Hilton Head - Closest City/Airport?

I am in the VERY early stages of considering a HHI vacation in the future and was wondering if someone could advise where we would fly into if we were going there?

Savannah, Georgia is the closest city that has a good sized airport. It is about a 45 minute drive away. If you fly, I highly advise renting a car.

Yes, Savannah's the closest and I find it very convenient to get in and out of. However, if you need others to comparison shop, Charleston's a couple hours away and Jacksonville's about three hours away.
