"I'm on 'Top of the World'"

So here is my question.

We are proud owners of BLT, however on this visit we will be staying at the Poly. But I REALLY want to visit the 'Top of the World" lounge during the fireworks show and maybe enjoy an adult beverage (or two, if the budget allows). Since we are not staying on property (but we are owners) will they let us visit the lounge?

If you have been there, what did you think of the place?

I guess these are two seperate questions.

We were there 2 weeks ago. We had a nightcap at TOTWL each night of our trip. The lounge is actualy alot smaller than I expected. The most people that I saw in there at one time was 12 and that was Superbowl Sunday. When the fireworks start most people including us went outside the lounge for an open air viewing. BLT played the soundtrack to the show. it was a great view. As for getting in if you are staying at the Poly. It all depends on who is at the security desk. They do check room keys. If you tell them that you are BLT owners they may let you in. After you show your room key. they escort you to a private elevator and set it for the 16th floor. I hope you get in.

Unfortunately, current policy says that only DVC members staying at BLT on points or cash booked through MS are allowed up to the lounge.

So, I don't think you will be allowed in. However, there is nothing to stop you from going and asking, as I have read some reports that people were able to find a way up.

Top of the World Lounge is not a perk of owning at BLT, it's a perk of staying at BLT on points. So if you are not staying there on points, you won't be visiting the lounge. Kind of like swimming at Stormalong Bay. It's not a perk of owning points at BCV, it's a perk of staying on points at BCV.

Go ask... If they are not busy they have nothing to loose by letting you go up, especially if you want to grab a few drinks. Although, i have always felt the Poly beach to be the best location to watch Wishes and the water parade.

I'd say the answer is the same one to the question of owning at BCV and wanting to swim at SAB when staying elsewhere on points. You shouldn't be able to but it will be up to which CM's are on duty that day.
