Stormtroopers Stole My Christmas--*UPDATED 07/02/17!*--Pg. 10

Following along! I love how you persuaded your parents into a longer trip :rotfl:

I do that with my boyfriend. I'll give a whole speech on why we need to add days or that or change that. To be fair though who would rather be at work than Disney? So adding to the trip doesn't take much persuasian.

Joining in. Your title caught my interest and I am enjoying all your negotiating with your parents. :)

Yay, thank you for reading so far!!

Joining in! We were there Nov 30th - Dec 8th and I still haven't even started a TR yet...not sure if I'll get there :P

Wasn't WDW amazing during the holidays? Looking forward to reading about ya'lls trip!

You should definitely write a TR, it'll help you relive all of the awesome memories! I would like to see your perspective on the crowds at that time! Yes, WDW was awesome during the holiday season!!

It gets easier! I promise! The first year is a killer.

I hope so! We started back today, and it was amazing to see all of the empty seats from those that didn't make it! Crazyyyy.

Hi from La!! Following along!!

Aw yay, a fellow La girl! Thanks for reading so far!

Can't wait to hear more!

Thank you for joining in!

Lol, that is too funny! I'm so happy to see I'm not the only one with persuasive tactics! lol. Thanks for joining in!

You persuade your parents like I do the husband lol

lol, it's so much fun too! Thank you for reading!

When I last left off, our plane from New Orleans had just landed in Orlando. I quickly rushed my parents off of the plane and made a mad dash to Disney's Magical Express!

I was super excited and happy until mom reminded me we had to go get our luggage first...
serious buzzkill.

The luggage carousel didn't take too long, luckily... but everyone laughed when they saw my bag had been flagged as being heavy. No kidding, I am a chronic overpacker.

I know some of you might be wondering why we didn't let magical express get our luggage for us, and there really is no good explanation other than we thought it would be faster and easier to just bring them with us.

Up until this point in the planning, mom and I continuously told dad we were staying at Pop Century instead of CBR. He wasn't too excited to be staying at POP, but he was going to Disney so there was no complaining.
Caribbean Beach is his one of his favorite resorts on Disney property, so it was part of his Christmas present!

We walked up to the Magical Express desk where the very nice CM said "Alright, so that's three for Caribbean Beach! Zone 4, and have a Magical Day!"

In response to this dad says to me, "Hey, I think they have the wrong resort. He said CBR, not Pop. I think we should ask."

My response was "No dad, it's fine. They know where we are going."
Dad was obviously worried he would end up at the wrong place and answered me, "No, I'm going to say something. I don't think that's right."

Geez, let us surprise you! Gahhhh. I gave in and told him Merry Christmas. He was happy with the change, and relieved we weren't on our way to the wrong hotel.

Our Magical Express driver took our bags from us, and we climbed on board the motor coach. The bus wasn't completely full when we were finally on our way to Disney!!!

Pretty soon we saw this beautiful sight:

CBR was the first stop, and bell services quickly picked up our luggage and ushered us inside to check in. Because we had done the online check in, I already knew our room wasn't ready yet. We confirmed it was not ready, and left our bags with bell services.

By this point we were getting hungry so we decided to take the Internal Resort Shuttle to go to Old Port Royale for lunch.

I would have to say that the food court at OPR is my favorite in all of Disney. I love the theming, and it's never THAT busy that you can't find a table to sit at.

Mom and I headed to the Grill section to grab lunch, while dad went to get a cuban sandwich.

I chose to get a Chili dog, which was delicious.

Mom got the pulled pork sandwich, which she thought was kind of spicy. (Crazy she found something spicy considering how some Cajun food is. lol)

For dessert, we both chose the fresh pineapple.

I surprised my boyfriend with a resort change for our trip. But I told him the morning of because I knew someone would say something or he'd see a sign before we got there and do what your dad did. :rotfl:

That's such an awesome surprise! Lol, very smart of you to tell him early! I for sure thought my dad was going to cause a scene of panic and confusion. haha.

After our awesome lunch we decided to look around while we waited to see if our room would be ready around 3 pm.

First up, we looked in the shop. What was really cool to see was that they were offering free gift wrapping with any purchase! I thought that was such a nice touch, and could come in handy for many people who flew in and weren't able to bring gifts for their kids with them.

We saw a bunch of things we wanted to buy, but decided to wait until the end of our trip. It was cold inside OPR, so we took a walk outside the pool area and finally towards the center of the resort.

It was getting pretty hot outside, and we were all wearing jeans... no doubt I was ready to go change. Mom went to take a seat and use her phone, while dad and I kept exploring.

Finally by the time we got to the center walkway area mom texted me that our room was ready!!

What amazing persuasion skills you have :worship:

I love the crafts - especially the shirts! How did you make them?! The Christmas one is my favorite!

Thank you, thank you! :thanks:
I used iron on vinyl and my cricut machine to make the shirts. There were soooo many cricut shirts in Disney for Christmas!! Everyone had the same idea. lol.
Thanks for reading!

I'm here! Already sounds like you guys are having an awesome time!

Yay, thank you for joining in!!!

We were assigned Martinique 2160, so we decided to walk from Old Port Royale versus taking the Internal Resort Shuttle. Surprisingly, the building wasn't very far at all from OPR at all!

The mini-fridge:

We had a great corner room on the second floor of Martinique. We were super close to the pool and laundry in both Barbados and Martinique. The walk to Old Port Royale was very quick, and convenient.

The last time we had stayed at CBR, we stayed in a Pirate Room. The Pirate rooms were nice, but not our first choice. They were refurbing the rooms throughout the rest of the resort at the time, which as you can see came out super nice! We all loved CBR before, but now it is even better!

The in-wall safe is located in the bathroom area, and is large enough to fit a laptop or tablet.

Once we checked out the room, we called bell services to retrieve our luggage. My mom's aunt had dropped a Christmas tree off at the front desk a few days prior to our arrival, so we called to see if they could send it with bell services. The front desk clerk was really nice, and dispatched a runner to our room to bring the tree.

Within minutes the runner arrived, and we began to decorate the tree.

About 15 minutes later, the bellman arrived with our bags and we unpacked and finished decorating the room.

Once everyone was unpacked, and freshened up, we walked down to the bus stop to catch a bus to EPCOT.

The bus arrived pretty quickly and the drive was very short. We made our way to security where my bag was searched very thoroughly, and then I became one of the lucky ones to do extra security screening.

Finally, we made our way through the entrance!

We had fast passes for Living with the Land, so we took a leisurely walk to The Land. The wait time was 20 minutes, but we were on it in 2.

I don't know about your guys, but I miss when the CM's narrated the ride.

Following along! Like everyone else says I love your negotiation skills. It sounds like you had a great time, can't wait to read more!

I miss the CM narration of Living with the Land too! However, it is still such a nice & relaxing attraction. Have you ever done the Behind the Seeds at The Land? It's very interesting and fairly cheap for a guided tour at WDW!

Love the room decorations, so cute!

I like Living with the Land a lot, it's so neat to see everything they grow and do there. I saw a group on that tour when we rode Living with the Land, but I've never done it myself. I will have to check that out next time we go. Thank you!!

Joining in! Great trip report, so far!

Thank you for reading!! :)

Love the room decorations

Thank you very much!
