PTR - NYC and Orlando

Hope that your recovery is coming along nicely now. So sorry that you have to go through another op. I hope that second op goes well.

Your plans are looking good. I hope that Delta fixes things for you. As long as you have one flight home, that's all that counts.

Any reason u are travelling to Darling Harbour for the night?
There is a new hotel now right at Sydney International airport, might be handier for one night, unless you were planning on doing something in the city.

Purely beause DH is my favourite place in all of Sydney :) My kids haven't been to Sydney since they were very little so I thought we'd make the most of our night. We have friends meeting us in DH for dinner too.

I know its a bit of a trek but we are there for about 20 hours so we have the time :)

Oh ok, that makes sense then:goodvibes
I often book a couple of nights in Jan if I can get a good deal and me & the kids, hop on the train & go & stay, it is very nice there & lots to do.

Sorry to hear you have to have another operation. I guess it's good they found whatever was wrong though while they were doing your gall bladder. We're still recovering financially from my compartment syndrome surgery earlier this year, so I feel your pain there (literally and financially :rotfl:). While it wasn't fully out of pocket, I needed a very specialised team who charged through the roof and weren't part of the gap payment scheme.

Sounds like you're well organised :thumbsup2 Try not to worry too much about spending money. As long as you've got a place to stay and a way to get there, you can actually get by on quite a small amount of money in the US. Of course, it's more fun when you can shop to your heart's content and eat wherever you like, but definitely doable on a budget. There are a lot of great free/very cheap things to do as well.

Hope Delta get your flights sorted

I've made up a very strict budget to account for spending money AND the op and I'm still hoping we'll make our target. I'm sure over over budgeted anyway! I prefer to do that and come home with money than have to go without :)

Absolutely :thumbsup2 Sounds like you have nothing to worry about :goodvibes

Your trip plans sound amazing! We are heading to Orlando/NY in October/November for 16 days, super excited! We are flying Virgin to LAX and Delta to Orlando and then on our flights home to Sydney - I haven't heard of any changes (yet) so I'm hoping nothing changes & fingers crossed yours are sorted soon, that would make me nervous lol.

Its great you have your restaurants sorted, we missed out on or preferred restaurants unfortunately (we are traveling during the free dining plan offers) so fingers crossed there are cancellations ;-)

All the best for your surgery! :-)

Thanks Sharonco, I'd love to hear about your trip when you get back. It seems so long until ours! Then again we started saving and planning 3 1/2 years ago so it has been dragged out!

Today was 100 days out so we decided to do the big 'reveal' to the kids! It was so much fun! It's been lovely bring able to talk to them about it today and they've told everyone we've seen today!

Double digits!!! :cool1:

Sounds like your kids are excited about the news.

The kids spent the whole day telling everyone they met about the trip. Lots of fun!!

My daughter keeps checking that I'm not joking! How mean would that be?!!

Aww that's sweet that she's checking you're not joking, and yes that would be a super mean joke to play on anyone! Lol

I'm a bit peeved that my kids are not more into our trip. I can't tell if it's because prior to this trip we'd never really talked much about Disneyland as we never thought we'd have the money to go, or if it's just too far out still and the excitement will kick in soon. I hope it does!

I think the novelty will wear off soon for mine and then they'll probably start getting excited on the way to the airport! If they're anything like me that's what will happen!

Another step closer!! I checked in to our cruise today. Managed to get a reasonable PAT and a brunch/lunch booking for Palo on our sea day. I say brunch but it's a 12:30 booking so may as well be lunch :) We'd rather eat with the kids in the morning and evening so lunch suits us.

Now just waiting for FP to open up. I really should look into what FPs we are going to get!
