Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

So the husband and I decided to stay an extra couple days to enjoy more F&G, but AKL is all booked up for the weekend, sadly. The good news, however, is we're currently over in Tonga at the Poly. If anyone has questions about Tonga, let me know!

Wow! :jumping1:

Which room, the Honeymoon Suite? 1BR?

Not to be demanding, but we need pics! :thanks:

I totally agree on the affordability part. It's still up there, but not like the GF or Poly suites.

My night there last summer was a last minute add-on to a week long stay at Poly (we were having such a good trip we decided we didn't want to go home). I booked it that day and had what I considered a good AP discount. I too used it as a chance to try out BC and BC CL since I had never been there before (had never been to an Epcot resort actually).

Not to give anything away but (in my humble opinion) the BC CL lounge offerings blew me away from anything I had previously experienced at the MK resort CLs. The variety and amount of food was incredible. My hyperbole might be because I had been at Poly CL for a week and was worn down on their offerings, but in all seriousness, I thought it was very good. The only thing that comes close in my travels has been the new WL CL. I'll give it a couple of dings for location and ambiance (or lack thereof), but the food experience at the time was :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2.

Hope you have a great time!

I haven't stayed at any of the MK club levels but I agree the BC lounge is the nicest of the 3 Epcot resorts. The food offerings between BC & YC seemed to be the same but I think the BC lounge is a lot nicer.

I received a call from Signature Services at 61 days out. They left a very nice message with a phone number to call if I decided to use their services. We booked this trip ( early May), while there in November and while CL services were on "break". We were already within our 180 day window. We had not been contacted before this and thought maybe we were just lost in the shuffle because of the weird timing of everything. It was very nice to get the call in time for fast pass selection. 59 days and I will be back at GF...cannot wait! Time to look ahead to 2018...where to stay then?

So Tonga has been nice so far. We're in the Honeymoon Suite, which is on the bottom floor at the far right corner of the building. It has a patio area that overlooks the marina with a nice view of Space Mountain and the Contemporary. We can see fireworks too but it's not a perfect view from Tonga. I got plenty of photos of the room, lounge, etc, but I can't post them from my phone so I'll have to wait until I get home to share.

Overall things have been good here. We've been extremely impressed with the CMs in this building. Very helpful and friendly. The lounge here in Tonga isn't much — espresso maker, juices and sodas, beer, wine, light snacks, fruit. The big plus is that you have your own room service menu that you can order from for breakfast and snacks (until 10pm). Things like Tonga Toast, eggs and potatoes, sushi (full rolls, not individual pieces), salads, chicken wings, crab cakes, etc. All that is free and unlimited, delivered to your room. The CMs here said it's to make up for the fact the folks staying in this building otherwise have to walk over to Hawaii to get hot food. In our opinion, it blows the stuff over in Hawaii out of the water. It's pretty amazing.

We haven't made but 2 trips to Hawaii the entire time. The staff over there seem nice and friendly for the most part, but definitely busy. The lounge is also super busy. They don't have certain things we take for granted at other CLs, like sparkling wine for example. The food over there for breakfast looked pretty basic. We did try one of the chicken lettuce wraps during snack time yesterday and they were pretty good.

The views of the fireworks from the beach and Hawaii were... well, a disappointment, honestly. I've heard so much about how amazing the views are here that I was a bit shocked. The lounge view is decent I suppose, but crowded and the lights from the lounge reflect off the windows badly. Plus you're indoors and who wants to watch fireworks from indoors?! The beach was ok. No music, far away.. We realized the CR has spoiled us totally on fireworks views!!!

I'll write more later, but I think we both came to the same conclusion about the Poly, which is that we'd stay here again only if we were in Tonga. If the only option was Hawaii, it would never be worth the money. It's too hectic, and the atmosphere and service just don't compare to the other CLs we've stayed at. But we've enjoyed our visit here. We can check it off the list now that we've finally stayed here! :)

19 days!!! And I am glad @Ewoks posted the Honeymoon Room review. Although room service is an excellent perk, DH and I enjoy heading to F&G so much that an Epcot resort definitely would be preferred over the Tonga suite.

And I had that amazing BWI cottage booked...then changed to WL CL to save some dinero.......but availability opened and we will now be returning to YC CL in 19 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a lv (1st floor) room last summer. Really is nice on that side. I sat outside and could watch and hear great. It is hard to watch from the lounge but in winter months or with little ones it is a nice option.

Poly usually is somewhat busy. I like it at times it feels more fun. However akl was really relaxing. I can see why you liked that.

I finally figured out how to do my pix. I choose them on my iPhone then emailed them to myself, when it asked what size I chose small. Then I saved those from my email to my phone. I tried posting to the boards and it works. Hope that helps cause I want to see those pix!!!!

ohMom...We stayed at the Yacht Club CL earlier this week and loved the pillows. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a look at the label before leaving. Is it possible to find out what they are if you get a chance? It seemed like there were two types - firm and soft. Thanks!

So as far as ordering room service from a Tonga suite, is there an additional charge for that?

If we are staying Poly CL in Hawaii and have family in a Tonga suite, can we get a drink and snacks in their lounge when visiting them or do we need to bring our own over from Hawaii?

