PTR - Disneyworld, The Dream, Disneyland and some Las Vegas Glitter

I'm nowhere near that organised and I'm already planning the next one :thumbsup2

How is it that your suitcases are ready to go already? I don't have anywhere near enough clothes to be packed for a 4 week trip AND have enough clothes left to wear until then :rotfl: I do have a travel toiletry bag though that has a duplicate of everything, so I don't have to the last minute pack your comb and toothbrush thing.

I got a lot of summer clothes for our trip when it was season clearance and as its way to cold to wear them they got packed straight away and as I add things to the suitcase they get ticked off the list (I have lists for everything) I only have underwear for 7 days and about 5 different outfits that can be mixed and matched to make it seem like more. I know we will be buying more clothes while we are over there, especially the girls so dont think we need to take more than that.

Oh, that makes sense then. I've started packing some of my summer stuff too, but I still need my undies :rolleyes1

Been busy the last few days booking flights, accommodation and shows. I cannot believe it is now only 4 weeks to go :cheer2:

Yay, 4 weeks is so close!

Did you notice that a recent Trip Advisor poll voted Discovery Cove the best theme park in the world. I will be interested to hear how you enjoy it.

Ahahaha, that is so me. I barely have enough clothes to get through the week, let alone the next month.
I would much prefer to spend money on holidays than clothes, so my wardrobe is a bit of an embarrassment.

This. Exactly ::yes::

I've needed a new pair of jeans for a long time (because I currently only have one pair and they're now too big for me). On Thursday I finally got around to going to the op shop. I couldn't decide which pair I liked best so I bought both, which I would normally consider to be excessive, but managed to justify it since they were only $4 each :rotfl:

I was in desperate need for new undies and usually the kids get the mandatory undies and socks at christmas time but this year I did it for the holiday, rather embarrassing that we are all excited with new underwear:rotfl2:

I am really excited about this, yesterday I went to book the tickets and stopped myself, it is really going to bust the bank and give me no spending money (the kids already have their own spending money which they have saved over the last year - they will have more than me:sad2:) I guess as long as I have money for food then thats all thats important. It will be worth it, I think.........

Bargain! I dont usually spend money on clothes, have the same year in year out, with maybe one or two exceptions when there is a sale, would rather put the money into travel. Last christmas when the kids bought me things for christmas it was something for the holiday, a new top or new items for toiletry bag, things like that, and they got similar things. Boring as far as presents go but the kids new that it was for the greater good. The girls didnt like that they had new summer clothes that they could not wear until our holiday.

2009 ,we drove to Williams from Anaheim and stayed there 3 nights, loved it. Was a quaint little town, we did the Grand Canyon Railway, kids loved it, they put a show on before you board the train, the" goodies & baddies", then on the way back to Williams in the afternoon, the "baddies" ride along side the train, shooting their guns & they board the train to rob it, it was a lot of fun . I think we had about 5 hours at the Canyon which was long enough for me, as I had no plans of going down into it, my kids were a bit younger then.
We really enjoyed the trip.
We drove into Flagstaff, nothing special.
From Williams we drove to Vegas.

Thought I had it all planned and nothing really left to do ..........when we decide to add a day at Kennedy Space Centre after our cruise. Found a shuttle service who will pick us up from the port, take us to the space centre, hold our luggage and then collect us when we have finished and take us to WDW - Boardwalk. For the six of us it will cost $225 cash or $245 credit. Has anyone been the the Space centre, is it worth the effort to go. Also do you think that is a a good shuttle price. The company is Space Port Transport - anyone have any feedback on them?

I haven't been to the Space Center or used that company but it appears to be a little cheaper than Ace Luxury Transfers, which I have used and found to be excellent. Every person I know who's been to the Space Center raves about it, so I don't think you can go wrong with a trip there.

