Las Vegas hotels

Thanks for the suggestions .

We stayed at Caesar's Augustus Tower on our last trip.
We have a 4 night stay at any CET property so as far as the room, cost isn't an issue.

I thought Caesar's was a good location and the room was nice but wasn't a fan of the casino. It seemed blah to me .
We were a bit intimidated by the pool since went to look but didn't swim. I had read that some pools there charge for chairs and towels and didn't want a huge bill when we went to check out

We are thinking about Paris, Cromwell or Planet Hollywood for this trip.

Golden Nugget.....the Shark Pool was awesome but the location was perfect!!!! Fremont Street at night was fantastic but in the morning it was perfect, too. So close to many other neat casinos! :thumbsup2

I liked it there a lot too. The best restaurants, clubs and casinos are on the strip, but Fremont Street has a much more laid back, fun vibe.

Out of those updated room at Paris. they have the Budweiser Park on the roof. Flamingo does have new updated rooms. Like like that area of the strip. We stayed at Flamingo & Aria last Trip. Best meal Mon Ami Gabi breakfast. I don't know your age but I feel a little old for Planet Hollywood.

I'm a night owl who travels for work and has for more than 15 years, you'll see this everywhere...including WDW. It most certainly happens in the nicest hotels.

That's what I was going to say. World's Oldest Profession everywhere, especially in the high end hotels.

I was talking to a vegas bartender once. He said as long as they dress nice, they do not bring attention and if they play the slots, they will not hassle them. I thought the part about the slots was pretty funny. I would say there are a lot more in the top hotels

Yes, they bring a ton of business to the casinos and hotels.

Be sure to look into the 24 hour buffet pass, gets you into a bunch of buffets on the strip. So worth the money since you can stop in to the buffet for snacks, beverages, plus if you buy in the evening, you get that night's dinner plus three solid meals the next day, plus any snacks.

Also check groupon for deals on shows. Much better prices than they offer you in the hotel lobby. We saw Ka (amazing Cirque show), an illusionist, and an Elvis impersonato, all on groupon passes.

What is your favorite CET (Caesar's Entertainment) hotel?
What do you like about it?
What don't you like about it?

I think I'm going to have to go with Caesar's Palace.
The best way to pick a tower is to look at the starting price of standard rooms. Avoid the bottom two. You have to go through the casino to get to them, there is either a crummy view or none at all and they're the oldest two buildings there It's also a hike to the strip. even though they are refurbished. The augustus tower is probably best. The upper rooms on the Bellagio side have a side view of the fountains. It's also closest to the strip. But it's furthest away from the shopping. It's also closest to the spa. Even the base rooms in that tower are good sized. If money is no object, I'd have to say the bacchinal is the best buffet in Vegas next to the Sunday only Sterling lobster brunch buffet at Bally's. But you'll pay for it. It's expensive. And for that reason it is not my best value buffet. It was $60 for weekend dinner last I remember. $40 for a weekday lunch. It is more expensive than that now. It's rather tough to get your money's worth here unless you flat out skip things that are rather plain and get a lot of seafood. Also, there is a two hour time limit. And there are usually lines.

This is not me, but it's recent.

There are several passes. the Ceasar's one gets you the buffet at Caesar's palace, Rio, Planet Hollywood, Harrah's and Paris. Go for your first night's dinner at 7, then dinner the next day before 7 and you'll get 4 squares out of it. Or if you just want to pop in for something any time, you can!!!

But some things. 1. The bacchinal is an upcharge. I think it's $25 breakfast and lunch and $35 dinner. The seafood section at Rio is also an upcharge. $25 any time. BTW the regular buffet at Rio is not completely devoid of seafood. It's just there is a lot of better stuff in the seafood section. I think the upgrade gets you one lobster tail plus all you want of anything else in the section.
2. You have to wait in line every time. And VIP passes only work for where you got them and only work once.
3. If you're not to the register in time, you're out of luck. If you've been in line an hour and ten minutes and you're at the register at the 24:01 mark, it's a no go.
4. A couple of places on the list probably aren't quite up to par with the other three.

The Buffet of Buffets is the one I'm talking about. https://www.caesars.com/las-vegas/buffet-of-buffets/faq

We stayed at MGM a few years ago when DH had a convention there. We had a large room with 2 queens, a sofa sleeper and a really nice bathroom. While DH was busy, I took our boys around to the various casinos and attractions. We really enjoyed using the Monorail (one kid is a train nut), and we liked that MGM has it's own Monorail station. It was easy to hop on the train and get to the end of the strip or anywhere in between.

Several years ago, I stayed at Caesar's with my sister. She was there for work and her company paid for the room through the weekend, even though her business was finished on Friday. The room and bathroom were amazing. The only thing we didn't like was the time it took to get up to the room. We had to find a very specific bank of elevators, go up 19 floors, then walk down several very long hallways to finally get to our room. Each time we left, we checked and double-checked that we had everything we needed because it wasn't possible to just pop up to the room for a forgotten item!

DH and I are self-professed Buffet connoisseurs and I have to say we’ve been to Bacchanal twice, as recently as December, and were underwhelmed. We prefer Wynn. Wicked Spoon at Cosmo is good too. Bellagio is decent but “meh” lol.

My biggest beef with the Bacchinal is the price. It's almost too much variety (and hence cost) that you're just not going to get the value out of it unless you ignore substantial portions of it. And for that price I want to be wowed far beyond other buffets. The other thing about Bacchinal is if you're not a carnivore, that buffet isn't for you. The salad bar can't even measure up to Golden corral. That's not hyperbole folks. They do have quite a few prepared salads though. But those were all scattered around. Honestly they should just cut the salad out and go with another 3 or 4 prepared ones for you and move em all there. All of them were pretty good. The vegetables were above average but really not to die for or anything. They did however, have well marked Vegan and Gluten Free sections. I have liked the Wicked Spoon in the past because they had a lot of different and unusual things. Back then it was a love it hate it thing. Do not do lunch here those of you reading. Terrible value at lunch. Worst in town imo. Dinner is what you want here. But it is going up there in price too. And my friends went and reported that a lot of the unusual things are gone and it has gotten quite a bit more plain. I haven't been in awhile.

They definitely were not dressed nice. One girl had to be over 6 months pregnant. The punk kid was sort of mad that I was on the elevator. I got on first, and he made a snide remark about me and gave me a snarly look. He knew that I knew.
