Our First Live Trip Report

Hi Kitton
We were at Animal Kingdom yesterday too:goodvibes Glad you enjoyed it, we thought it was a great park for all the family. Where are you going today?

Hi Beth,

Thank you - my camera is a Canon EOS 400D.

Yes we saw Lion King, Nemo and Flights of Wonder. DD11 said Flights of Wonder was her favourite of the day.

yes, we love flights of wonder too!!!! we never miss it...
it's just such a different park from the other three...

the same thing happens to me every time i visit AK....the moment i step through the turnstile i start to smile...it just makes me happy....the landscaping takes my breath away!!!

Hello Again,

We went to MK today. Very hot and sticky and as I write this we are in the middle of a thunderstorm - hopefully it might clear the air.

Lovely day again - arrived at MK in time for the opening ceremony. We are the type of people that like to get there early and do most of the rides and secure fast passes before the park gets busy. Then we can relax and take photos in the afternoon. This worked for us again today. We rode Thunder twice, Splash (but not the 11 year old - still working up the courage), Peter Pan, W the Pooh, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Mickeys Philhar Magic (I love this - my favourite in MK, it's such a 'feel good' show), Buzz x 2, Indy Speedway, Small World and finished it off with the parade and ice cream (see picture). Fantasyland was very busy by midday but the wait times weren't excessive. The new Fantasyland is well underway - see picture. The worse wait time today was 75 mins for Splash. Our Fastpass system works well as we used Fastpasses for everything that we could - so no queuing for us with the exception of Indy Speedway & W the Pooh but only 10 minutes or so. It's Memorial Day weekend so perhaps it's the calm before the storm!

Tonight we were going to Millers Ale House on 192 but we couldn't find it :confused3. I checked the website before we left, but didn't help, we are so rubbish at finds things like that! Try again another evening.

Once again just a few photos - they're not that great. Very sleepy now.....

Epcot tomorrow we think?

Hi just caught up with your TR:thumbsup2

Really pleased to hear your having a great time:banana:

Would love to hear more about what you thought of the estate your staying on as just in the process of booking a villa for our christmas trip and that is one of the estates I was going to look at???:confused3

Looking forward to hearing more about your trip:surfweb:

A great start to your live trippie.

You seem to have got so much done already. Lovely photos, looking forward to reading more :) :) :)

Enjoying your report :)

The Ale House is not far from Windsor Hills (we were there at Christmas) - you need to follow the 192 West - past SR545 (turning for WH) - the Ale House is on the right opposite the Super Target - there is also an Olive Garden there. We enjoyed that too :thumbsup2

There is also an Applebee's, Bahama Breeze and Sweet Tomatoes in that little spot now - with the introduction of the Target store there last year it's become quite a bustling little community. Oh...the Long Horn steakhouse is pretty nice too!

Hello Hello

Thank you so much for your responses. This is just a quick update before we go out to eat. We've been to Epcot today - it was hot hot hot!!! I will post a better update later. Thank you for telling me where to find Ale House, Longhorn and Sweet Tomatoes - these are all on our list. We're going to Outback tonight - I know where that is, so shouldn't have a problem with that one! BTW the ice creams are from the Ice Cream shop in Fantasyland, next to Winnie the Pooh. We are having an amazing time, as we always do here! Time for a cool down in the pool :goodvibes

More photos to follow later.....

Ooooo a live trippie...and I've missed it so far - how rude of me!

Just caught up now, you've been busy haven't you!? Looks like you're having lots of fun so far!

Has the weather calmed any for you all? I'm guessing not, as it's always usually like this through May and into June. But I'm sure you'll all be fine and keep plodding along :goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing more and I hope you find the Ale House :thumbsup2

I'm back!

Just back from a nice evening at Outback. Before I recap on the day I should reply to a couple of queries.

PJB71 - Windsor Hills is very nice. All the properties look lovely. We haven't experienced the club house yet as we're only 3 days in. A plus point for me is the proximity to the parks and some good eating places nearby on the 192. I'll let you know once we experience clubhouse, pool etc.

A question for the guys who pointed me in the direction of Ale House, Sweet Tomotoes etc. I think I should turn right at the top Old Lake Wilson and head towards the I4 or should I go in the opposite direction? Let me know if you can?

So what did we do today? Epcot and as I said it was hot hot hot!! The storm passed overnight and we woke to a gorgeous blue sky. Once again we arrive for rope drop. JoJo 66 mentioned that 'you've done so much already'. We always take advantage of the girls waking early in the first week. So we get to the parks first thing and gather fast passes and do all the rides before it gets really busy. We can then take it easy when the heat gets uncomfortable. As the days go by the girls will wake later but it's OK because we can arrive at the parks later and take our time a bit more. It works for us.

Favourite rides today were Soarin and Test Track as voted by the girls. The 7 year old laughed hysterically throughout Test Track! We rode both of these twice (using Fastpasses - no queuing for us!).

The worst ride today was Captain EO - one word = dreadful! Sorry if there are any fans out there!

I enjoyed watching Minnie Mouse at the Character Greeting Spot today. The rest of the family has toddled of somewhere, so I was just gazing through the window.... I could have watched for hours as she welcomed a different family, little girl etc - the way she interacts with each family is amazing - relentlessly, one after another! The queue was huge to join so I promised Isabella we would meet the characters next time (that's the sort of thing we save for later in the trip).

My girls were very pleased with themselves today as they spotted 2 Hidden Mickeys - that's become a recent thing for us.

I also enjoyed the Nemo ride - I couldn't help but sing along..... 'In a deep blue world.......in a deep bluuee world'!

As i said we had a lovely meal at Outback this evening and lots of fun too!

Tomorrow Hollywood Studios. The girls are very excited about the new Star Tours ride and Toy Story Mania.

Some photos from today.

I never see Daisy in the parks so I was quite excited when I saw her on the way in. I didn't want to queue for a picture so stood from a distance. She saw me and inbetween greets she posed! Cute!

Tonight at Outback. Both girls kept stealing DH's croutons from his salad whilst I was taking pictures. He never noticed until this one...

...and then everyone laughed! What great memories....

A couple of pictures of the food this evening. Sirlion Steak and Grilled Chicken.

Good Night. xxx

Hiya, glad you're having such a wonderful time and getting so much done. After nearly two weeks here now we're definitely in the taking it easy stage by now. Today we just chilled out for a while and when we hit the parks it was mostly to watch the world go by.

Did you go to the Outback on the 192 by Formosa Gardens? If so, just carry on along the 192 for a few more sets of lights and you can't miss the Ale House. It's on the right, just before you get to Publix. Sweet Tomatoes, Olive Garden, Longhorn are on the left, by Target. So...just to be clear, take a left at the top of Old Lake Wilson, and head west on the 192, away from the I4.

We're off on the Disney Dream for 5 nights tomorrow, but back on Friday for a couple of days, so might run into you around the parks then.
