Love these!!

My morning is off to a wonderful start. Around 8:40 I heard the doorbell. I was asleep and not expecting anyone, so I ignored it. Then the neighbor’s dogs started barking. They were louder and crazier than usual, so I got up and looked outside. The woman from our pest control company was here doing an outdoor treatment. (Dh forgot to tell me that she was coming.) About a half hour or so later I heard voices outside but didn’t think anything of it. A few minutes later the doorbell rang again. Before I had enough time to get out of my chair and get to the door someone started pounding on the door. It was my next door neighbor. She was livid because the pest control lady was spraying chemicals in my yard while her dogs were outside. She kept blabbering something about needing to call her vet because the dogs shouldn’t be out for an hour…Keep in mind that I was still half asleep at this time. I apologized and told her that I was not aware that pest control was coming today. Neighbor insisted that I needed to inform her whenever we have outdoor treatment but left before giving me her phone number. The pest control lady wanted to talk to me. I could tell she was shaken be the encounter with the neighbor. Neighbor told pest control that she needed to be notified whenever they were treating our yard. Pest control told her they were under no obligation to do so. Pest control also wondered why if neighbor was so concerned about her dogs she waited over half an hour to check to see why they were barking and going crazy. (These dogs bark at everything. They still bark at us and we have lived here for 7 years.) I’m afraid we may have gone from indifferent neighbor to slightly hostile one.

Hope everyone else’s day is off to a better start than mine.

Crikey, that is one heck of a way to start your day!!!

Hope your neighbour becomes a little more pleasant, but doesn`t sound good! It certainly wasn`t your fault.

I hate barking dogs!!!

We`ve had a lovely day so far......gorgeous sunshine and heat, albeit windy.....

Had a wander down to the trees and the pears are blossoming in abundance, sunflowers are now around 8 feet tall and came back and made a dark and stormy, although not too dark as we didn`t put a lot of rum in it as we`re having wine tonight......

One of our pear trees......

Watched Bridget Jones Diary and Sister Act today, will keep the scary ones for tonight......

Almost time to start the stir fry for me and my mister!!!

Perfect Saturday, lazy and sunny....can`t beat it, and just the two of us......🥰

Quiet one again last night on here......

Had a lovely Saturday night, cosied up watching scary movies and enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine and some snacks, can`t beat doing that!

Up very early this morning and watched the sunrise, beautiful while enjoying a pot of tea, perfect way to start the day.

Will be avoiding the tv this morning, regular football is bad enough but women`s has to be the dullest ever even if it is a World Cup final, no interest in it at all, any kind of football is dull to us. And a lazy day after that I think, will catch up with a few friends on the phone.

We do need to head out to get some fresh produce from a local farm store this morning, plan to cook on the bbq tonight, got some chicken breasts I`ll marinade in a few ingredients and some diced pork kebabs all with salad, coleslaw and will rustle up some spicy cous cous.
Plum and apple crumble with custard for dessert, nothing beats home made dishes.

Poached eggs for breakfast on English muffins, lunch will be shrimp salad open sandwiches.

And lots and lots of tea!!

Morning all, been plodding away on web all day, think I’m caught up on those chores. need to season the tbonz i’m grilling out later. Then going to brave a pool float for hour or so before i shower. dipped into mid 50’s last few nights. That will be a tricky process to not get “wet” & freeze.

Tomorrow is my annual squishing of the girls day

I’m on the pooch side of the yard spraying. Do think it would be lovely if the neighbors getting the spray job would let you know via the company sending out a mailer as a courtesy...as they did back in the dark ages.

Supposedly, according to chemlawn (um, I’m reading chemicals in there), says their treatments are nontoxic to pets & humans. :rolleyes1

Wow, some awesome BD memes for the big cheese here :)

Mac, hope u had a whopper of a day…as in eating one, or Taco Bell :)

just clipped the pooches nails, he tends to act as tho we are killing him. He’s better at it than last fur baby…had to wrap him in a cocoon to avoid losing a finger or two lol

GD talked us into definitively trying to secure disney race spots in April, registration opens on tuesday. May the force be with me to secure them, go like hotcakes I’m told.
Sorry to hear of your storm damage. Hope you were able to get your window fixed.
Well, it helps I sleep with my handyman:p & he works cheap. Did finish up the front/side porch. Have yet to find the perfect rocking or glider chairs. I want cushy comfort

I had never heard of the continued fires in coal mines in Pennsylvania.
I always recommended home buyers check the maps and pick up the mine subsidence ins. Same as with the flood ins. Both are relatively cheap considering regular home owner’s won‘t cover that sort of issue. Supposedly, my current house wasn’t eligible for either. I have some random cracks that formed that tell me otherwise. Again, the mr fixed with a new mini header in one of the basements under said porch I referenced earlier. So glad he works for food. :)
My brother and his lady friend are coming to visit on this Sunday for at least a week, so I will be pretty busy. We'll eat lots of good food, visit, and have a good time with family.
I haven’t heard that phrase in ages. Enjoy the time with your family. I’m guessing you will be in overdrive cooking up some amazing food
Dreaming, and pricing with other trips for us to do instead of Nashville.
Ooh, good times:). I do love to plan trips. Any front runners? Have you considered a cruise?
Have used Art (Standard Co) before but not sure if he is still in that group.
Can you text him to verify? I’ve seen people disembarking the U buses at the resorts from the airport. Never understood why they went that route with so other options in the area, especially as the cost is relatively high for multiple people.
Once framed it will probably go on the wall in dh’s office next to the eagle picture.
Love a good theme going in wall art
You and mr mac have done amazingly well with dealing with your brothers estate, it has been time consuming for you, but you`ll get there.
can’t imagine the work involved in that. Have always done on our own, however, I’ve never plowed thru anything but a simple estate (as in I’m usually the one paying bills that are due for family Vs cashing a check lol). as mac said, have to do right by them in the end.

Yep, very important PSA there Janet.

lol.....sleeping with your handyman.....

Good luck getting the girls into the race in April! Highly competitive ones I hear to get, will keep fingers and toes crossed for them.

We`ve dealt with probate before, not sure how it is over there, but jeez.....red tape and lawyers!!! Not a fun thing to do, worth it in the end though once it`s done.

Enjoy that pool time this afternoon.......

We ended up deciding to invite some friends over here today, nibbles and drinks this afternoon, ended up not needing dinner we had so much!! I like days where plans change as we were supposed to be not doing very much at all today, but it was so lovely and we managed to sit outside for most of the afternoon. So, it was a very pleasant afternoon in the end.

Still sunny now, but the breeze has built up a little, however still warm enough for all the windows to be open.

So, sitting in the kitchen with the doors open and Tom has a James Bond movie on.....not fond of the later ones as much as the earlier ones that had a lot of humour in them.

Still got a few bits to nibble on if we feel peckish later, if not they`ll go in the trash.

But rather splendid Sunday in the end.

I think I would be less annoyed if she hadn’t started off by yelling at our pest control person and then pounding on my door just seconds after ringing my doorbell. I get that she was upset about her dogs, but she could have been a little more polite about it. We have had this treatment done several times a year for the past 5 years and this is the first complaint I have heard. I suppose this could have been the first time she had seen someone in our backyard spraying, but I doubt it.

Believe it or not, Dave & I have been convinced to try the 5K.

done laughing yet? A good carrot to have me eat more of them and lose some tonnage

so un-PC, i enjoy all the bond movies (well, except that George Lazenby? one) for what they are…Sean Connery my first crush, roger Moore just so drolly funny :). Daniel Craig very easy on the eyes. Any excuse to work this pic in. look at his baby blue…

That would be a bit alarming, never know if a kook will be worked up enough to bring a bazooka to a ‘dog fight’ these days.

at least the neighbor’s company does post the yard with little signs that they did spray, although since it’s after the fact; not sure exactly what that accomplishes.

