Terrors of the Deep attraction at Seaworld Orlando will be closed until Autumn this year. The attraction is under major rehab, which will be dissapointing news for anyone (including me) travelling soon.

When I was there at Easter they said it would reopen in June. We had wanted to go on the tour but we weren't able to. I had hoped to do the tour in August. Looks like I won't be doing it until next year now. Thanks for the info

Well I am keeping my fingers crossed that it may open in June. I sent Seaworld an email - here is what they said...

hearing from our future guests.

I have contacted our Design and Engineering Department, and have found that at
this time it does not look as though our Terrors of the Deep exhibit will be
open by the date you mentioned. However, you can still view some of our smaller
sharks at the Golden Seahorse Gift Shop located next to our Journey to Atlantis
ride.

To expand on my last post. We are going to be there for the last two weeks in August and Terrors of the Deep was one of the things I was looking forward to seeing. I have emailed them to ask if there is any chance that it may open early.

At long last I have received a reply from Seaworld but the news is not good:

Dear Mr. Gunn,

Thank you for contacting SeaWorld Adventure Park Orlando. We apologize for the
delay in response to your inquiry.

Unfortunately, the construction in this attraction does not permit Terrors of
the Deep to reopen until the fall of 2002. At this time we do not have a
specified date as to when it will be reopen. We apologize in advance that you
will be missing this attraction.
