Dining Swap Interest Thread

Do we know what time this will be opening up?

I am not even positive on what day exactly it will open up I just know it will be next week- I would say it will open up in the morning on the day I open it- because I will open it when I get on the boards for the day so sometime between 6-9am depending on how my night and early morning goes.

Will you give us notice so that we are prepared? I know you are on vaca, so I was just wondering.

I will post at least the day before to let you know- a lot of it depends on what all I have on my plate when I arrive home- it won't be Tuesday because I have a doctor's appointment then.

:thumbsup2 Cool!!! Thanks a bunch and enjoy the rest of your time in WDW!!!!

I don't know how you feel about this idea, but I'll throw it out there...

For the Resort swap hosted by Hopemax we all used the same set of colors of Bazzill cardstock 9specified for each group) for our elements. I loved how it turned out because everything mixes and matches within a group so well. It's very easy to put a page together.

I'm going on past experience from the dining swap last year. I found it tough to use things together from a character meal/restaraunt group because there were so many different elements and some were vastly different colors etc.

Would you consider making groups use a set of Bazzill colors?

I haven't been to enough of the restaurants trhat are high on the list to even consider this- plus with many of the choices being character meals some people will focus on the characters and other on the decor- it would be close to impossible to try and do this for places.

This idea is why the groups with various places with each person doing a set of elements that match works better for some people. I do know that my LTT and Garden Grill elements in a previous swap went together very well.

As it is I will choose the top 10-15 places from everyone's posts to have as individual groups and then have groups based on areas and such as well as general dining groups. I can't handle a group for every establishment on both properties. I will have at least 2-3 from Disneyland, 2 that are at both places, and the rest from wdw.

Right now the places mentioned the most to me have been:
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
1900 Park Fare (I will do 1 roup not diferent for breakfast/dinner)
Rainforest Cafe
Akerhaus
Garden Grill Cinderella Royal TableAriel's Grotto
Goofy's Kitchen
Pizza Planet

I think I may be interested, but I have a few questions...I have done lots of swaps before on other boards, but never on this one. Is the idea to pick one restaurant (per group) and then have each person do "elements" for that one restaurant? My question is how do we make sure that those elements go together on a page or will match each other?

On the other boards I do swaps on typically we each do a tag/title etc for one theme within a broader topic. For example we would do Magic Kingdom restaurants and then I would pick one restaurant in that topic and do a tag / title for that.

I would be interested in the following restaurants...

Chef D'France
Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
Biergarten
Ohana
Askerhous
Whispering Canyon Cafe
1900 Park Fare
Sanaa

The overall idea is that if everyone is focusing on the sam place they should be similar enough. So far the groups I have done like this have done well.

There will be groups for specific places and then there will be groups where everyone will choose a place and do a group of elements- 2 mats and then 2 other elements so in those groups you will have a full page kit for each place.

I will upload a list of the groups tomorrow and open for sign-ups on Tuesday. I will be gone to a doctor's appointment part of the day but will catch up when I get back.

Thanks!

You will wait for tomorrow - I will post a new thread that will be titled Disney Dining Swap Sign-ups. When sign-ups are over I will change the title to a progress thread and you will check in there each time.

I will be posting tomorrow in the morning to start sign-ups and if a group fills I will add another one so you should be able to get into the groups you want without a problem.

Rebecca

Heidi - I can be your sign-up buddy!! If you get back on here before the sign-ups open, pm me your choices!!

I have a question regarding the elements:

Can we combine? Like where there are two elements required, 2 mats = 1 element, 2 boxes = 1 element, 2 tags = 1 element...can we do 2 mats, 1 tag and 1 box?

When you are doing the places you choose you can but in the groups where you choose o1 element you can't- I hope that make sense- so yes in the numbered groups where you don't have to tell me your element and no in the lettered groups.

yep - makes perfect sense!! Those are the groups I was talking about! :thumbsup2 So I am in good shape! We are only declaring our restaurant there, right? (Not the elements we are making?)
