Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Hi everyone! :goodvibes

I just updated the blog with a review of our cheese tasting from last Saturday - there are even a couple of pictures this time!

I am planning on getting a review of the Melting Pot posted but not as soon as I thought. Between being under the weather this week and having our sump pump blow out Wednesday during a three-inch rainfall, there's a lot for us to do around the homestead this weekend.

I'm sure within the week it will be there for you to all take a gander at ... until then thanks for reading and have a good weekend! :goodvibes

I hear Planky has a friend who is a sponge.. Maybe he can come and fill in until your sump is fixed... ;)

Watch out.. if you don't make him go out and sqeeze... you and Jay (and Pete and Planky) could be running out of the house yelling "Thar She Blows!!!" or rather... HE...

:rotfl:

Sorry to hear that you've been under the weather (I would insert the sick guy emoticon but he always looks more like a scottish guy with a ciggie to me.)

I've been horse as well.... all the partying, I think!

Have to tell you about a simple classic that I enjoyed and, of course, thought of you... Amaretto, Vanilla Ice cream (though I'm not sure if that would work for you or not!), and chocolate syrup mixed up into a shake form. IT was reallly good. :woohoo:

I was out of Amarillo.... that would have been nice!

Melissa

P.S. I'm going to try and make it to this class thanks to your tips: I LOVE PAD THAI!

WHOLE FOODS
Monday, August 25th
Eat, Learn, Live - Pad Thai, My Way
12:00-1:00 p.m. $12
With Chef Gayle Jolley
Make a surprisingly simple restaurant favorite at home with this intensive lesson. Save time by purchasing peeled and deveined shrimp, and head to the ethnic foods section of Whole Foods to find all the necessary pantry staples.
On the Menu:
Pad Thai-the famous street vendor rice noodle dish with shrimp, tofu,
peanuts, egg, bean sprouts, lemon grass and cilantro

I'm sick too! Summer colds bite.

Hope you're better soon, and that Mr. Sump Pump gets his act together.

Even after I said we wouldn't buy any of this, when I saw it at the grocery store how could I pass it up? Cost to purchase: $25.

Jay and I opened it last night. It's very sweet at first - we decided to add some ice to each glass and that cut the sweetness and helped smooth the drink out because it does have a bit of a bite at the finish.

This is the perfect girly-get-together drink, in my humble opinion. I think it would be a delight at a bridal shower ... too bad everyone I know is already married. :rotfl:

Anyway, enjoy the pink picture and how cute it looks in the Mickey glass!

Looks great! I think we need to plan a girly-girl get together to enjoy it.;)

Love the pink drink!

Sorry about your cold! You could try my old Pop's remedy. One shot of Rock and Rye (nasty stuff) every hour on the hour until you feel better or don't care!:thumbsup2

I'm back again and I guess I'm on a roll!

I just posted the Melting Pot review so come visit us when you have time. :goodvibes

And just to keep you fine food lovers informed ... this will be the last update for a few weeks. Jay's weekend anniversary trip to Boca Raton is in two weeks so I may have something to write about once we get home from that trip, but otherwise I'm trying to eat less and exercise more right now so don't look for any food porn for me for a few weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well and thanks again to all of you for taking the time to read my dribble! :grouphug:

"Hi... My Name is Brenda and I'm addicted to food porn..."

Hi Bendy!!!!

(so are we!!! :rotfl: )

Hi Brenda, Loved your review of the fondue restaurant! Thanks for sharing and hope that you're feeling better.:)

Thanks for the melting pot review :goodvibes

I think I will stick with the basic cooking broth based on your experience - if I ever get to go there.

My friend said that the dessert plate was magnificent.

Also, did you know they have a happy hour????? Ahhh yeaaaa.... (brown chicken brown cow!)

Right there with ya....can you believe you can't have beer on South Beach Diet?????

But you can have wine ;) .

This better be worth it and I better look good this year in those Photopass pics, by golly!!

Hi again! I'm multi-tasking since the Big O are on all night ...

this most recent update is about the weekend trip we get to take next Friday-Sunday courtesy of Jay's company ... it's the anniversary trip for employees who've been with them for at least 10 years.

Come read about the things we get to do ... wheeeeeee!!!! :cool1:

thanks again for reading and for all your kind comments!! :grouphug:

Maybe cut it with some vodka or gin??? Am I giving myself away again? I've been off the boards for a bit but had to visit you as soon as I got back...now I gotta get all caught up. I was doing fine until the pink stuff stopped me dead in my tracks. Kinda looks like a good brekkie beverage :lmao:
