ALL NEW DISNEY VACATION CLUB IN FLORIDA

Since DVC is in the business of selling more points and not building to please its present members I think that we will see a lot more DVC buildings going up in WDW. It's a fact that those units sell and the 2 outside of WDW have always had problems turning the sells as quickly. I think that is what DVC is really all about, having great vacations every year at WDW. There are plenty of timeshares out there that offer great trades to most anywhere in the world. What makes DVC different is that they are right inside WDW and ran by Disney itself. Plus it is a way to get more people in the parks to spend even more money. On the matter of location of the new BCV, I had read quite awhile back that the CM parking lot at BC was closed and a parking lot across the street was opened for them to park in. A CM said the old parking lot was slated for the new DVC buildings that were to be built there. I'm not sure where this parking lot is located. Anyone know? I hope that when we are there in November that we will be able to see some of the construction to get a better idea of where these will be located

Now I'm wondering, with the information about the new resort being released, if it will spur DVC into bringing out a new incentive plan to encourage future sales.

Talk about a fireworks view!! 5th floor facing Epcot? I'll stay and charge admission!

Maybe this is where the whole Vacation Club thing started, but why doesn't DVC just make it more reasonable for us members to stay in the existing resorts, ie: Poly, Contemporary, GF, CB, DL, PO etc. Isn't that what alot of us want anyway - being able to stay at any of the WDW resorts. That's how my wife and I did it for the 23 years before we joined DVC. The accomodations were always just fine (sometimes perfect). Disney could expand the hotel portions of the resorts and not bother with these Villas. Then they could concentrate on making the exchange program more varied and reasonable.
We just spent a week in a 1 BR at BWV and it was nice, but we agreed that our subsequent visits would be in a studio, or 2 studios if we bring the grandkids (that's all we really need) - so little time in the room.
Are there other that feel this way?

A few weeks back, DIS had a post on where you think the next one would go. One of my arguments that it WOULDN'T be at Y&B was that it was too close to BWV. Whoops!

Either way, I would welcome it; another opportunity to enjoy WDW at a different facility!

I definitely would love to see a Disnelyand Villas Resort in Anaheim CA.

We have points in OKW and BWV and . . . soon (I hope) BCV! This is a great location. We've stayed in all the resorts, and the off property resorts are nice, but they don't compare to OKW and BWV. I hope DVC goes through with this.

(By the way, we stayed at The Plaza in New York City, using DVC points, last weekend, and it was ok. Not great, but ok. At 45 points a night, I don't think I would waste the points this way again.)

I am planning on joining DVC in the near future, but now that the Beach Club location has been announced, I would really like that to be my home resort. Would DVC allow me to purchase points now to use at the other locations, then when BCV open have that be my home resort?

Grotto, in short NO! You will have a deed stating ownership of a specific property. You could add on at the VBC when sales begin- or sell your other contract and buy at VBC, but you won't be able to just "trade" home resorts thru DVC.

I was told it would be across the street from the BC where the old BC cast member parking was. They moved that lot months ago and at the time BC cast members were told it was because of the new DVC resort.

I just returned from a stay at OKW because I couldn't get into my home resort BWV. I was VERY disappointed with the transportation from and to OKW. The buses were slow and far between going both directions, and I didn't like the "out of the way" feel of OKW (but perhaps that feeling was heightened by the fact that I couldn't get transportation fast enough!) BWV is a very popular resort because of its location and that means that it fills up quickly and last minute ressies are not as easy to come by. Hence my stay at OKW. For me, another resort at that popular spot by the international gateway is fabulous news! Not only does it mean that there will be another popular location to draw those who may be interested in staying at BWV, but it also means that I will have an option besides OKW if my Boardwalk fills up before I make my ressie!

Also, I've stayed in many WDW properties as well as three DVC resorts and let me tell you: DVC does it better!!!

I'd be interested in DVC resorts elsewhere too, of course, but we do have the concierge collection to keep our wanderlust satisfied for the time being....

Wow! I think this is great news. It should be quite a boost for DVC.

Being from Calif., I too, would like to see a DVC resort on the west coast. As I understand it, DVC had bought property there at one time, but was unable to develop and market it because DVC is a lease that expires in 2042. I believe that according to CA law, a timeshare must be a permanent, deeded property. Oh well....

Can't wait to see plans for the new resort! Thanks for sharing this information.

I was told today, the location will be to the left of the front entrance of the Beach club. The tennis courts are being moved to the Yacht Club and the valet parking is being moved, not sure where. The old Cast Member parking lot will be the new Beach Club additional parking lot across the street. A new CM parking lot will be built.

Any idea when the Beach Club Villas will go on sale? Will it "pre-sell", if so when??? <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

They are doing construction there now. I just assumed it was the BCV being worked on. If it is, they are located right between The BCV and The International Gateway, but set back a bit from the walkway to EPCOT. They are more towards the canal that runs along the other side of the BC. The canal is actually dammed off and they have some heavyduty cranes doing some major work. From what I could see, there are two structures being built but these only looked to be 2-3 stories high and square. They seemed kind of small so maybe they aren't the actual rooms being built yet. You can see them through the trees as the buss passes between Epcot and the BC on its way to the BW. I'm sorry I don't have more info or better yet, pictures, but I thought this was old news. I didn't know that DVC didn't officially come out with a statement.

I agree they should make the other resorts more reasonable for staying on points - now we cannot even stay at the WL unless we can somehow get a reservation at VWL.
While we are wishing, I wish they would either greatly expand the concierge collection and include more moderately-priced resorts, and/or they would open dvc resorts in New Orleans, Gatlingburg,Vail, Sedona, near Yosemite, say Mariposa, Seattle, NYC, Las Vegas....(they could be mini-resorts....)
