Airmiles Armchair Chatter

Amazon question for all you Amazon shoppers out there. Have you ever had any issues when you have pre-ordered any items? Twice now I have pre-ordered a CD (yes I still listen to them) and both times I have to fight to get them to ship it to me. Funny thing is, is that both times it is a CD by the same group.

I chatted yesterday with them as the item is available if I buy it now for shipping in 2 days but my estimated delivery date is December 29th to Feb 4th. The person yesterday said it was a glitch and she had sent it off to the fulfillment department but nothing has happened yet. I don't want to cancel my order and re-order as my pre-order was over $5 cheaper than it is now.

Now I know it was only 24 hours ago but how long would you wait to chat again? Unfortunately when I tried to screen capture our chat it didn't work and when I tried again the agent had already left the chat so all our typing went away.
I really want this CD to listen to some new Christmas music.

Off topic but I think it gets a PASS since this is the store that started this entire thread :P

I think I earned the majority of my miles thru Rexall before they left and created their own reward program, anyone remember the days of stacking coupons and being able to earn over 1,500 miles in a single transaction? How about wandering around the store with calculator in hand creating separate transactions to maximize those coupons? We fell in love with a few of their store brand items during Shop the Block and I still shop there.

Don't go as often, rarely on any day other than old people's day to get my discount but I watch my offers like a hawk watched a mouse so that I can pounce. That happened last Friday - hubby started complaining about a sore mouth on the plane on the way home and eventually led to him finding out he needs a molar extracted since it's cracked. We only stock the pain meds we use on a regular basis in small quantities. THAT wasn't enough for him!

I spent $112 and earned almost $50 worth of reward points! That is a great return, love how their offers stack.

Hope he feels better soon Jacqueline.
I am on my way there tonight (Rexall) ,,everything my middle son was to get for his Birthday this month has sort of been already given,,, new office chair ,,new cozy sheets etc. So I am going to get a few Lotto Festive packs and earn 1500 points on each purchase to put in a couple of Birthday cards.
Get well wishes to your hubby.
Hugs Mel

What offer gets you 1500 points. I'm a little behind on my Rexall offers? Must check my Rexall offers and stock up on a few things.

? Do the offers still stack at Rexall. Just reviewed my offers and if I shop carefully for skincare I should be able to earn 70,000pts for a $60 bt spend. Off to Rexall I go tomorrow if it will work.

That and I'll be 60% of the way to 100,000 on the two purchase offer before Dec 28th.

The 1,500 WAS Airmiles back in the hayday of spend whatever and get i forget how many, they had Wednesday offers once a month that earned me a truckload of miles every single time.

The offers I stacked on Friday were:

  • Spend $25 on Option+ (their new store brand) pain relief products get 10,000 points - bought 2 Arthritis acetaminophen @ 16.49 each
  • Spend $30 on pain relief products get 7,500 points - see above, those same items counted towards this
  • Spend $20 on Rexall private brand products get 5,000 - see above, same items counted towards this
  • Spend $60 get 25,000 points (flyer offers) and an extra 25,000 (loaded offer)

Those Arthritis acetaminophen are mainly for my old-lady back and shoulders, and for $32.98 I earned 22,500 points which equals just shy of $20 worth of points

I also bought Motrin, oral pain relief products for hubby which would have gone towards the Pain relief products as well but i need mine before the end of the year so figured I should get those extra 10,000 points as well. I also got him some Listerine sensitive (poor guy is clock watching for when he can take his next handful of drugs) that got me $5.00 back from Check-out 51

I keep a running list of things we will need, compare my offers with flyer deals and on Thursday when I'm able to see both weeks offers I decide which day to shop. I've done the same thing with allergy meds since Be Well tends to keep track of what I buy and I will get an offer for the ones we use coupled with a general allergy offer. This program requires being more strategic than the others do but I can use the points when I shop online at Well .ca and for Arthur's Christmas gift I saved $30 and earned well over that back in Airmiles since it was my Max Pass store. I HATED when they switched but now it's become a game for me and generally speaking, I win :P

My shop at Rexall.
$60 on skincare +30,000 pts
redeem 25,000 +7,500 pts
$40 anything instore +25,000 pts
$30 Neutrogena (2) +7,500+7,500pts
Total 77,500 plus I am $20 away from spend $100 (2 transactions before Dec 28) get 100,000pts

Not a bad afternoon. Thanks Mel and Jaqueline for having the discussion that made me look at my offers and get off my butt and do something about them. That and I should have wrinkle free skin by Christmas :D (because I purchased wrinkle reducing skin cream)

Little OT...of you think Disney tickets are pricey....just purchased 4 tickets to Les Miz in Toronto...my favorite,,so xmas and bday gift to myself..lol....with tax $750...about what a full day in the park would be for us..for a 3 hour show.
This is how we justify park passes...instead of baseball, hockey tickets we save for park passes.

Ok, shop the block, hmm. Metro, Shell, Global Petfood & ??? a mastercard linked offer? Dollarama? Will that count? I'll need to get this done quick since we leave in less than a week lol. I can't really do an online order unless it's something that'll come quick.

Sounds pretty easy.

What does this bit mean? Can't use a BMO card to shop through Airmileshops?

This offer excludes any Miles earned in connection with purchases on any BMO AIR MILES® credit cards and online travel stores through airmilesshops.ca (including but not limited to travel bookings, car rentals and hotel stays).

Very often, there is a category for if you used your BMO credit card to shop. Doesn't look like that is a category this time. I think that is what it means.

I wonder if that means, unlike the last time, we can't use a purchase from Dollarama as 1 of our shops. Since we don't earn AMs directly from Dollarama and it comes because we used a credit card connected to AMs, would this be a no?
Looking for thoughts, what say you all??

I think you are correct as Dollarama is directly tied to BMO mastercards, which isn't an offer this time around.

your AM BMO card won't count. Airmilesshops won't count if you book travel through it.
Dollarama will count, it's a MC card, not a BMO offer.
