Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

....

While we were getting ready, the guests were arriving at the hotel!

(That's my Dad on the right, he kept popping downstairs to meet family & friends as they arrived, and escape the over-excited bride & bridesmaids I think ;) !)

The registrar was great at talking us both through what was going to happen when & where during the ceremony...

Everything looked beautiful! I still LOVE your dress! And the flowers were gorgeous! I wore my mom's ring as my something borrowed too! I had to drop off my engagement ring to the jewelers on Thursday afternoon to get it soldered to the wedding band since my wedding band goes on top and bottom the ring and I didn't want it be twisty for pictures after the wedding. And since I felt weird without a ring, I stole my mom's to wear on my ring finger for our Welcome Party and Rehearsal dinner!

I can't wait to see more pics!

Thank you :goodvibes
It was nice wearing my Mum's ring as my 'something old' - I wore it on my right hand with my engagement ring too.. so that my left hand was 'free' for the ceremony & getting my wedding ring! :lovestruc
I never used to wear any rings, but it was funny how quickly you get to used to wearing an engagement ring, and now the two together.. hand looks empty without them! :cutie:

More pics to come... happy weekend everyone!

Very soon it was 2pm, and time for the bridal party to make our way to the ceremony room!

Me walking down the beautiful staircase with my Dad...

20110617_142.jpg

The bridesmaids and my Mum were led to outside the ceremony room, while my Dad and I were taken to the library room bar to meet the registrar - she talked me through the ceremony, asked some (easy) questions.. then it was time! While we were there, a barman brought over an ice cold glass of water for me, it was very much appreciated - my heart was beating so fast by that point!

My Dad & I waiting outside the room...

The door next to us was open, and my Dad was saying 'I think the rain has passed now' - in this photo I think!

20110617_145bw.jpg

Very soon I heard the start of 'When you wish upon a star'.. and the doors opened ..

20110617_149.jpg

20110617_150.jpg

When I looked into the room, all I could see was a sea of faces looking at me - I recognised a few people, but then I saw my groom & just focused on him!!

Then it was time to get married!

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before when recapping our wedding day, but the registrar said something at the start about Steve looking like the footballer Michael Owen?! :cutie: No one's ever said that before, but it was quite funny & made everyone laugh!

Aaw those are such lovely photos Emma :lovestruc I have to admit I got a tad bit emotional looking at your photos and reading about the day :cutie:

I love the photo of you and your dad on the stairs and had to do a double-take when I saw Michael Owen...thought I was on the wrong page for a minute hehe. That is so funny and I had to go back to see a pic of DH to check the resemblance

Hope you are having a great weekend and good luck with your exams. I hope they go really well and look forward to the new PTR :goodvibes

aww thank you Tanz! :cutie: it's lovely looking at the photos and remembering it all.. in some ways I feel like I dreamt it! :cloud9:

It was so odd when she said that about DH and Michael Owen.. caught us completely off guard, there was a collective 'huh?' and a giggle in the ceremony room!

More pictures on the way..

.......

next we had to sign the marriage register (the one in the photos is actually a 'fake' empty book, apparently it's against the law to have the real one in pictures?! :confused3)

20110617_198.jpg

with our witnesses, my cousin & her husband..

20110617_199.jpg

(while we all signed the register, the music we had playing was 'Por Ti Volare' by Andrea Bocelli, followed by 'Married Life' score from the Pixar movie Up! :wizard: I don't know if anyone noticed it or knew where it was from, but Steve & I both loved that movie so it seemed appropriate :lovestruc)

Then we walked back down the aisle as husband & wife - we chose 'Arrival of the Queen of Sheba' for this, it fitted the venue I think :thumbsup2

Bridesmaids..

20110617_203.jpg

We didn't know this until we saw the photos.. but my Mum walked with Steve's Dad, and my Dad walked with Steve's Mum! :cutie:

20110617_205.jpg

I remember as we got out of the room being so pleased to feel the fresh air.. I don't think it had been particuarly hot in there, but with the nerves & excitement I'd felt like I was really red in the face!
We were handed glasses of champagne with strawberries in them - but I think I only had one sip before it was time for the formal photos in the gardens....

oh these pictures are so great! you both look so happy. everything looked beautiful! The venue was very pretty and i love the decor.

Next we went outside for the reception drinks & canapes and the formal group photos.

We heard from our guests that the canapes were really good (Pimms & lemonade, with smoked salmon & caviar blinis and duck spring rolls) but we didn't even see them as we were busy having photos taken! :cutie:

My family...

Then all of our guests headed inside the hotel to the Library bar, and we went to have our bride & groom photos... it was lovely just to be the two of us for a short while, find out about each other's mornings pre-ceremony!

The photographer took a lot of photos around the hotel's gardens...

While we were having our photos taken in the gardens, our guests were in the library bar - we joined them, and then the toast-master led everyone across the courtyard of the hotel and to the suite where we were having our wedding breakfast and reception..

We had the speeches before the meal, get them out the way so that the groom, my Dad & father-in-law could relax and enjoy the food :cutie:

Emma, all of the pictures are just beautiful! I love the ones of you and Steve during the speeches. You look so in love. :cloud9: I know I've said it before, but your venue was so amazing! Some of your pictures looks like they came right out of a Disney movie! :goodvibes
