Argh, one of my older children just advised he now has the time off to join us for our trip-great news, but our date for the party (sept 1) is sold out. Are there any chances of getting tickets when we get there at the gate, or can I transfer my ticket to him so he doesn't miss out? Just trying to problem solve before I break the news! He is 18, so not end of the world, but was excited to be able to join us when he thought he couldn't.

My husband I attended the party tonight. If anyone wants to know anything, I’ll try to answer the best I can. The best part of the party was the wait time for rides. We literally almost walked on to every ride we went on.
Other commenters have mentioned it was extremely crowded today. Was it hard to get in? Were there massive crowds, just not on rides? Any tips for those of us going in the next few weeks?

It was crowded, but we didn’t “attend” the fireworks or parade. We mainly did rides. We didn’t actually get to the party until it started at 7:00pm. We got off the bus from AKL close to 7:00pm and got through security easily. The crowd was massive during the first parade and it was hard to even just pass through. It seems like the waits to meet the characters were extremely long.

As it got later in the evening, they were more generous with the candy. There weren’t long waits. Earlier in the evening the candy lines were crowded. We actually skipped some candy lines and kept going lol.
This is the right strategy—plus then you aren’t hauling 5lbs of candy around for the next 5 hours!

Thanks for your report on the crowds as well. I used to go with my partner in the mid 00’s (long before kids) and remember it being blissfully uncrowded—but I didn’t care about anything other than going on thrill rides with no waits and maybe catching the Boo To You parade…I’m not sure if it’s actually way more packed lately or if I’m just now doing different things with my kids. I made the mistake of showing my son an influencer video on all the treats and now I’ll be spending most of the night queuing for snacks. 🙃

You’re welcome! We felt the same way. We were more interested in getting on the rides fairly quick than the candy. I also felt like Disney over estimated the wait times. Like Haunted Mansion said it was a 35 minute wait and I swear it was maybe more like 10 minutes.

We really appreciate all the tips and reports from the parties! We’re going to be there Aug 29 and it’s been fun following along with everyone the last few months. Thank you!

Since your family already has party tickets purchased, historically Disney will allow you to add an additional ticket to your group the day of the party. It shouldn't be a problem although is not guaranteed.

I was watching the TP Lines app last night and it was reporting the same thing (which is also the case quite often during the day). Thanks for the real world report, though! We are going in Sept mainly for the rides without the sun beating down on us, so I’m excited to hear your experience with the rides was favorable.

Once upon a time....did you stay till party ended at 12? Does the emporium close at 12 or does it stay open later like a non-party night?

We left the party around 11:00pm. I’m not sure how about Emporium as we didn’t go there, however as we were leaving it looked like most of the stores were still opened. The AKL buses were crowded when we left. We all couldn’t fit on the first bus. Thankfully, a second bus came right away.

It was. We felt the party was worth it was the rides alone. The tea cups were only a 5 minute wait.

Wife (along with her sister and two kids) went last night. We've been to many, many parties and she did think it was pretty crowded just walking around. That being said, the ride lines were short to non existent most of the party. They mode 7DMT during first parade and it was only 15 min wait (posted was 30). Got a Tron VQ and it got called around 11 so they waited until 11:45ish to actually do it. No wait at all once up there. Watched 2nd parade. Got a spot right at tape near Liberty Square Market at 10:50 (that's our favorite spot for both Christmas and Halloween parades because once it's over, you can make a quick getaway back to 7DMT or anything back in Fantasyland).

The stores were open well past midnight...she thinks they were in Emporium around 12:45 and they weren't kicking people out yet.

The later you can wait to do Treat lines the better. They ignored them early in the party as they were way too long but in the last 90 min, they disappear and the cast members seem to give more (and you don't have to walk around with it all night).
