Kevin, Please add Dave and me to your Paris dining schedule. I am planning on revisiting some of my favorites in London on Day 2. If you would like to go as a group that would be awesome. I was leaning toward Rules but any of these would work. Here is my short list.
Rules restaurant is a the oldest restaurant in London. It is quintessentially British. Classic British food in a very, very old school setting although it is pretty stuffy, think dining at Downton Abby, we liked it. https://rules.co.uk/ Here is a showreel that gives some history.
. Who doesn't love a restaurant that King's would take their mistresses and the menu warns about buckshot in the meat? Ralph Fiennes shot a scene here from the Bond Movie "Spectre". This is our must do each trip.
My DD's preferred Roast in Burrows Market. It is a modern restaurant http://www.roast-restaurant.com/ with a menu more like they are used to and a bright, white and airy place with a ton of windows on the second floor overlooking the market.
Dave’s favorite is Hawksmoor, the Seven Dials location. It is one of the best steak restaurants in the world and one of Dave’s all-time favorite restaurants. https://thehawksmoor.com/ In fact we are very excited Hawksmoor is coming to NYC maybe sometime this year.
Another classic I had to have was prime rib on a trolley available at Stimpson-in-the-Strand. Again, this is pretty upscale and formal but I wouldn’t have felt good about missing prime Scottish beef with Yorkshire pudding and roasted potatoes. Best place for that is https://www.simpsonsinthestrand.co.uk/
