    Disney, GCH, and 1st B-Day Trip Report (1/21 - 1/27)

It even got easier for us as the trip went on! Haha by Wednesday we had a pretty smooth system down for the parks, when to take breaks, what to bring from the hotel, etc. By the flight home we weren't even really worried about it. We've done a few road trips and I think I prefer flying with a...

    Disney, GCH, and 1st B-Day Trip Report (1/21 - 1/27)

Hello All! We got back a few days ago from our trip to Disneyland for our daughter's first B-Day, and I wanted to share our experience as 2 parents juggling a 1-year old, what worked and what didn't, how the GCH was to a couple of first-timers, and Disneyland in Jan! My goal was to make this...

The new Pixar Place Hotel worth a look

I feel like you have every right to be upset with that kind of customer service, that's absolutely awful. If there is a good reason for not letting you have a renovated room, the CMs should either be able to tell you. If there isn't a good reason and it's random or they want to keep rooms open...

    World of Color Dessert Open

Not that this helps anyone right now, but I'll be able to confirm the drink limit on 1/22 if no one else does before then!

    World of Color Dessert Open

It really depends on how much you value being able to sit for the show and have a good view without needing to worry about getting a good spot much earlier in the evening. It's not worth it for the food, but if you're an infrequent visitor I think it's worth it just for the hassle-free...

World of Color: One is running during parts of Jan and Feb? I thought it was going to be closed for a while to start the year.

I don't see any for our dates, (jan 23 - 26), so I'm also curious if they're sold out or not.

Echoing others - not necessary but convenient. If you are trying to cut unnecessary costs, then don't get them. My family is not local, so our trips to Disneyland are every few years and cost at least a few thousand after all is said and done. I spent $100 total for my wife and I, (bought her...

Extra Park Day for HMH on 1/21

I love this response, thank you so much! Everyone has given me a lot to consider, and I think what I'll end up doing is buying the single day, surprising my wife with the park when we get there, and play it by ear. Like you said, I won't consider the tickets for just HMH, they'll be just to dip...

Extra Park Day for HMH on 1/21

Should I schedule an extra park day for the final day of HMH? Context: HM with the holiday overlay is my wife's favorite ride. We arrive in Anaheim on 1/21 in the afternoon, and we are in the parks between 1/22 - 1/26. We'll get to GCH around 2ish, so that's about when we could head to the...

Early Entry on Saturday January 20th starts at Disneyland/New Schedule

If your family isn't going to be up early for EE, I just think you should make park reservations for whichever park you think you'll want to start with. If you do rope drop, the benefit to choosing the park without EE means you can try to knock out more popular rides with no EE guests being in...

Why bother calling it "The Holidays"?

Disney calling it the "Holidays" is actually a perfectly apt name for a generic celebration of the season at their parks. Ever heard "Happy Holidays"? I'm all for additional representation, but I'm not sure why you appear to have an expectation that there would be more merch for...

    Disney After Dark Sweethearts night

I also almost missed my window. Timer was around 40min left so I went to make coffee, then ended up chatting with my wife for a bit. That 40min ended up being closer to 30, and when I went back to my computer I saw the screen had changed and said "F@#$". Turns out it was on ticket selection.. I...

    Disney After Dark Sweethearts night

This is the first I have experienced - there is a ticket queue to buy the tickets... My wait time currently is more than an hour which does not give me confidence that I will get a ticket for the night we want to go.

    ****January 2024 planning thread!!!

There will be some entertainment if you're going towards the end of Jan. They start the Lunar New Year celebration, and I believe there is a small parade along with a mini-food and wine type event, (small pop-up stands for themed food and drinks). Weather permitting, there should also be...

January 2024 Refurbs - World of Color, Grizzly River Run & Blue Bayou Restaurant &more...

I'll be keeping an eye on this and my fingers crossed! I may add an extra park day to our arrival JUST so my wife gets to ride HM before it goes down, (we arrive on 1/21). The holiday overlay is her favorite.