I’d rather deal with the “permitted” chemicals being applied by a licensed contractor than Joe Blow using a can of his dead uncle’s DDT he found on the basement shelf. If anything that woman should be more concerned about people applying certain garden fertilizers

OOOOOO I hope your enjoyed it and were happy with the results! We all need those days of pampering.
Thank you, Pumpkin I was happy with the results. You are right, those pampering days are needed by all for sure.

Yes, the Green Fishy Ale is not for me and anything with mint is not for me either.....one and done for sure.
The funny thing is I don‘t like mint either, but this drink I do enjoy every once in a while.

Well, complete change of plans today, I did think we would have a quiet day but friends called this morning and asked if we wanted to go get some lunch and then a movie as they won`t see Tom next week on his birthday, so we did, lovely lunch of champagne and seafood then Mission Impossible, it was really good and only around 7 people including us in the cinema.

That was so nice of your friends to stop by and want to celebrate Tom‘s birthday early.

I have taken care of my September trip plans for the most part.
Have a few odds and ends to deal with but it will be completed soon.
Trying to decide on car service for the trip.
Have used Art (Standard Co) before but not sure if he is still in that group
Sounds like you are moving along with your vacation plans. It will be here before you know it.

Good evening. We had a busy day today. B and I had brunch and then went shoe shopping. I was very impressed with the level of individual attention you get at this store. She tried on 5 or 6 pair of shoes and then decided on the pair she liked best. She has a long shift tomorrow, so hopefully will have less foot pain.
I was wearing a Muppets Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem shirt. One of the store
Hope B’s new shoes help her.

Happy belated birthday to him.
Thank you Charade.

One of our pear trees......
WOW…..that tree is laden with pears. They look fantastic.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. We are heating up again today. We have had a few days of 60’s in the morning to mid 80’s in the afternoon. That is pretty nice for our area as it is usually really hot.

Today has started our heat wave again. High today 95 and if the weather stays on the predicted trajectory we will hit over 100 on Thursday.

We were invited to go and enjoy a nice day and evening at younger sister K’s camping area yesterday about an hour from here. She and her hubby have a nice big camper that they keep at a Camp ground. It is situated in a beautiful area of Southern Indiana.

Dad and half sister from near Chicago were in town and they came for the day as did our son.

K and her hubby barbecued the most delicious pork chops, cheeseburgers and hot dogs. We had number of side salads and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a nice time.

K was so sweet and sent lots of food home with everyone so no need to cook tonight.

It has been a lazy day today. Made a nice brunch then later I took a nap. Now trying to get caught up on a few little house things before the start of the week.

Heard from Nephew in Georgia today. He had Covid last week and was pretty sick, but is doing better. I had heard of the new version of Covid making its rounds.

I watch little J tomorrow. So looking forward to being with my little shopping Buddy.

Need to get movin soon.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

yes, it’s indeed hitting people here too. The three i talked to recently all only had one vaxx then quit, said the same thing: it made their arm sore. :confused3 No surprise there?

the one older lady is going on three weeks with it, said she just tested negative but, still feels lousy. She Was under weight & sedentary to begin with, told she looks quite frail now & has fallen a few times in her house. A shame, bet she needs some PT to rebound.

hoping it’s a blip on the radar and we don’t have a wild & wooly winter of resurgence

Oh, no laughing from me Janet, I admire it!!! The 5K`s over here and the one Kyle did in Orlando were real family events too where some run in a serious manner, some run and walk a little and some just walk, it`s an event for everyone. But, dangling that carrot is a very good idea!!

On occasion we go to join in the Saturday morning Parkruns here, they are for everyone with walking encouraged, Tom and I walk as do many others, and it`s good fun, I think you`ll enjoy it and maybe even get the bug to do another!

I don`t watch Lazenby or Timothy Dalton Bonds......but the ones like Octopussy, The Spy who Loved me, Live and Let Die which all had some excellent stunts/humour, we will watch those DVD`s now and again. Yes, Sean Connery & Roger Moore were Bond.

