Kidani Bus Question

We plan to try to do rope drop to animal kingdom and Hollywood studios. Are there any tips about the buses? Say we wanted to get to HS by 8:20 AM, what time would we need to leave our room at Kidani in order to catch a bus that would get us there on time?

If you want to get to HS by 8:20 (meaning including walking time from bus to HS gate), you should likely get to the bus stop by 7:30. You could probably cut it closer but 7:30 would be safe. Total bus trip once on the bus, with stop at Jambo, is about 25 minutes from Kidani to Epcot, HS or MK. You can wait cut it closer for AK because that is only a 10 minute bus trip, but the walk from park bus stop to gate is longer than the other parks.

We generally plan about 45 minutes - one hour for getting to the bus, waiting, then getting through the gates at all parks (except AK). About 30 minutes for AK. Sometimes we end up being really early if we have little to no bus wait, but sometimes we end up right on time if we have a long bus wait.

Do yourself a favour.

Call ahead and ask for a room close to the lobby. If you are at the end of a hallway it could take you another 10-15 minutes just getting to the bus.

We never used the buses, and in fact drove to the lobby some days.

Wonderful resort though, lots of animals, great rooms, friendly helpful staff. No complaints about the room. Beds were comfortable. My nephew is young but he slept in the sleeper chair. We had a 2 bedroom and loved the 3 bathrooms.