We did KSC, I was the one that wanted to see, kids were not too keen.
But have to say it was fantastic, kids even loved it.
To see the Atlantis space shuttle was amazing.
We all enjoyed the day, after Kennedy we went on a air boat tour, which we all agreed was one of the highlights of the trip.
Cant comment about the shuttle as ours was booked with Grayline from WDW.

I would say go for it, shame to miss seeing KSC

We leave next week and I thought I would be more excited, not sure how I feel, I must be in denial as I dont even feel like I am going on this holiday. It is sort of a depressing thought that I am not more excited. It is very hard to explain. It is like I have am going through the post holiday blues now. I am definitely feeling the pressure of money while away as well as everyone enjoying themselves etc, maybe that is what is keeping me from getting excited. Oh well, I am sure as this week gets closer to next that it will all change.

Have had to make some more changes to dates of excursions which means that there is one less day at Disney, which I am not happy about but then again we will have over 2 weeks there so shouldn't complain.

DH bought a new camera for our trip and took it to DS footy game yesterday and we are really pleased with it. We will have so many photos of this holiday. In total we will have new camera, video camera, both DD have their own cameras and also got 2 underwater cameras that the boys can use. oh and the GoPro, as well as all the mobile phones everyone has. I dont think there will be any excuse for us to miss any good photo opportunities. I must say the best thing I like about this camera is it takes great food shots (yes I practised, would not give the camera the thumbs up until I did) I love good food porn and I was really disappointed with how food photos came out on our last holiday.

Did another look through the suitcases yesterday just to make sure we have not forgotten anything, all good. I am sure next weekend we will do the same thing.

I think sometimes in the couple of weeks before the holiday there is too much stress to really get excited. I'm in a similar situation to you. Worried about money, completely TERRIFIED about my run, nervous I'll forget something, still got heaps of last minute things to do and wondering when I'll get a chance to do them...

Once I'm on that plane and there's not a thing I can do about any of that, I'll forget about it and get excited. I bet you will too :thumbsup2

You'll be fine.

Starting to get excited ::yes::

I made PF+ lunch booking for Be our guest today, Had no idea that I could until yesterday (I must be getting sloppy with my researching) I didnt want to do a dinner as I dont think the menu would suit my family, but didnt want to miss out on seeing inside and eating there, lunch was the next best thing.

Also decided to do 3 days at Universal instead of 2. Even though the really busy season is over I am sure there will still be huge lines for the new Harry potter rides etc, so an extra day wont hurt.

I have so much work to do at school before I leave and want to make sure the house gets a really good scrubbing this weekend, as well as try and do 4 weeks of study to make up for being away so I have a feeling it is going to be a busy weekend. DH is away at the coast with DS13 so two less in the house will help.

one week to go:hyper:

I knew you would start getting excited soon :goodvibes

I haven't heard very good reviews of BOG for dinner. I think lunch is the way to go :thumbsup2

The last weekend before going away is always crazy! Good thing you'll have the excitement of the trip to get you through!

thanks Zanzibar, I was starting to worry :goodvibes but the excitement is definitely building.

I actually replied to your earlier post a few days ago, but the App failed and I lost everything I wrote.

In summary, I can sympathise with feeling a bit amiss as the trip approaches. I get like that sometimes and have actually been fading in and out of that feeling a bit lately. Hours and hours of research and dreaming have come to an end, and now I'm faced instead by the reality of all the daily life stuff that I must get sorted before I go. My head is racing with all the work jobs I need to complete as well as making sure the finances are looking healthy before we leave. Plus I'm beginning to debate a few changes to my trip right at a time when it's really much too late to make any changes.
I'm not too worried though. The excitement is still there. It's just waiting for all the work stuff to be out of the way before truly showing itself. :)

I'm pleased you are now very excited. How wonderful that your trip is so close now you can practically touch it.

Lunch at BOG is a good idea. We had lunch there and I was pleased I got a chance to try it. But it was crowded and loud and not the sort of place I would want to spend large amounts of money on a dinner.