Oops, I missed this question! So Tonga is a secure access building like Hawaii is, meaning you have to scan your magic band to get in. Yours won't open the door at Tonga, whereas your family's magic bands will work at both Tonga AND Hawaii. The CMs won't get upset or anything if you visit so long as you're with your family staying in that building of course. I can't say 100% about y'all having drinks and snacks in Tonga with them, but tbh I highly doubt the CMs would care, especially since y'all are all staying CL anyway. Just ask when you go or have your family ask.

I will say that I doubt you'll want to grab snacks in Tonga though. There isn't much. You and your family would likely be better off going to Hawaii together and then heading back to Tonga afterward for drinks and visiting.

ETA: if y'all's drinks of choice are sodas or water, the fridges in the Tonga rooms are already stocked with those so you wouldn't even have to head to the lounge for them! They'd be right there in the suite already.

They only have cheese and fruit in the evening, basically. They do not have hot appetizers like Hawaii. So there is not much choice if you are going during evening happy hour. Also the alcoholic POG is available in limited quantities. They ran out one night and when I asked for more they said, 'sorry, we ran out'.

Will take pics of pillow labels

Also I did ask a club CM on construction update of room and all I could get out of her was "finishing up rooms" and then a glass of wine :teeth:

And asked and was given a nod that the large Dasani bottle was complimentary and that CM be happy to refill the bottle. We have been here three nights and got one replacement bottle so far. I put the bottle in the frig as experiment to see if housekeeping would leave another; they did not the first night but did the second night.

As far as actual room service from the main room service menu, yes. It's the same as every other room. From the special Tonga menu, there's no charge.

I was hoping that even with a more limited CL in Tonga, they could fill in with items from the special Tonga menu. With four kids under 6 in tow, it would be much easier to stay in their own building. Good to know that there are drinks in the Tonga suite refrigerators.

It's included :) but they give you the limited menu. I see your question was answered already, sorry to repeat what others have said. I agree with the kids that it's easier to have your family staying in Tonga to hang out in Hawaii

Hi all! Just got back from another great Poly CL stay. I wanted to share a few pics and thoughts on the trip. As with any Disney resort and Disney CL, there are always good things and bad things about the trip… mostly good, a couple of minor nit-picks…but a total reaffirmation of why I love Poly and Poly CL. Is it the nicest/cleanest CL? No. Does it have the best food? Nowhere close. Is it relaxing, convenient, and a cheaper alternative than flying to Hawaii? Heck yes! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I’m going to break these posts up a bit, sorry for hijacking the thread!

Thoughts…

Arrival
We arrived around 5:30PM. As has been the norm lately, no greeters, no one to escort us back, no leis, no bellman around to even ask to help with our bags (really Disney?). I had done online check-in and had received the room ready text, so just walked back to Hawaii myself with our bags.

Of course, just like this past July, when we get to Hawaii the CL CM who checked us in was like “why didn’t anyone escort you back here?”:confused3

The CL check-in was quick/efficient. We were offered drinks. I had a bit of a reservation snafu (not Disney’s fault) so it took a while to work through. :rolleyes1

I recommend folks still stop and check-in with the CL CMs even if they have done online check-in. They’ll give you paperwork, go over the lounge, etc. Kids get a sand bucket and a Maui mask to color (the Maui mask was new, to me at least). :artist:

Room
I had a Lagoon View room this time. I’ve done TPV and GV in the past but never LV and had never been on the first floor. I was in room 1501 which is the very first room right by the elevator, on the other side of the wall from the first floor CL CM desks.

I would argue there aren’t really any bad rooms in any view category in the Hawaii building, except maybe this one! It’s just a bit noisy being so close to the entrance. BUT (and this is a big BUT), it was SOOOO convenient to be just steps from the entrance, steps from the stairs or elevator to the lounge. This made up for it being less than ideal noise wise.

We did a lot of resort/pool time given the great weather on this trip and spent a lot of time in the lounge. I have to admit I may be a LV convert given how convenient the first floor was to our daily comings/goings.

Enough chit chat…we need pics!

Here's the room view. If you stood towards the left of the patio you could see the castle. I'm not a Bungalow-hater but I do think they shouldn't have built that far left one right there. Just cuts off this whole section of the beach from being useful for Wishes or the Electrical Pageant.

From the patio looking right. I did really enjoy being able to walk right out to the sand, and so did my son!

For those not familiar with the Hawaii building, the CL CM's sit on the first floor there on the far right side of the building, the lounge is the second and third floor with those big windows. My room was the first room on the ground floor to the left of the CL CMs.

Very close to having duck visitors one afternoon... the sand footprints are from my son, not the duck.

Something new... a large Dasani water bottle in the room. This is similar to what I had at CR Atrium in September. Was given two bottles the next day, one another day, and none the day after that (coincidentally the day I forgot to leave a tip). I'm sure no relation....

These glasses also seemed new/different to me, but I might just not be remembering properly.

Also something new, upgraded toiletries. This again was the same I had at CR Atrium in the fall. Nice to see it in other resorts. Not sure if this is Poly-wide or just CL rooms??

The new larger chocolates. Just one per bed though. They used to leave gobs of the old, smaller ones in my experience.

Thanks so much for such a great review!!! I'm hoping you can help answer my question. We too have booked a CL LV room and now I'm wondering if the LV rooms are all located on the main floor. Also can you please tell me where the theme park view rooms are in relation to the LV rooms. Thanks again so much for all your great info!!!
