***Official January 2023 Thread***

Please add me to the list of trips! Just settled on January 14 - 21, 2023 😃 Planning on renting DVC points for Boardwalk Villas.

I just got back from a girls' trip over the last weekend with my childhood best friend. I was also using the trip to do recon for my next family trip. Husband says he would much rather deal with possible cold temps than hot temps like our previous trips. Anyone have advice for MLK week? I know it is not a great time to go in January, but it will allow us to only pull our daughter from school for 4 days.
Yay, our first trip has been added to the Roll Call! I know it's still early, so if anything changes, just let me know.

I think that will be a good time to go. The Festival of the Arts should be available, and Tuesday through Friday should see a reduction in crowds (at least from locals). Usually work and school schedules dictate our vacations, so sometimes you just have to go when you can. As long as you manage expectations, you'll have a great time!

We're booked! Dec. 30th - Jan 7th at POFQ. We'll be there for the start of marathon weekend, so we're planning on doing the 5k & 10k. It'll be my first 10k! Excited to start training for that after we get back from our DCL cruise & weekend at DL in Feb.

Woohoo, you've been added! Enjoy your other trips and best wishes for your races!

Countdown time! :hourglass

It's February, which means anyone leaving next January is now--

Less than 1 year away from Disney!! :yay:

Happy Valentine's Day! 🥰

Last year, bookings for 2022 vacation packages opened the day after Valentine's Day. However, President's Day was early last year, so it was also the day after President's Day.

If Disney follows the same pattern, 2023 vacation packages could open as early as tomorrow (after Valentine's Day) or next Tuesday (after President's Day). If not, then it's anybody's guess! In 2020, vacation packages for 2021 opened June 24th. Let's hope we don't have to wait that long!

Happy planning!

Alright, so in advance of packages opening up and prices potentially increasing, we went ahead and booked!

We're still trying to work out specifics, but for now, we grabbed 12/31 to 1/5. Now I can add myself to the list! :cool1:

ETA: We also made our park reservations! Yay!

I'm going on 8 days waiting to hear back about our request to rent via dvc rental store for the same resort.
I tried 3 times with David's DVC to rent at Boardwalk (very specific room type) and they all failed, so I stalked DisBoards rentals for another option. The most important thing was to be in the Epcot area (and it doesn't hurt that we'll have access to Stormalong Bay. If the weather is warm enough. XD)

I didn't like that there wasn't any cancellation policy with David's so I went with DVC rental store - hope they come through.

I haven't been to Disney since 2000 (when my girls were 11 and 12)! I am now planning to go with my youngest daughter in January, along with my 2 grandsons (10 and 8). We are planning on booking All Star Sports from January 22 through January 26. We will enjoy and explore the resort(s) on the first day (1/22); and then on 1/23 (a Monday) we plan to do the Wizarding World of HP at Universal. Then, on 1/24 we're gonna do HS, and then 2 days (1/25 and 1/26) are reserved for MK.
After our land vacation, we are cruising on Disney's new ship, Wish, from January 27 through January 30.
Our travel agent has already booked the cruise for us. She will book everything else, on the land side, when it all opens up.
So excited! :D

Seriously, with all the price increases!
Just got booked with rented points for the Beach Club - January 2023 is official!!!! Aggggghhhh!!!!!

We've been heading to Disney either MLK weekend or President's Day weekend for the last 7 years. My son has 1 more year of middle school, so thinking we will do one more long weekend trip before high school. Gotta use those school breaks!! He is actually off school on Friday, Jan 13 - Monday, Jan 16. We will fly out after school on the 12th. The 12th is the last day of the grading period, so I can't pull him out of school that day, which is what we have done the last 4 years. Having to wait until after school really sucks, because that is a low park attendance day we get a lot done before the crowds arrive.

I considered President's Day weekend 2023, but the quad-fecta is happening: President's Day, weekend before Mardi-Gras, Cheer Competition AND that is the weekend leading into East Coast winter break. I made this mistake once, I won't do it again. We are going in January!!!

I was really wanting to avoid calling to get a room only reservation, but I am growing tired of stalking the website every morning to see if I can book online.