Daniel Craig, I`m not a fan, he seems to have only one expression in any movie. But, yes, rather easy on the eye and that picture is very nice!!!! I haven`t seen any of his Bond movies (I know) I hate the pc brigade and their pc movies.....

Do you know Queen are deleting their 1970`s song Fat Bottomed Girls from future purchases due to it being offensive to some....utter balderdash...I could use worse language but I won`t as I`m a lady 🥰 but it`s getting completely ridiculous!! It`s a fun song that acknowledges some of us are not slim!!! grrrr.....

I`d have been furious too if someone had sprayed that horrible stuff around my pooch, they certainly have to give notice here and reasonable notice too.

Happy Sunday afternoon everyone

Days until vacation.

Thanks Robbie, we`re following Janet`s family in extending celebrations.....we had friends over yesterday too that we won`t see this weekend, so he got some early cards and gifts which was nice. Nothing wrong with celebrating early/late.

Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday with family, it`s always lovely to get together like that, and hope your nephew continues to improve, always a worry hearing the C word now.

Have a lovely week ahead!!

Sounds like a lovely summer day, except for the nephew.

Talk of a new variant being here now too......some are calling for masks coming back, another utter balderdash as most know for the majority, masks did nothing. But, I`m sure with cooler weather coming those that seek to profit from this will start to make some noise. Yes, I`m very cynical now of the whole carry on.

Hope your appointment today goes well.....

And Monday again......hoping to hear from the dentist this week as to when they`ll get me in for the implant process to start, not sure how quick it`ll be so we`re loathe to plan much in case it`s quick. Only have a couple of lunches planned and dinner on Saturday night. Friday is Tom`s birthday but, apart from cards and gifts and I know Kyle will be here for dinner so we may get some takeout.

Ordered him a new dvd of Blazing Saddles as one of his gifts, we did have it, but think it was cleared out in error, it arrived yesterday and I think he`ll be happy with having it again. Very misunderstood movie.

Hoping my stylist is back from being sick this week, she`s been off two weeks now, so will call and see if she is and get an appointment. The owner offered to do my hair....:scared1: er, absolutely no way in heck.....this woman is not an advert for her salon, her hair resembles a white dry and lifeless birds nest!!! I`ll wait.

Salmon for dinner tonight, will roast it and let it cool and have it with salad and coleslaw with some spicy and fruity cous cous one of our favourite dishes. Lunch to be decided, blueberry muffins and fruit for breakfast, have two types of melon, strawberries, blueberries and pineapple and of course breakfast tea.

Tom was saying he hadn`t cooked for us for a while so I think he`s doing dinner tomorrow night. We usually do that together with him helping and he is good in the kitchen, so now and again he does everything while I have a glass of wine while he cooks. Nice!!

Will get our bedding out on the line today and pop out for some grocery shopping, don`t need much, mainly fresh and weirdly, we`ve run out of bleach so will pick up some household cleaning products too. Not the most exciting things to shop for, but it`s beautiful outside again, another bright and sunny day ahead.

Ah that Monday ugh feeling. Was having that restless bedmate, as he had a very early bedtime due to the yard work he did yesterday. As such, I can see a nap maybe later. Thought will go to that coffee shop after I sign off, as it’s down the street. Have to get that free drink that you can only get on your actual birthday. Last year, got it from the one near the PB hotel. So we are going a week later than last year, and will have little one’s birthday when we are away. Yep, a week away birthdays for us. One today, and one next Tuesday.

Have a great time with J, Robo. You are having that hot weather. Oddly, we have not had a heat wave this month. We have mostly been in the 80’s and even some 70’s highs so far, and seems to be the same this week, as we get to the end of this month. Sounds like nice visits from family, and I hope your nephew feels much better today. Well wishes mummy dust sent his way. Seems like a virus that is not going away anytime soon. Awful he caught it. And yay to that countdown number. Will be here before you know it. And I’ll be following you in September, as coming the following Sunday. Hope you will have a fabulous time, and enjoy being in the fog a couple of nights.

