Thank You Hollywood Studios Guest Services

Okay, I am NOT going to remember your names, so hopefully you'll remember US from last September (2009). We were at the studios with my daughter, who has autism. She had been doing ok, but was now tired, hot, and sick of being "touched" by strangers brushing by. We were near the front of the park but she was so nearly in meltdown mode that I was afraid to put her on the bus back to our hotel (all star music). I told DH and Dsons that I was going to duck into Guest Services as it would be air conditioned and quiet and would give her a chance to settle down a bit.
Now, she is 13 years old at the time. Not little, and it is not like you can "see" her disability. Until she starts screaming or wringing her hands...which I was trying to avoid (hands had started).
You were a nice lady (maybe 45-60) in GS that day. You asked if you could help, and I explained why we needed a quiet cool place to decompress for a few minutes. I also mentioned that DH and DSons were trying to/hoping to get sis to stay in park (they didn't want to stop playing, you see). You were very patient, offered dd a drink and asked us to wait here for a few moments. Another cast member (a young man) brought a wheelchair for dd, and you asked if that would help with the tired and the touching by other guests. I said it would and thank you, as dd took a seat. You filled out a Guest Assistance Card for dd for the remainer of our stay (I didn't know about them before). Then you asked if we could wait a few more moments. Just then DH arrived saying "let's go, right now! I want to ride one more thing" worse than the kids lol! You were in back, so I explained to dh that we'd been asked to wait and no, I didn't know why.
When you came out you escorted our family to a small lounge in back of GS. Asked us to be comfortable, when in came Aladdin, Jasmine, Snow White and Belle!!!!!
My DD was wide eyed and so overwhelmed she barely spoke (well, she is often non verbal but...) Her brothers were equally delighted (tough teen boys, yeah not at disney). They visited with us for about 15-20 minutes. Signing autographs (on a memo pad as dd forgot her book), and taking photos. They were quieter than with other kids, a help since dd was soooo overwhelmed already. They asked her about her visit so far, and what she still planned to do. DS age 11 then, stated that he had wanted to do the Rockin Roller Coaster but sis was tired so we were going to leave now. That is when Aladdin pointed out that the GAC card meant that sis could stay in wheelchair in line, and we could avoid the more crowded line area.
Sis said, "no mom, i want to stay now......I want to ride the roller coaster too!" Wow! from I'm Gonna have a fit if we don't get out of here, to let's go on a cool ride . . .
I wish I had thanked you more that day, I was so overwhelmed. I wish I remember your name. Thanks so much from all of us.:wizard:
We added the pic we just found at home......As you can see from daughters big grin, she was a changed princess after her visit with the Disney Royalty!

That when we went to take her photo w/characters, it turned out we were out of film (hadn't switched to digital yet). You stepped out and returned with a disposable camera and a smile.
Thank you so very much. You made our trip. I sooooo wish I remembered the name.......The Guest Assistance Card really made it so that she had no more really super difficult moments that trip, and the character experience that afternoon is one I will never ever forget. Thank you.:lovestruc

It's great when nice things happen to good people. What a wonderful time your family must have had!

WOW, so nice to see CM's like this! It certainly takes from a lot of where it seems guests can be taken for granted. I truly hope they see this.

I ran into a very nice CM at DHS also, who also took time and patience to help me with of all things, a camera! I just assumed I knew how to work it. ;)
