DVC Resale Market seller experiences

We are looking at selling our DVC and was wondering if anyone has any experience with selling through DVC Resale Market?
Anything I should look out for or any suggestions? Thanks so much.

I’ve sold with them. Had a good experience. Just don’t like how they use Magic Vacation Title. It took a while to receive closing documents and then final payment. But maybe that’s improved since they acquired them.

You are able to request whichever title company you want!

In Florida if you pay for the closing you get to pick - I am going to just add the cost and do a seller pays closing listing.

Thanks to all who replied. As sellers, were there any surprise costs involved? Can you let me know what costs were involved besides the obvious percentage DVC RM takes? Thanks so much again. So weird to be talking about selling.

We sold a contract through them in 2021, it was honestly so easy that I am struggling to remember any part of the process. I remember having them post my points, remember recieving an offer and then splitting the difference. The only "hidden" cost was we elected to use a local notary two blocks from our place that charges a modest fee (like $25) but is open on the weekends. I am sure my bank would have the service for cheaper, but we like this guy and always use him. We did use Magic Vacation title because the buyer went with their recommendation, but I don't remember any negative experience there.

No surprise costs with us other than Magic Vacation charging us $50 to communicate with our FIRPTA specialist because we were international sellers. But you shouldn't have to worry about that. All other charges were pretty standard and fully disclosed to us.

Are you paying the closing costs as the seller? If so, i believe you can choose.

If the buyer is paying, then they are the ones who can choose a different one.

Same to this. I had to follow up with *** multiple times on buying and selling. Jeffrey Sweet was best closing company I ever used, but that was years ago.

Scotty’s the best! Worked with him to get our Grand Flo contract this spring.

If you make a profit, it's considered a capital gain. If it's a loss, it's not deductible. If you owned it more than one year, it's a long-term gain and subject to more favorable capital gains tax. You should get a 1099 at the end of the year from your broker.