And so, that week day routine start for me. Guess the weather is done with that glorious sunshine, with lower humidity, and close to 90 yesterday. And it’s feeling like me, and overcast and so humid. Though not only is the humid making it feel warmer than it is, but there is enough wind speed, that the wind will also make you feel cooler then it is. And so, I guess it will feel like that 88 high temp it actually is. Thus, a warmer day for us. And a forecasted week to be increasingly going to be 10 degrees cooler than today, and some rain chances too. Though even with a predicted high of 81 degrees, our Wednesday gets the wonderful weather award day for this week. Full day of sunshine to see that camel in.

Hope Sue is having a blast on her trip. Will be nice to meet up with you next week.

Squeal. Getting to start lazy at the end of this week. You know, that leaving when little one usually has her bedtime start. No matter, we will be both up in time, and so will DH. We are lucky, our drop off and pick ups, are almost always done by family cars. And with this very early flight time, our trains, will start to be running about the same time as our flight takes off, so it’s much easier to just drive the about 40 minute ride it should be that wee hour arrival time for the flight. Woot! Single digit countdown.

Thus, time to get back to that routine. I can see lots of tea drinking this morning. And hoping all have that most Marvelous Monday.

Um, i always thot that delivered decidedly tongue-in-cheek, a parody of the southern rock songs of those times. Last thing this world needs is less humor.

bond estate already approved the editing of his books, no idea if the movie versions will be on track too

we only have a finite number of birthdays, might as well stretch them out till they scream, with de-lite!

waiting for teeth & hair appts, does it get any better? Lol. Hope the dates work out to your satisfaction.

since I’ve been in heavy “grauber“ mode (grandma uber as the ’lil dubbed it years ago), waited a bit too long to schedule my annual car inspection. Now only appt That worked is on the 30th. Don’t expect anything major on the vehicle but, never know with ”a classic”. Worst case I’ll garage it until the September travel is over.

the mr dropped his truck off for the body work and what I think must be a brake issue as it started to squeak in tire well that was involved. The insurance rental is a Ford Focus. Um…has to be one of the smallest vehicles out there. Certainly not apples to apples. Oh well, no OOP. They had “no idea” how long it will take Due to needed a paint job on new parts…that takes at least two days at the end of it all.

Thanks Mac, Keisha and Disney for my birthday wishes.

Time is crawling some, but at least mid afternoon meeting was cancelled this morning. Yay.

Keisha, ack to car issues. Yeah, last time we put our oldest car in for inspection they said, it has a very limited life expectancy. Sigh. Was looking at cars. Will be an expensive month’s time, if car buying and then our local taxes are due. The big one, as includes the school tax. Sigh. That money train having too many stops, as already had planned for both trips costs in the next month’s time. Third sigh.

Lunchtime walk was hot, and glad to be inside our cool feeling house. But nature giving us much cooler days for the rest of the week. Still haven’t wanted to wear pants yet. It is Summer after all. 😊

Yes, it was a completely tongue in cheek song, sadly the pc brigade are trying to cancel almost everything today! Heck there`s even a trigger warning on Murder she Wrote before it starts now!! Crazy.

Salon was closed today so still never got an answer and haven`t heard from dentist yet....might be a while I think. And yes, I like that expression for birthdays.....stretch em out till they scream....lol.....I`ll go along with that!

Been a lovely little day today, never saw a soul apart from at the farm store and grocery store this morning....one of the staff in there always takes great delight in telling us it`s nice to see a couple that are always together.....lol.....well, I guess we are, never see one without the other even when grocery shopping. So, a nice quiet day for us.

Came home and had a breezy lunch outside, it wasn`t too bad in the shelter of the gazebo, brought my bedding in, ironed it and we made the bed up, then back outside and sat for a while before it got too breezy and then a short downpour.

Enjoyed dinner of ice cold salmon I roasted earlier and we got some langoustines this morning and they were lovely and rather large, nice salad and cous cous. Feeling very full right now, but always room for our pot of tea soon and maybe a cherry scone with butter!
