Girls Trip Take 2 - Labor Day Weekend 2021 and Christmas 2021 Trip

It sounds like this trip was a lot of fun. We are planning a few years to go with friends of ours that have twins that just turned 2 this week. It is so different going with kids. It is just a different kind of magic.

Kids really do make the trip different. There is a special kind of magic when you see the parks through a kids eyes.

Boo Bash or Bust- MK Tuesday, September 7, 2021
It was finally time to experience my first Disney After-Hours Event. Due to Covid, Disney wasn't ready to do a full Halloween Party so they did an After-Hours Event. This was a first for us and since we had not attended a Halloween Party either we didn't have anything to compare it too. I have since been to my 1st Party so now I do have something to compare it to so I will most likely make comments in relation to that.
The Boo Bash didn't officially start until 9 and ended at 12. You could enter the park starting at 7, but since we had hoppers/annual pass we could enter at any time after 2. I would like to have entered it earlier but since we spent way too much time in Studios that did not happen. I can never have too much time in MK.
We didn't have much time to rest and change, but we did dress in costume for the party. My first photo of the night was taken at Movies waiting for the bus. My costume was Boo from Monsters Inc and I lucked out in meeting a fellow Boo. She was so cute! Her mother did give me permission to take a selfie with her. This was taken right before 7 pm and as you can see the bus was there.

We entered the park and got our bracelets and goodie bags. I was very happy to see this.
1705026188692.png

We made our way down Main Street and grabbed a piece of curb. We had missed seeing HEA earlier in the week and I wasn't going to miss it again since it was going away to make room for Enchantment. We did not know that HEA would come back so for me it was my last chance to see it. He's a first peek at Leah and my costumes. Leah's was very original. It was so simple and so perfect. She got so many compliments all night and few "best costume" stickers from CMs. Can you guess who she was?
1705026470922.png

If you guessed Kuzco for "The Emperor's New Groove" you would be correct. The was the only Kuzco we saw.

My Boo costume was simple and very comfortable. I was very proud of my monster bear. I got him at a thrift store and used my Cricut to make his eye and horns.

I truly enjoyed seeing HEA! It's a favorite of mine. "Ready to Begin"

After wishes we went to Adventureland and rode Pirates. When we came out we found Pirate Goofy. I wasn't able to get a good picture of him since he was always in motion. This was take right after the official party started.
1705026798179.png

You couldn't meet the characters due to Covid restrictions but there were out and about, not near as many as at the Party.

We did some trick or treating and finally meet up with Danielle. She was fashionably late. There were only 8 treat spots which is well below the amount of treat spots at the Party. Danielle being late was something that occurred for both Boo Bash and the Party.
She threw together a Tink costume and used her light up wings she got at cast connections on her first program.
1705027143723.png
We were in Frontierland and caught the Cadaver Dans but I didn't get a picture. We also caught Mickey's Cavalcade.
1705027290974.png

1705027312486.png

Boo Bash didn't have the fabulous parade but did have several Cavalcades. The crowds were also way lower than the Party.

We stayed in the same area and got in line for Haunted Mansion. I experience one of the biggest treat for me of the night. We got to watch Carlotta & Butler Broome while we went through the line. She was such a hoot! I could have listened to her all night. HM was also so spooky looking. I'm sad to say I did not get to see Carlotta or Rinatta when I went to the Party. They had left before we made it to HM.

1705027975324.png
We left Liberty Square and headed to Fantasyland to hit some more Treat spots.
1705028087019.png

We ran into Foulfellow and Gideon when we stopped for treats at Pinocchio's Village Haus.
1705028265177.png
I know we got waters, diet cokes, Mickey Bars and popcorn during the night. The later it got the shorter the lines. I didn't do a good job of taking photos so I would remember better what we did so I'm sure I'm missing some stuff.
We did go to Tomorrowland and took our only photopass shots.

1705028474654.png

We made a special stop in Monster's Inc. This was a treat spot but also a place to sit down and cool off. There was a running show going on with the Monster's interacting with the guests for laughs. I did get called out for my Boo costume. It was all great fun.
1705028628453.png
We rode Buzz Lightyear before heading back to Fantasyland. It was getting close to closing. The time was just going way too fast.
1705028704355.png
1705028739927.png

Danielle called it quits after Buzz and headed back to her apartment. Leah and I headed to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for our last ride of the night.
1705029022162.png
Boo Bash was officially over after we got off the ride.
We slowly made our way out.
1705029113834.png

We were soon on a bus and headed back to Movies. Getting back to Movies was not nearly the fiasco we had when we left the party this year. The lower crowds at Boo Bash really made a difference. Leah would be leaving the next day to fly home but I had one more night. We had another breakfast and planned to spend a little more time in a park before ME came to pick her up.

