control of my reservation. Plus it is so easy to do your own research now that travel agents are not really needed anymore. Back in the day, only agents had access to travel information. They would get a giant book with all of the resorts and hotels around the world. The internet changed everything.

For most of our vacations, I book everything myself as well because I can usually find great deals. But there are times, you just can't pass up booking with Costco, because the convenience and price all make sense.
Costco travel is also great with customer service. If something goes wrong with your vacation, they would try their best to make it right for you. It depends on the type of vacation package you book with them, they might send you a very long survey and want to know how your vacation went.

#truth. It morphed so quickly I had to change it to "all things Costco". Now cruise dress code might be a reach, but this is the DIS and #expected.

Im okay with this policy as long as my wife isn’t treated like a spy from the Soviet Union during the Cold War because I wasn’t with her because my toddler needed to go to the bathroom while we were in line.

NO WAY I tell DH he can have a card too!!!

I can barely afford him going with me, let alone he go by himself.

And we'd have to buy another freezer for all the meat he will buy.

True story, she forget her wallet at home and just had mine. Literally had to get the manager and wait until I came out to verify it was me

Each card is attached to a specific person. What she would have wanted to do is get a temp card at the guest services counter rather than use your card. I've forgotten to put my card back into my wallet when I switched purses before, I just went to the guest services and they gave me a temp card for the day. She would show her ID and look her up, they'd give her the temp card and easy peasy no problem

You are allowed 2 membership cards per family so your wife can get her own.

On the surface you can think it's asinine but they are just following what the membership is, an individual at that time was trying to use your card without you physically right there. You would not be the only parent in history to step aside and wait til bathroom break is done or have her take your toddler or like I mentioned get a temp card when you entered the store realizing she left hers at home (which would have alleviated any issues TBH with a surprise bathroom break and allowed for shopping as normal).

It's like airline companion passes you can't fly without the main person and still get to use the perk.

I get it you feel it's silly but you had other options, as frustrating as it might have been for the ill-timed bathroom break.
