I went through a few months of acupuncture for lower back pain. While I had some relief from it, I ended up in the hospital for 12 days from a horrible infection that the Infections Disease doctors thought came from the acupuncture. My acupuncture was being done by a certified dr so I didn't give it any thought when she did the acupuncture without wiping down the areas with alcohol wipes first because the needles were sterile.

So 12 days in the hospital, emergency back surgery (which truly fixed my back problem), and 8 weeks of IV antibiotics. I won't be trying acupuncture again!
