And they're off! Live trip report

Haven't been on the forum in ages as no trips planned for a while BUT loving your trip report, it is the very next best thing to being there!

Enjoy the rest of your trip :)

I'm loving reading along

We also enjoy bob evans for breakfast.

Have only been to bok tower once but was a lovely place.

Glad that people are enjoying the report.

Had a super day today at Bok Tower. Spent a few hours strolling around the gardens and also reading again about the origins of the place.

We had bought two folding chairs at Walmart the other day, so a couple of hours before the concert started we got our chairs from the car and set them up in a shaded spot overlooking the stage. We had pre-ordered a picnic box each for our dinner so were able to relax and eat that before the concert started right on time at 7 pm. The first band were called The Green Cards and did a really good set of a little over an hour. We then had an interval before the headline band, Connor Christian and Southern Gothic, came on. They did over 90 minutes and were excellent, doing their original material as well as covers of Feetwood Mac, Neil Young and Dexy's Midnight Runners!

Great setting for a wonderful concert.

Won't be an early start tomorrow as we've had a late night, but will possibly be going to the Celebration Pie Festival and/or Leesburg Bikefest.

Bok gardenena were on my list last time we visited but I got out voted for another day at Universal! Might get there one day :)

Looking forward to the next update :thumbsup2

Enjoying your live trippie ..... Now off to research the Hard Rock VIP tour!

Being from Lancashire, we have concluded we are more 'Piefest' than 'Bikefest'!

:rotfl2:

Hope you had a good day at the pie fest. You've been before haven't you ?

Yes. We have been before. It's a great place to people-watch!

Don't think I want to see another piece of pie for a while!

I've uploaded a few photos.

This was DH's dinner at Manny's the other night.

Today at the Celebration Pie
Festival

After a lie-in till 8 am we decided not to drive to Leesburg today and to just go to Celebration and take a look at the Pie Festival.

It was a very hot day and temperatures were hitting 90 F by late morning. The crowds were building and there was a long queue for the 'never ending pie buffet' well before the 12 noon opening. For only $10 per person, you could have as much pie as you wanted. There was even free ice cream to go wth it, and free coffee and (strangely) free cheese samples too.

After eating a few pieces of pie, we decided we should probably have a walk to work off some of the calories! We did a walk around the three lakes and had another close encounter with nature. A 5 foot alligator was in the gulley by the side of the path. We were only a matter of a yard or so away. A reminder of how close they can be without us being aware, as it was only pointed out to us by another couple. We may not have spotted it.

We then had the slightly surreal experience of viewing a house for sale at a price of $3.9m!

A man passed us and told us that there was an open house at one of the big houses backing onto the third lake and suggested we went to have a look. So we did. It was huge and had the most amazing cinema room on the first floor. The agent was quite happy for us to wander around and see it all. Don't think we'll be putting in an offer though!

We then went to DTD for a stroll around. It was hot hot hot. We ate at Sweet Tomatoes again.

Early night tonight as we are going to Discovery Cove tomorrow.

That's insane - they have a grand piano in the hallway!

Sadly, the house is empty now, so we didnt see the piano etc

Of course, if we were to buy it, everyone on here would be very welcome!

Wifi problems again this evening at the townhouse, so we are in the clubhouse at the moment just reading emails. Not much time for an update on today other than to say we had a really chilled day at DC. We had done the dolphin swim a few years back so didn't bother this time, but it was still a fantastic experience to spend the day there.

As we had both breakfast and lunch there today, we aren't eating out tonight.

Tomorrow we are heading over to Busch Gardens.

Weather is still very hot - and there's been a thunderstorm this evening.

Plans for BG scuppered due to airbag warning light appearing on car. Need to take it to exchange it. :sad1:
