Wow, that doesn't give you much time. Here is my list based on a 1 day, 2 night stay on the strip:
Note: We try to keep our trips economical, so I don't have any of the expensive restaurants listed.
Hotel (to stay in) ... Bally's if you are short on funds; MGM, Bellagio or Ceasar's if you have $$
Hotel (to visit) ... Bellagio ... it has the fountains in front, the glass artwork on the lobby ceiling, the conservatory, and (I think) good selection of games/machines with decent drink service ... centrally located and has a free monorail in the back that connects you to City Center and Monte Carlo
Breakfast ... Definitely Ellis Island Steak and Eggs breakfast special!
Lunch ... No preference, but like to use the 2-for-1 coupons for Nathan's Hot Dogs (they also have sandwiches)
Dinner ... Again, no preference; although we liked El Diablo in front of Monte Carlo and Margaritaville across from Ceasar's
Buffet ... My favorite is way south on the strip (i.e. several miles) so would need a car ... The M Resort / on the strip, any that I've gone to have just been "okay"
Show ... Go to one of the Cirque shows if you've never been; however, LOVED Human Nature at Imperial Palace ... should be able to get in for $50 each ... very high-energy show, more of a traditional LV show in a traditional LV showroom
Free show ... Bellagio water fountains or Big Elvis at Bill's Gambling Hall
Slots ... don't play slots, but try to find the BJ machines ... good ones at the MGM/Mirage properties - We've not had any luck in finding good BJ machines at the Ceasars/Harrahs properties [Note: check the rules on the BJ machines before you sit down; some are crappy rules and others have the "good ones" that allow you to double-down and split]
