A naive Aussie's PTR

Thanks for the send-off everyone :goodvibes

Turns out DH can take me to the airport, but I was ready at about 7am :rotfl: so now I'm just waiting waiting waiting for him to get home so we can go!

Reporting to you from Paris! :cool1:

After a solid couple of days of travel, we finally arrived in Paris at 5:30am this morning. After meeting Dad at our hotel and freshening up, we spent the day walking around the city. We did so much today that I had written off thinking we'd be too exhausted after travel. We started off walking to Notre Dame Cathedral and checking that out, but the line was too long for us to climb the tower. Then we continued to the Louvre, didn't go in but admired the building and courtyard. Then strolled the Champs d'Elysee and checked out the Arc d'Triomphe (again, didn't climb because of the long line). Plus many interesting things on the way.

We were out walking from about 10am til about 5pm, with only a short break for lunch. My feet are sore, I have blisters, and I am absolutely exhausted! Will sleep well tonight for sure!

Glad that you're safely in Paris; blisters and all. Sounds like you're having a great time!

Sure am PIO :goodvibes

Go to a pharmacy & get some competed blister plasters - they work wonders

Thanks - plain old bandaids seem to be doing the trick now :thumbsup2

Got the train to Innsbruck today via Zurich. Was a long day on the train but it went quickly with such amazing scenery :lovestruc We've just had a quick wander around Innsbruck, but so far it is definitely living up to my expectations!

Darn it-I missed saying bon voyage. Sounds like the trip got off to a wonderful start. Enjoy!! Looking forward to further posts and a detailed TR on your return! My ticker is under 3 months finally!!!

Enjoy! We'll be here waiting for you to return and share your pictures.

Yes, taking notes for my TR as we go, though I have to admit I've been a bit slack with the food porn :rotfl: That next 3 months will just fly by!

Just checking in quickly from Montreux. So far we've been to Paris, Innsbruck, Lucerne, then Montreux. Have really enjoyed everything, but Innsbruck and Montreux are my favourites so far :goodvibes

In Innsbruck we visited the ski jump and went to the top of Nordkette. We were so lucky with the weather - it was perfectly sunny all day and we got great views! In Lucerne we went to the top of Mt Pilatus. We weren't as lucky there and we weren't quite out of the cloud at the top of the mountain so we really couldn't see anything! The snow was pretty incredible though - piles of it everywhere! Afterwards we went for a bit of a self-guided walking tour of the old city, and it started snowing :goodvibes Just a short train ride this morning, and it was snowing the whole way. This afternoon we walked up to Chateau de Chillon in the snow!

Tomorrow we're due to go up Rochers-de-Naye, so hoping this cloud goes away for a bit :rotfl:

Glad to hear to enjoying your trip :goodvibes and hopefully no snowing for you tomorrow...

Well it wasn't snowing in Montreux today... but on the mountain it was, and it was so thick with cloud we couldn't see 5 metres away :rotfl: Still an awesome experience though!

Tomorrow we've got an early start, back to Paris again. We had to be back in time for Mum's surprise leaving the Eiffel Tower at 4pm :thumbsup2

Back in Paris again now, and it is still snowing! I think it's following us :rotfl: We did Mum's surprise, which I can now say was a horse and carriage ride around Paris from the Eiffel Tower. Was pretty magical (but cold!) with a bit of snowfall around!

I really enjoyed my time in Austria and Switzerland and will definitely be back! Now to enjoy the next couple of days in Paris, then go get my next Disney fix pixiedust:
