anyone else hate all the fast pass and dining planning?

I'm a planner but I found the stress level very high regarding booking FP+ at 7am on the 60 day mark! I had my daughter on her app, my husband on his app and I was on the computer just to be sure we got FP for FoP and 7DMT on the days we planned. :rolleyes2 But now that those are booked I'm just relaxing and looking forward to the trip.

It is hard in relationship to booking your must have dining adrs before you can pick your FP, gives you less flexibilty. I always hope I've picked the right park on the right day etc...

Completely agree it would be better to have FP first

All the planning can be overwhelming at times, but I feel that when I'm making my reservations it makes it all real. as I look at my planner that now looks like a conspiracy board, lol, it makes me think to myself, "Wow...This is really happening now!"

ughhh... it's 4:30 am our fast pass window opened at 4am and I just selected our fast passes for the trip. was able to get FOP but not until evening.everything up 3pm was already gone.

Yes, which is why I prefer Disneyland with the old Fast Pass system. It's nice to be able to walk to a ride like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with a return time 30 minutes away and go ride Pirates with a 10 - 20 minute wait since it's not on Fast Pass so the line keeps moving. When I was there this past July, some other rides like Haunted Mansion had a Fast Pass return time that was less time than the posted standby wait time or getting a Blue Bayou reservation an hour before deciding to have lunch there.

Yes, but the WDW system can do that too...IMO the WDW system is light years better than the old paper system. For example, I can be standing in the FP+ queue for Pirates while I'm making a FP+ reservation for BTMRR that will allow us to get on it as soon as we're done Pirates. So I don't even need to walk over to the ride to get a paper ticket and then find something to do for the next 30 minutes. I can literally hop from one ride to another. Can't do that with paper.

I'm not a planner at all. I know a lot of people here use spreadsheets and such. That would literally be a deal breaker for me, I would refuse to go if I had to do that. We're very much wing it people. Yes, we "plan" our 3 FP+ 30 days out (we stay offsite), but that's it. And very often, we change those last minute. FP+ allows that flexibility, which I absolutely love.

My official job for the government is IT Specialist, my unofficial job is Project Manager. We are not going on trip#5 until June and I am already beginning rough plans for our 2021 trip. I really love structure and planning.