All in all the Boo Bash sounds like a great night. I love all your costumes and that you got a selfie with your mini me Boo. :goodvibes
The lower crowds make for lovely relaxed evening. I know you didn’t get to actually meet them but the selection of characters sound great. Did they do cavalcades at the Halloween party or was it just 1 big parade that night?

Andi and I did the Boo Bash that same year. I was in a wheelchair because of my ankle! We loved the low crowds but my ankle definitely put a damper on it! We didn’t do much.
I love your costume and I’m glad you saw Carlotta. I have seen her a couple times and she is amazing!

It was a good night.

There were several cavalcades running. I don't have my list with me right now. It was very similar to the ones you could see the year before during fall without a Boo Bash or party.

I remember you being in a wheelchair. Sorry it slowed you down. I miss the low crowds.

Caroltta was the best. I would love to catch her again.

First! I didn't know that.

And judging from what I saw... lower crowds, but... I'll still take the party. That parade is the best.

I'm not surprised. Very creative!

Nice job. :)
finally meet up with Danielle. She was fashionably late.

Boo Bash didn't have the fabulous parade
Yeah... that's a deal breaker for me.

They're soooo good! I remember interacting with Carlotta. Such fun. :)
I'm sad to say I did not get to see Carlotta or Rinatta when I went to the Party. They had left before we made it to HM.
Too bad. :(
We ran into Foulfellow and Gideon when we stopped for treats at Pinocchio's Village Haus.
Cool! Never seen them.
Cute! :)
I did get called out for my Boo costume.
:goodvibes
The time was just going way too fast.
<sigh> It always does.
We slowly made our way out.
Only way to leave. Definitely never gonna rush out of MK!

Love your costumes! The bear idea was really cute!

Were you glad you experienced Boo Bash before an official party? Or do you think you were comparing the low crowds/less treat trails throughout the party night?

And judging from what I saw... lower crowds, but... I'll still take the party. That parade is the best.

Having done both, I do prefer the party. The lower crowds were very nice, but it was missing so much.

I'm not surprised. Very creative!

Her Mom came up with the costume. It was made with felt. She was reluctant at first to wear it, but got so many compliments. She was feeling great after that.

Nice job. :)

Thank you,

They're soooo good! I remember interacting with Carlotta. Such fun. :)

When she was leaving for her break she saw me videoing and stopped to give me the full effect.

Only way to leave. Definitely never gonna rush out of MK!
So true.

Thank you!!

I was glad we did it. Most Disney fans were glad to see any type of normalcy at that time. I'm glad I had a taste of both an after hours party and Halloween. I enjoyed the party so much more but it was so crowded. I would love to be able to do 2 parties to see and do more.

How could she not? Both get lots of compliments and feel great! :)

That's great!!

This sounds like an awesome night. I haven't one to one of the parties yet but I want to at some point.

I loved the costumes. I first thought Leah was either tweedle dee or or tweedle dum. I am not sure I have see Emperors New Grove. This came out around high school and I wasn't watching the movies as much and they did not compare to the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.

I think it made her trip.

You need to give it a try.

Emperors New Grove is really good. So many classic one liners. I highly suggest watching it.

Wednesday, September 8, 2021- The Last Park Day

Today was the dreaded "Last Park Day". I hate saying it, but we can't avoid it.

Leah would be flying back home today, originally I would have been flying back home too. Her flight was scheduled for 5:54 pm and ME was set for 2:45. She had a few hours to enjoy Disney some more. I would be staying another night and driving home the next morning.

We had had a very late night so we weren't rushing to get up. We did have a breakfast to get too so we did have to get moving. We had a breakfast ADR for 10:20 am at Ale & Compass. This was a first for all of us. I know this was our second day in a row with a breakfast, but Dennis doesn't like doing breakfast so I have to get these in when he isn't with me.

Danielle has not spent the night with us but she did come and pick us up and drive us to the Yacht Club. We were looking forward to eating here even with the limited options due to Covid. The breakfast buffet was not included as part of the meal.

We got there a little early so we checked out the lobby. It so nice and relaxing. Blue is my favorite color so I really love this lobby.

1706154024228.png
We were soon seated. Christina was our waitress and soon had us filled in on the menu and taken care of in short order.

Danielle had the Salted Caramel-Apple French Toast with bacon. She also had a side of Shrimp and Grits with a Latte.
1706154218448.png
1706154245105.png

This looks so good. I'm not a Shrimp and Grits fan but that French Toast was really good. She really enjoyed her choice and had lots to share with us and still have some to take back to her apartment.

I had the Crab Cake Benedict with potatoes and a side of fruit. I also had a Cappuccino to give me the added caffeine I needed. I really loved this and would get it again. I ended up only eating one of the crab cakes and sending the rest back with Danielle.

1706154501359.png

Leah had the Blueberry-Bacon Pancakes with bacon and a side of fruit. She also had a French Roast for her caffeine fix. This was another great meal, and once again part of it went home with Danielle. Her fridge was very full with leftovers.
1706154623073.png

We used one of Danielle's Holiday Coupons and got 40% off the meal. Danielle gets 20% off on most table service restaurants at all times. They offer special Holiday Coupons to the Cast Members every September that are good until the following year. They aren't good at all restaurants, but are for most. They are given a 50%, 40% and 30% off coupon. They are also given a few snack coupons for water, cokes, pretzels, popcorn and Mickey bars. They are basically the same snacks you get at an after-hour event. She was very generous with her coupons on this trip. I guess she was really happy to see us. Whenever we use her discount or coupons they do include 18% gratuity on the bill. We always tip more. When she shows her ID and/or coupon the question always comes up "Where do you make Magic?". It's nice to visit with fellow Cast Members.

I did take this one photo inside Ale & Compass.
1706155091772.png

Once we were done eating, Danielle took her leftovers and headed back to her apartment. She needed to get some laundry done but I would be seeing her a little later. She and Leah said their goodbyes.

Leah and I headed to the front of the Yacht Club to catch a bus to a park. Can you guess what park?

If you know me you know I can never get enough time in MK. I know we were just there the night before but I still had some rides I wanted to ride. We made it to the entrance for around 12:30 pm.
1706155286452.png

We were soon walking down Main Street.

1706155388388.png

Continued in next post. . .

We stopped for another Photo Pass picture. Look how empty Main Street was. I really miss the lower crowds.
1706155901609.png

We didn't have much time so we hustled on. Leah had to catch her ME bus in just a few hours.

We went straight back to Fantasyland. Our first stop was the Tangled bathrooms. This was my first time to look up and I'm so glad I did. I love the painting from Rapunzel on the ceilings, another example of the details.
1706156043172.png

1706156060859.png

It really makes me wonder what the Men's bathroom looks like.

Can you guess what ride we did? Only my favorite Fantasyland ride ever, Peter Pan.

Leah offered to ride with me since no one else would do it earlier in the trip. She was my favorite on this day.
1706156199823.png
1706156221137.png

We next did another FL ride we had missed, Pooh. Leah enjoyed all the hands on fun while we went through the line. I think both Peter Pan and Pooh were a first for her.
1706156335317.png
1706156356540.png

We had to head out after Pooh but wanted to get a snack with some of Danielle's coupons before we left. We each grabbed a water and pretzel as we headed out.
1706156458050.png

We were soon back at Movies. I helped Leah get her stuff together and waited with her for ME.

We had a great time with her and I'm so glad she came. She fit right in with all our craziness and we loved sharing "our Disney" with her.

Up next will be my final hours with Danielle.

Glad I popped over when I did! I thought I was going to be way behind but not too bad!

I have yet to go to Ale and Compass even though we stay at Yacht Club all the time! I think I need to at least to take out this next trip!

We could hear the Magic Kingdom train and could see the Contemporary and a little of the Magic Kingdom. I changed my opinion of our room when we heard the first booms of the Christmas Party fireworks.
Do you remember what room you were in!! Way back when, we were able to see fireworks from our room. It was magical!

It really makes me wonder what the Men's bathroom looks like.
Have Grumpy take a pick next time! The men's room sounds better than the womens!
