forgive me for my ignorance, but I thought GTY was something they assigned at the port when you arrived? I just downgraded my 10A reservation to an 11B GTY to save $504. I was figured I'd get my room assignment at the port.

They can assign a GTY at any point up until you check in at the port. Most people seem to get assigned by 60 days out, but I've seen people on here getting assignments HUNDREDS of days out. Lucky dogs !

We booked 9c GTY a few months ago and just got our assignment 7002 which is 9c

We are at 274 days.

I always do GTY and have never been assigned a room this far out. The other two parties in our group are GTY and are still waiting.

Do you book your own cruises or use a TA? I was wondering if that makes a difference in how quickly your room is assigned. Thanks.

I truly hate to be ignorant but I've gone through a number of pages and am still confused. I got my room number the day I booked the cruise, last October. Why aren't people getting them when they book? I hope my question is deterring from the OP.

You must not have booked a GTY but an actual cabin.
